Tamashi Kunshu:

I sat at the table with some of the other world leaders as we held our meeting. I was there as Kulinan President and as the recognised Grand Demonic Empress, Narakam Emperor Dushtan Khan, my mother and Undesten Emperor Tolui Buraldag. Emperor Khan started first, “We are gathered here to discuss the actions of what to do about the developing situation in the Kanshai Empire. As it appears mass armed force movement has been seen near the Teikoku and Undesten borders. As such there is reason to believe a war may be on the horizon. However it is hard to know who will be the target. However as it appears there may well be more than a war. Yesterday in a raid in Talastan we captured a woman who claims to be the Teikoku General Shiyara.” Mother interrupted him and protested, “ General Shiayara has been dead for centuries. It's not possible that this must be some actor.” Emperor Khan shook his head solemnly. “We’ve done tests on her magical aura, it was a match. She is indeed who she says she is. More importantly she said she served the dark emperor. However she also did say she was brought back from the dead. This means there is a  possibility that the Kanshai have been experimenting on people and have learnt how to bring people back to life.

I got information that Asura is currently in the Kanshai Empire. This means there is a definite possibility that we are correct and he just figured it out before us. In any case they must be stopped. Senso, Tolui, I am proposing that we strike first. Rather than let the Kanshai strike first and use their experiments to destroy us 1 by 1.” Mother and Emperor Buraldag did not say anything for a minute. Mother spoke first, “I trust your judgement about the undead general. I will support this motion in full, but only if Tolui agrees, it will be easier if the Kanshai have to fight on 2 fronts at the same time.” Emperor Tolui responded, “ We will fight, I deem it necessary to keep my homeland safe.”  We were going to go to war with the Kanshai Empire.

I protested loudly. I would not fight a war on the vague possibility that the Kanshai might attack first. Of course there was no active military force for the Kulinan territories, so I wasn't worried about any kulinan forces in active deployment, however I was a general in the Teikoku armed forces, in that regard I did not want to send Teikoku forces to die for what I saw for an war of aggression. However in the end my protests were irrelevant as I commanded the forces of the home islands. Mother was my direct superior anyways and as such it was irrelevant anyways whether or not I agreed. All of us got up and went to sort out our affairs. The forces had already been set up at the border so now it was  a matter of actually attacking. The attack was set for tomorrow morning. I had to go to the front. If this war was happening anyways, I would lead a division and look for Asura. Not just for the sake of love, but for the sake of stability. If emperor dushtan were to be killed on the front, then there would be no clear succession for the Narakam empire which could lead it to devolve into civil war. As such Asura needed to be found to take the reins of the empire. I went to get the generals and let them know of my decision.

Dushtan Khan

It was in the early hours. The entire western fleet had been summoned. We were taking part in a 2 pronged attack as part of the plan. The Narakam army would join the Undesten forces and invade from the south via the strait of Putiyat to capture the areas inhabited by the Narakam speaking peoples. The navy was to raid and capture the port cities along the North eastern coast and the mouth of Kaniataro river. Normally I would be lending the army but instead I left it to one of my generals as I deemed it more important to capture the port and coastal cities so as to prevent the importation of weapons and supplies over sea. I stood at the bow of the ship. I was commanding the flagship of the western fleet. The battleship the INS ( Imperial Narakam Ship) Karnata. I liked the wind rushing past me as we sped along the seas. It felt good. I extended my wings to feel the wind a bit more. The sensation of catching the wind with my wings was amazing, it made me feel young again. It reminded me of my youth, where I used to fly and hang out on the roofs of Kulinan castle. I smiled to myself. Those days had long since passed. I had never wanted to see the empires come to this point. I always wanted there to be peace between the nations. I was afraid. I was never meant to be a war time emperor, much less in the twilight of my life. I looked out at the waves. I hoped that this war could maintain world peace. The removal of a hostile power could reset the clock of global war. But of course there would always be the possibility that like what happened so many years ago. A kingdom will rise up to take their place. Peace is the enemy of expansionism and ambition. There will always be a ruler who wishes to expand their own power, and the expansion of power must come at some cost. Both a financial and at political cost to those you take the power from. My father had taught me a simple principle when I was young. Just like how in economics the baseline principle is that resources are limited and so there will always be a cost for making a choice, politics works in a similar fashion. There is a limited amount of power in the world. A good ruler will use what power they have and use it to take care of their people in the best way possible. But there will always be those who will not be satisfied. The wind made me think back. About all I had learned over my long life. It saddened me. I brought my heir back to this world but he goes missing in less than a year. I was not able to pass on my knowledge properly to him. While he was very capable, in his mind politics is politics, but that is not necessarily the case. As far as his mother, Kali, had told me human politics had evolved differently. They were a similar species but as it seems they were a more hateful and violent species. They also seemed to have abandoned monarchy years ago and see absolute monarchy as archaic and backwards. As long as Asura came back, the empire would be in safe hands. I did not trust others in the family, they were mostly only out to enrich and gain glory for themselves. My other grandchildren were largely selfish and self-serving in the way they weilded any power granted to them. I sighed as the smell of the sea surrounded me. There was nothing I could do but hope that this worked out well. Ideally we would find Asura, bring him home and I could finally understand why he went missing, and I could teach him all I want to, preserving the empire and improving the quality of life of its people. One of my aides rushed to me holding some papers tightly so they weren’t blown away on the windy bow. She asked me to come inside as something important had come for me. I nodded and went inside to my quarters with her. I sat down and she placed a letter on my desk. It had nothing writing on the fronts except for a red 5 point star. I wondered why it was given to me unopened. I flipped it over and saw why they had given it to me. The envelope was wax sealed and stamped with an imperial coat of arms. It was unusual for these letters to come to me directly as the lesser members of the house would normally address such letters to my office and they would come directly in the case of an emergency. I opened the letter and I was in complete shock. The letter read:

Dear, your Imperial Majesty, Emperor Dushtan Khan,

I, Asura Khan, Crown prince of the Narakam Empire, hereby invoke my right to command the armed forces of the Narakarm Empire. As such I request control of the eastern army for the upcoming conflict with the Kanshai Empire. My messenger is there onboard the INS Karnata, you can hand your response letter to him. May the spirits guide our brave Narakam soldiers in this conflict. I am sure we will win, restore order and justice to this broken world of ours and expose the crimes of the Kanshai.

Give Tamashi my love.

Warmest Regards

Asura Khan

I was in complete shock. Asura not only knew about the operation, he even knew where I would be. More importantly he requested control of the eastern army, which now was no longer guarding the eastern borders due to the wartime truce. As it seemed he was fully aware of what was going on down to the smaller details. It settled my disturbed soul a little bit, the fact that he knew how to exercise his power even from afar. I had no choice but to allow him to take personal control of the eastern army. As crown prince he was allowed to take control an army to fight in a defensive war. I sighed, wrote my letter aknowledging his command over the eastern army. I got up to try and find the mentioned messenger. When I left my cabin I saw a man standing by the door, dressed well, with deep black hair with some blonde streaks. I assumed this was the mentioned. I handed the man the letter and told him, “Please make sure Asura is safe and writes me more often.” He nodded and left. I went back inside and called Tamashi.

Emperor Tamrkan Vansh

I saw the smoke rising in the distance. It seemed my expeditionary force was met with severe action. I sighed and went back to my tent. All across the continent revolts had sprung up. The entire south was for all intents and purposes under rebel control. I sat, in my quarters examining the map. We had the numerical advantage by a 3:1 margain, however the rebels seemed to appear and disappear without a trace. They were like ghosts in the night. I was writing up and emergency decree before a bunch of my ministers rushed into the room, flustered. My foreign minister gasped and cried, “All 3 empires have declared war!”. It took me a second to process what she had just said. We had not tried to provoke any conflict. Then i saw the letters from each of the 3 ambassadors in the hands of the foreign minister. Then it hit me, this was all real. We were now not only in the middle of a civil war, we were now at war with the other empires. I felt my blood boil and yelled at my ministers to leave. I then began to formulate my response.
