PROLOGUE
"Ruby it's time to go visit grandpa" called a woman in white cloak and with a pair of cat ears on top of her head.
"Mom, give me a moment. I need to take my bag" answered a young seven year old child with black red tipped cat ears and black tail swinging happily behind her as she ran towards her room.
"Be safe Summer and come back fast" said a man with blond hair entering the room.
"Taiyang, my husband take care of Yang while I am gone, she is still feeling unwell after getting sick. In case of emergency just call. Taking a buckhead to Menagerie should keep me in scroll contact range"
"Nothing's gonna happen. It's just a regular visit and the grimm on the road to the airport are way too outclassed in your presence my sweet kitty reaper" Taiyang finished with a teasing tonne.
"I'm ready! Coming now!" Ruby yelled as she used her semblance to move from her room to the living area where she attempted to stop in front of her mother, but the forward momentum caused her to stumble the moment she stopped using her aura power. She fell onto her mother who looked at her with a little worry and annoyance.
"Ruby, what did I tell you about using your semblance inside our home?"
"That I should use it only outside when you or daddy are looking at me, so that you could prevent any incident"
"And?"
"And that there are too many sharp corners inside home" Ruby added after getting reprimanded by her mom.
"Say bye now Ruby as we are leaving"
"Bye dad" she said with a smile on her face.
She was lifted off the ground by her father and he kissed her forehead and said while putting her back on the floor.
"See you next week little red" he then proceeded to mess her hair a little as she stepped back to her mother and said with a frown.
"I drink milk, I will grow"
"I know, I know Ruby. Be safe" he answered with a small chuckle and a big smile on his face.
She then followed her mother to the exit door and wore her thigh high boots and red traveling cape that she had gotten on her last birthday. As she finished wearing it, Ruby took her foot outside her home just a little behind her mother who now also was wearing traveling boots and a collapsed weapon on her back.
The outside was decorated by an early morning sun, small field of grass with dirt road going to the horizon and grimm populated forest surrounding it on both sides
She continued to walk alongside her mother, who was going though the road with a watchful gaze so she would react immediately in case of danger. This would be a long walk as they would most likely walk in silence for the next five hours and neither Yang, or Taiyang would be with them. After all, the most important rule on Remnant during travel was that there always should be at least one person to keep the constant vigilance in a group and they cannot be bothered nor relaxed.
They didn't know yet that it would be a long time for either of them to step back inside home.
