Chapter 6: Their Own Way

Back to the jungle, Private Bob and Private Jim are going  together, they have gone so far in the midnight and now they feel that they need a rest.

They just bring only two guns, little foods, they don't even bring a compass with them so they don't know where they go, they just try to go as far as possible, out of the camp they consider "danger".

"Hey, let's rest a little bit!" - Private Bob seems very tired, he talks to Private Jim

"Yeah! If you say so." - Private Jim agrees with Bob

Bob brings out a can of water, he then opens his mouth to have some water drops, but no, the can is now empty.

"Do you have water, Jim? My can is empty" - Bob begs Jim for some water

"Me too! Sorry."

"We should have brought more supply back then, I think my action at that time to choose leaving the camp was so stupid!" - Bob regrets because leaving his camp

"Don't blaming yourself like that, man! Maybe somewhere from this place will have a river for us to get water." 

Jim takes out a pack of ciggarete, he lights a ciggarete up with a lighter he brings with.

"Hey! Want to smoke some?" Jim takes a ciggarete and places it on Bob's hands

"No, man! I don't like to smoke!"

Then Private Bob notices something unsual, he suddenly stands up, focusing on looking at the bushes forward him.

"What's wrong?" - Jim asks

"Do you see those bushes are very weird?" - Bob points his right hand to the bushes forward him to let Jim know

Then, on the bushes, gradually appear the figure of men, they're all wearing leather clothes, their hands are holding some sharp things like machetes, some of them holding the things like bows and crossbows.

Jim being more cautious, he grabs his Mossberg 500 Shotgun and aiming to those strangers.

"Hey! Who are you people? What do you want from us?" - Jim shouts at those strangers while aiming his Shotgun at them

Then, one of those strangers shoot an arrow into Jim's right shoulder, Private Bob speedily grabs the M4A1 Assault Rifle and starts shooting at those guys.

"Let's get out of here, Jim!" - Bob trying to help Jim moving out of those guys while shooting at them

"Bob! Just run! Run out of this place as far as possible!" - Jim urging Bob to run and he also starts running and shooting

"Get out of here, Bob! You still have your parents back home, I have no one left, run! I'll will be okay!" - Jim shouts at Bob

Bob hates to leave his buddy behind but he had to do what Jim said, he runs as fast as possible, run in heartbeat, as far as possible like Jim said.

Jim now has nothing worry about, he tries to do his best to protect Bob, though he is wounded, he managed to kill 10 to 20 those strangers, look like they had had follow him and Bob since they got into the forest.

When Jim then stops at a somewhere of the forest, he thinks he won't be followed by those strangers anymore, then he reloads his Shotgun, his left hand is now holding the arrow that hit his right shoulder, he hasn't remove it yet.

When Jim is trying to check his wounds, he hears some strange noises come from above the tree he is standing, he then aims his Shotgun up there.

Notices that is one of those strangers that followed him and Bob, he shoots that guy and accidently alarming those are nearby.

Then he fights back many more of them, finally, look likes all of strangers are now dead, Jim checks their body, accidently, one of those strangers was fake death, he used his short sword which look like machete and stabbed Jim's belly and die.

Jim is now heavy wounded, his belly is now, visceras start emerging out of his belly because the stab was too deep, blood everywhere.

"Ahh! Ahh! Arrgh! I must!" - Jim trying to say some words in painfully

Jim trying to light up a cigarette and put on his mouth, but he didn't have much strength to do that, he later died because blood lost.

Bob keeps running like Jim said, until he turns back to look, he is now not in the forest anymore.

"Oh no! Jim! I need to go back for him!" - Bob saying in panic

Then Bob starts running back from where he went but he was so tired to continue, but he keeps going and then passed out.

Back to John's platoon, several hours before John got back from Princess Sheria's castle, Sergeant Grey was in charge, Grey orders his soldiers to patrolling around the area, see if there is some community around them or not because he wants to know more about this another world.

Luckily, there is a small village located from their camp 2 kilometers to the East, Grey orders Private Harry and Private Grants to go there on foot and come to greet the villagers, try to be friendly with them.

The villagers at first seem very cautious with them because of their strange clothes and language, but then the villagers finally try to be their friends, very welcoming.

"So, what do you think about this place?" - Private Harry asks Private Grants 

"Look like the Medieval age I know from movies, novels and anime, but I haven't seen any of fantasy here" - Private Grants feels disappointed

Then Private Grants sees two children who are standing in the dirty corner of the village, he then splits out from Harry goes after them to see.

"Can you please give me some foods?" - The boy begs Private Grants

Grants notices those two kids have very odd ears, their ears are long sharp, like the Elves he saw from the Fantasy things.

Before Private Grants could reply, the Village Elder whispers to him:

"Those two kids are half - elves, their mother died so long ago and they're all being hated by the people because they have Elves blood on their body, I'm very sorry to let you see those poor kids! - The Village Elder whispers to Grants

"Can I adopt them?" - Grants asks the Village Elder

"It's up to you, good man! If I was not this Village Elder, I would have save those poor kids lives!" -The Village Elder accept Grants to have the kids

Then Grants takes those two kids hands and brings them far away from the village entrance, the kids have a bit worried about it, Harry seems very annoy about that.

"This is not our mission objective for coming this village, Grants!" - Harry wants to return those kids to the village

"These kids are under my protection now so shut your mouth off!" - Grants announces to Harry

"Where are we going, brother?" - The little kid seems to be the little sister of the older boy one asks

"Don't worry, you little angels! I'll get you to some place better!" - Grants answers to these kids

After Grants and Harry return to the camp, Grey seems very doesn't like to keep those two kids, he says he needs the approval from Lieutenant John but allows Grants to keep them stay for several days.

Some soldiers seem very curious and want to touch those kids, Grants then warns them not to do that if not, he will beat them from living to half dead.

"What is your name, boy?" - Grants asks the young orphan Half Elf kid

"My name is Terry, and here is my little sister, Tina." - Terry introduces himself and his little sister

"But who are you and your people, bro? You don't seem to speak our language but we can understand to each others!" - Terry wonders and asks Grants

"That doesn't matter now, but you and your sister seems very hungry right now! Here, eat something!"

Then Grants opens a pack of MRE, the military food and pours it in two bowls and brings to the kids.

"Here, it's the best to eat when it's still hot!" Grants talks to the kids while giving their hands 2 spoons

"Can I? Bro! You're very good man! Thank you! Tina, say thank to bro!" - Terry asks Tina to thank Grants

"Bro!" - Tina says with a happy emotion

"Not Bro, Tina! Say thank you!"

"No, no, you don't need to thank me, just see you little angels happy can make my heart more warmer now!" - Grants seems very happy

The kids then eat the foods with cheerful smiles, Grants seems very happy to see that, then, he hears something outside and goes out to see, the kids also coming with him.

That's John, he has returned, he announces to his soldiers that he will have something important to say to the soldiers and orders them to gathering within 5 minutes.

John also sees the kids coming of Grants's tent, Grants explains to John the reason why he brought them here and begging him to let them stay. John then allows the kids to stay in his camp but only in one week.

Five minutes passed. Everyone is fully gathered, John standing in front of them, starting his speech about what he wants to tell them earlier:

"The meeting that I went today, Princess Sheria had talked to me, suggesting me to join her alliance and fighting alongside with her!" 

"Follow me, if you want! Otherwise stay here! I'm going to fight, because I'm a soldier, and a soldier must fullfil his duty to the end!

"I won't force you to join! Choose carefully, when you have the answer, there will be no going back!"

The soldiers around seem very confusing, hard to make their final choice for what they heard, they say to John that they need more time to think about it.

While the soldiers are thinking about their final choice, then Corporal Igor shouts loud:

"Stop dreaming about that! Wake up Johnny! If you want to die, do that alone, don't make us have to die like you!"

"Like I said, all of it is up to you, but when you choose to fight with me, there will be no going back!" - John replied Igor

"So that's what you think, huh? Fighting alongside with that Princess then what? Have a relationship with her and have with her a child? Then become a king? Oh, Johnny, you're just nothing but a stupid!" - Igor mocking John

"You Amerikans always say about good things, but look at what you did! You brings wars and tears to the people in the Middle East, make wars in the name of "justice"! That's why I'm proud because my parents are Ruskians, not Amerikan!"

Then Igor goes back to his tent like he didn't do anything wrong, but Sergeant Grey stops him.

"I really hate your attitude to your superior, pay more respect for them, Igor! My rank is higher than you so you should do the same thing with me!" - Grey explains to Igor to do the right things

"You Nazi Germini descendant don't have the right to say that to me!" - Igor insults Grey

"What did you say?"

Suddenly, igor punches Grey's face with his right hand, the soldiers start confusing, don't know how to stop them, then John rushing into the front of them

"Stop this argument immediately! Igor, go back to your tent, I don't want to see you this night, stay inside until tomorrow and I'll have a reasonable punishment for you!" - John shouts at Igor's face

Then Igor goes to his tent, his crews also coming with him, John feels headache about this situation, then he orders his soldiers to dismiss, John orders Private Francois and Corporal Winston to do the night guard.

At night, Private Francois and Corporal Winston are doing the night guard, most of the soldiers are now sleeping, they're now guarding inside the Humvee car, doing trash talks.

"Hey, where did you get that pistol? It's seems very new!" - Francois asks Winston

"Oh! I borrow it from Lieutenant Dan, he said it's a modified version of M1911 Pistol, it's very beautiful, isn't it?" - Winston replied

"Hey, open the door!" - Private Aikichi knocking the door, make the soldiers have to go out

When Winston and Francois go out the car, they see Private Adolf and Corporal Igor are bringing alot of Anti-tanks and Anti-Air weapons, some of the foods, they even bring their personal weapons.

"What are you planning to?" - Winston questioning Igor

"Oh, Johnny ordered me to bring all these stuff here." - Igor replied

"Only the stupid believe your talk" - Winston pointing the pistol to Igor

"If you don't believe me then go ask John instead!"

Then Winston planning to go to Lieutenant John's tent but he was stabbed by Igor above his neck from behind, then he died, Igor pointing his knife with is covered with Winston's blood directly to Francois's throat.

"Please don't kill me, please!"

"Die here now, or join us!" - Igor gives Francois one way out

"I will do it, I will, so please!"

Then Igor kicking Winston's head, who is already dead and now is lying on the ground, Igor smashing Winston's head until his shoes are full of blood.

"Farewell, you Britis!" - Igor says to Winston

Then Igor orders Francois and his men to load everything they brought into the Humvee car, then starts the engine and go away, the car's sound makes John and the others waking up, John then runs outside but it's too late, Igor and his men had gone away.
