It was strange. My older sister with her boyfriend. He was nice and charming but, since I was my sister younger sibling it felt my job not to like him. But my mind wanted to like him. He wanted to like me too. But I resisted. I loved my sister and wasn't going to get attached to a guy that would probably break her heart. My mind still fluttered about it when my sister told me he had a younger sister that was my age. Her name was Annie. My sister's boyfriend sent my sister picture of her with her long red hair and bangs covering her forehead. Brown eyes and freckles. A cheerful spirit. I was at lunch chatting with my friends when a girl that looked familiar came up to me with some short dude.

"Hey, Olivia right?" She looked at me with a smirk.

"Uh, yeah?"

The girl laughed quietly and I suddenly knew who she was.

"Did you know that our-"

"Siblings are dating? Yeah."

I looked down at my food.

"Oh, well I'm Annie."

"I know." 

My friend looked like she was about to start laughing.

"What's so funny?" I asked.

"You!" She finally laughed, "Your so ridiculous."

"What? What did I do?!" I glared at her and then everyone started laughing. I grumbled to myself and caught Annie staring at me. She looked away and laughed with everyone else. 

A couple weeks later I was on a call with my friend. We laughed and talked but suddenly she gasped.

"Hold up . . . OLIVIA!  Annie is gonna ask you out! Let me put you on hold real quick-"

The call went on hold and I was speechless. A minute later my friend put the call off hold.

"Oh my god! She's gonna do it!"

In the group chat a new message from Annie came.

'Olivia?'

Oh my god. Was she actually gonna do it? 

'Yeah?'

'Okay here it goes. Will you be my girlfriend?'

I couldn't find the words. Her girlfriend?! She actually had just asked me out?!

"Oh my god Olivia!" I had forgotten my friend was on the phone, "Say yesss!"

'Sure'

'Yess! Wait, do you know who I am?'

'Yeah, your Annie'

'Okay, good'

I nearly yelled out for joy. Annie was my girlfriend now?! I nearly fell off my bed and my friend squealed on the phone. I told her that I should go and hung up. I went to bed peacefully that night.

The next week was the best. During the week Annie made me sit with her and her friends. She introduced me to them. There was Isabella, Eddie, and Jack. Jack was the short guy that had been with Annie when she had first came up to me. Eddie and Isabella were in my gym class. First thing that I made note of. I HATED Isabella. She would make fun of me when Annie wasn't around. None of my friends saw it so no one stood up for me. That day when I was sitting with Annie and her friends my friend Chloe came up and urged me to sit with them. I went back but asked if I could tell Annie. Chloe sighed and let me. I went up and put my arms around Annie from behind. I heard whispers from a group of popular girls. I heard one of them say,

"Annie and Olivia are dating?"

I told her and she smiled and said okay. I went back to my friends.

Another week later on a Friday and it was a party. Casual wear, boy and girl. It was fun. My friend had wrote a small letter with different love things on it and made me sign my name. I did and she ran off to Annie. Later I was hanging out and Annie and her friends came to me asking about the letter. Flustered, I ran off. My friend Adrianna took me aside and told me some shocking news. Annie was planning to break up with me. I felt tears stream down my face and I ran to the bathroom, my friends chasing after me. On my way there Jack asked what was wrong. My friends told him what had happened and Jack said that Annie was planning on breaking up with me but I didn't believe it and ran into the bathroom. My friends came after me a soothed me. Adrianna apologized many times saying that she hadn't wanted to be the one to tell me but she had thought I would want to know. I nodded and told her thank you. I left the bathroom and found a table. O sat down with my friends and Isabella came running over,

"Olivia! Annie doesn't wanna break up with you!"

"Yeah, like I'd believe you." I shot at her.

"She isn't lying. She's over there crying." Eddie came and pointed towards an area.

"Why would he be crying over something he was planning to do?" One of my friends asked angrily. 

Isabella and my friends began to have a heated argument and Eddie urged me to come. I listened to him and left the arguments behind. I ran to the spot, turned a corner and there was Annie on the ground crying, Jack's arm around her shoulder. He got up when he saw me and backed away. I sat next to Annie and tears began to find their way to me again. We talked and she told me she had been planning to but didn't want to anymore. We talked and I hugged and kissed her. I left and went home. When Friday tuned into Saturday I got the news that Eddie had wanted to kill himself and Annie was super stressed and wasn't sleeping. I got worried for her. Sunday I was laying Minecraft when I got a call from Annie. 

"Hey, um Olivia?"

"What's up?"

"I think it would be better if we were just friends."
