As I was done with my doubts, I decided that I should get out of the ‘inner area of the dark forest’, because staying here is tantamount to finding death with my strength.
Once again, I took a look at my stats.

As I was about to get down from the tree, I saw a guard return and he stood just below the tree’s branch on which I was hiding.
I realized that, if I don’t get rid of these guards now, then I cannot run far and my identity might also get leaked.
I have read many novels, where there are many situations like ‘main character killing some guy’ and in which the main character usually gets exposed to enemies due to letting a witness leave without killing him. But I won’t make that kind of mistake, as I don’t want to have more trouble or in simple terms, I hate trouble. So, I think it's better to kill these guys and prevent my identity from being leaked through these guys.
So, I added the remaining 6 free stat points in the ‘Strength’ stat and retrieved the sword from the ‘storage box’. I readied myself in a proper position and made sure I was not exposed as my ‘stealth’ skill was still active. I jumped from the tree and aimed for the neck of the guard.
I remember that this guy has Refinement stage cultivation. Although, it might be difficult to kill him, but I aimed for his neck due to it being the only part exposed whereas his all body was covered in armor and I might score a critical hit.
As I was falling, I gathered all my strength and when I got closer to the guard, I slashed my sword across the guard’s neck and beheaded him.
The guard could not react and his head fell with deep shock and disbelief written on his face.

Looks like I don’t have enough defense and lost HP due to jumping from the tree.
Putting this matter behind, I checked the guard's body and did not find any storage ring or any important material. He only had a spear and armor. I obtained a few gold coins but nothing precious.
After storing these things in the storage box, I climbed the tree again.
Actually, I could run away, but I felt that by staying here I can sneak attack another guard once more. As there is a guard's dead body lying under the branch where I am hiding, and if his companion sees the dead body, he will surely come and check the body. And when that happens, I can attack with the spear this time instead of a sword. As the spear has good piercing power when compared to a sword.
I activated the stealth skill again and drank HP and MP potion and restored full HP and MP, as my HP and MP limit should have increased again after leveling up to two times.

Reading this notification, I got excited because that means, now I have better hiding ability and as I use ‘stealth skill’ many times, it will level up and the ability to hide and sneak attack will become powerful. I can save myself by hiding when facing difficult enemies.

Although the rate of MP consumption has increased, I feel that my body, breath, and aura, are all hidden well when compared to before. And if required, I can buy many MP potions too.
I waited for a few minutes, and during these few minutes, I added 15 ‘Free stat points’ to the ‘strength’ stat and 4 ‘free stat points’ in the ‘defense’ and ‘resistance’ stat each, so as to decrease the chance of getting injured again and also increase resistance towards the poison.
And there goes all the 23 ‘Free stat points’.
And now I don’t have any more ‘Free stat points’ for backup or emergency.
As I was waiting and continuously recovering MP by drinking MP potions to keep up with the usage of MP, I saw two guards coming in my direction. When they saw their companion dead on the ground, they ran and came to check the dead body.
Now, I am thinking about whether to take the shot or not.
Because, there are two guards in the Refinement stage, and I am alone. Even if I succeed in killing a guard by sneak attacking, I don’t know if I can manage to take down the remaining guard. Although my ‘strength’ stat and other stats have increased, I am not much optimistic about killing a Refinement stage guard without getting injured.
But I have to kill them before the Evolver guy comes back and if all the three guards group up, I might have to give up my killing plan, and if by some bad luck they find me, they will gang up and attack me together which is the worst thing that can happen to me.
As I was weighing whether to take the risk and kill the two guards or hide and see if I have another chance to kill the guards or if I should escape?
That’s when I heard a women’s scream.
“AHHH.......”
Hearing the scream, both the guards and I got startled and looked in the direction from where the scream came.
The two guards exchanged looks and nodded to each other. One of the guards started searching the dead body, maybe he was looking for money or any valuable object. While the other guard ran in the direction from which the scream came.
This is the chance I was waiting for. Now I can quickly sneak attack this guy and with my speed, I can catch up with the other guard and kill him too.
After deciding to take action, I put the sword in the ‘storage box’ and took out the Spear I obtained from the dead guard.

Why does this spear have better stats compared to the sword obtained from the guy whom I killed at the beginning?
Ha!... now I remember that someone did say that the sword was a practice sword, but anyway it’s a good spear to kill this guy.
