Now that the devil no longer controlling this giant elephant, I would expect it to slowly calm down, after all, the source of its suffering is no longer present, but I was wrong, it somehow went from uncontrollable to amok. I presume this is due to the clash of the leftover dark mana that enslave him with the its own mana, causing it to lose control

The elephant flies around haphazardly, knocking and tumbling down trees left and right, firing spell after spell of wind magic. As a result, the surrounding environment feels looks like a scene right after a natural disaster

A mishap in judgement, that, I have to admit. As I use the gravity and magnetic magic to take back my great sword, I begin leaping upward, slashing down the elephant with all my might, trying to stop it from rampaging any further

Whether it's due to the fact that the elephant is in such a rampaging state, or the fact that it's no longer under control, or simply both, the counterattack that the elephant made simply missed its mark. I can easily dodge the swing from the trunk, or the slash from the metallic trunks. Even multiple air blast magic that keeps on coming from left to right, while unpredictable, can be dodged rather easily

Still, it would set a bad example to my siblings as well as the lower ranking adventures if I let this elephant rampaging any further. They might quote this fight as an excuse if the did a poor job, so long as the job is done, for which, my noble pride wouldn't allow it, which is why, I started to put more strength into my slash

The elephant, becoming more and more agitated, let out a loud trumpet sound from its trunk, causing me to start panicking for a brief moment, but thankfully I recovered just as quickly

Just as I am about to slash the eye, a light came from the underground dungeon, enveloping the elephant

(No time to waste. Quickly, while it's not attacking) [Yuna]

A cowardly tactic, but a necessity given the current situation

"You no longer need to attack me any further, young warrior" [Elephant]

"!?" [Yuna]

It talks? The elephant suddenly started talking. I know that there are species of monsters gifted enough to communicate with human, but I never heard one coming from an elephant. Still, I sense no ill intent nor any underhanded trick from the way the elephant talk, thus, I decided to sheath back my great sword

"I am glad you're quick to understand" [Elephant]

"I take it you're no longer under the control of the devil" [Yuna]

"That's correct. Forgive me, for my unsightly display" [Elephant]

Given the way it talks, and the fact that it quickly apologize, it's safe to assume all the dark mana that bind it is no longer present. A good news indeed

"It is fine. Aside from me, nobody's hurt. I would also like to apologize for hurting you, alas, mind answering a few questions for me? " [Yuna]

"I'm afraid I cannot do that" [Elephant]

"Pardon me? What could be the reason? " [Yuna]

It doesn't look like the elephant trying to run away and shriek it responsibility, it has this noble aura around, that's way above any nobles or royals in this country, surely there's a solid reason

"Before the device teleport me back, I must ask you, did the little blue hair girl with the black curse be somewhat related to you?" [Elephant]

Teleport? Device?

"She's my younger sister" [Yuna]

As the light enveloping the elephant becomes brighter and brighter, I cut to the chase and answer the question

"I see. Bring her alongside those with the curse to the device. They're the heroes that will save all of us from..." [Elephant]

The light, like an explosion, shines ever brightly, and the elephant, unable to finish it sentence, is nowhere to be seen

"Charlotte... Black curse... Device... Heroes..." [Yuna]

Those last words, and saving us all... From whom?
