Year 864

Month 07, Day 13.

the Kingdom of Eden has fallen, the 5 Kingdoms are now in chaos, they didn't expect the Demon Lord would invade the Kingdom of Eden as their first invasion from around the world.

The Kingdom of Eden was located in the middle geography of the entire land masses. The Shadow World doesn't exist on the continent, they are separated from this world, they don't know how they are able to open a portal or a gateway to their world, and into Earth.

(An: If you like to know the reference of the land masses of the earth in here, check Pangea.)

Arcadia, on the other hand was carrying the Paladin from his back, he was able to wrap some improvised clothing for her wounds, He doesn't have any affiliation towards any major elements, except for Light Elements. Healing her would be considerably hard.

Light Elements is meant to fight, and purify against the demonic creature from this world. But his properties for Light Elements are for close combat that enhance his whole body, senses, and firing light projectiles.

On the other hand, The Paladin from her back is a different topic. The Paladin's are the users that are capable of using Magic and Light Elements properties for enhancement. They are the Paladin who can heal, Fight, and cast their own magic.

They are very rare to encounter, as they are the guardian of the Kingdom of Eden, and the main forces of the Pope.

Arcadia was walking towards the northern route, where the Elves and the Dragonoids are located. He doesn't have a map or anything to know their current location at the moment.

Since he is still inside the border of Eden, he recognizes the forest that he passed through. He was sure that he was inside the Narra Forest, the Main route for the Elven Empire.

The Narra Forest is the main trade route and Main road for the two nations to pass each other. But he doesn't have the choice for now, and heads towards the Empire of Yggdrasil, or known as the Elven Empire.

From the Horizon, they saw a massive tree that towers all. You can see it above the clouds, it was the Yggdrasil tree, or known as the Tree of Life in many elven myths.

Arcadia's first goal was to make sure that both of them would be safe from the roads. For he knows that the roads are infested with Monsters, or sometimes a roaming bandit, but with the Kingdom of Eden has fallen, it will be a higher chance for them to appear in the Narra Forest.

Arcadia could feel the immense pain from his whole body. Despite his abnormal recovery rate, he is still swelling in pain from that fight and especially that blast.

He groans in pain, he almost falls down while carrying the Paladin from his back, who is still unconscious.

"I must find a place where we can recover." He stated in his thoughts.

Arcadia was pushing his limits already, as he was carrying her for several hours straight without any rest.

He found a large tree, he placed the Paladin to lay her head in the Tree to let her rest more. Arcadia was now standing guard for The Paladin. Arcadia has no current weapons at the moment, since his sword was broken in the war and lastly from that blast of the demon lord.

He clenched his hands, while the wind blew throughout the forest, and lifted up his pure white hair towards the skies, revealing his pure white eyes along the way. His greyish armor has cracks on them, and he looked at the Paladin where she could see a clear look on her face.

She has a beautiful face of a maiden, she has blonde hair and blue eyes, with a damage of a grandiose of white armor, along with the skirt with the runes attached in her.

"I can survive here for 2 more days, before my hunger will start to appear. But, with her I must find some food to restore our fatigue." He looked towards the forest, where he could find some animals roaming around.

But he decided to stay, until she can finally wake up from the fight.

Hours had passed, while Arcadia sat still in the grass, while waiting for the Paladin to wake up from her sleep. Until he could hear a minor movement coming from her direction.

He quickly turned around, and saw her fingers were twitching to move. He stood up from his place, and casually approached the Paladin who was slowly waking up.

The paladin slightly jolted out of shock, as she opened her eyes and saw the mesmerizing clouds, but she could hear the faint sound the trees were making. She quickly realized that she was now outside the wasteland of the battlefield.

"MONSTER!" She shouted in an abrupt manner, she checked herself and she was covered in improvised bandage, her eyes landed on Arcadia. She is slowly recovering, her eyesight is a bit blurry but she recognizes that insignia of the armor of Arcadia was wearing.

"Knight of Eden, what happened to the war?" The Paladin asked nicely.

While Arcadia, just looked down in silence. "The Kingdom of Eden has fallen." He uttered in pain, the eyes of the Paladin were wide open due to shock.

"T-That's Impossible! The Kingdom of Eden is the strongest nation ever exis-" She stopped midway when, she saw Arcadia is clenching his own fist in anger and desperation.

She was quick to analyze the situation, but she just teared out of frustration, anger and terror. Her home land has been destroyed.

She put both of her hands in her head, she looked down and began to cry in sadness. "How is that possible…."

"Why?!"

"How did Eden fall…" She has so many unanswered questions, she couldn't hold back her tears.

Her heart was aching in pain, while Arcadia couldn't help but just watch her savior fall into depression and depravity of losing her homeland from the demon lord.

"Knight of Eden… can I request of you to leave me alone for a moment…" The Paladin said  with lifeless eyes, and a voice of melancholy.

Then it already reached dusk, the sky was a clear orange. Arcadia couldn't help but feel sadness from her, and the loss of his home and everyone.

The Paladin was looking depressed as if she had lost everything that kept her from moving forward.

Arcadia who stands beside her, to console her from her loneliness for the moment. For Arcadia the moment he pledges his life towards his saviors, he could feel the emotion of the Paladin. Her sorrow was like a mountain, or even a waterfall that kept moving and dragging anyone who got close to it.

The Arcadia's Pledge is not a normal pledge, it was a traditional Pledge by infusing your own Mana towards their heart.

The Arcadia Family has the ability to pledge themselves to the others, to be their knight. The Knight of Arcadia can feel the pain, and the emotion to those people who have pledged themselves.

The pain, and the suffering of the Paladin was immense, but he expected this to happen already when he pledged himself to her.

"I'm sorry for you to see a Paladin in such a state, and I am thankful for saving my life…"

"Arcadia…" He let out a soft word.

"Arcadia, thank you for saving my life."

"You don't need to say thank you, this is the price I must pay for saving me in the battlefield."

"I'm still grateful to your actions for saving me… I'm sorry for not introducing myself this early. I'm Sophia Von Aurelius. The Head Captain of the 4th Paladin." Sophia revealed her name, and Arcadia was silent.

"You're not that much of a talker are you?" She noticed.

Arcadia just nodded at her.

"Alright, then can you tell me… what has happened to Eden?"

"The Kingdom of Eden has fallen, the country is ruined… the battlefield is filled with lifeless corpses, but no signs of demons and a large portion of Light Magic is spreading through the battlefield… The pope Sacrificed his own body to give the whole world to prepare for the next Invasion." He said with such sorrow, his voice was empty and neglected.

"Thank you for telling me… if the kingdom has fallen… then we must uphold our next mission, Uniting the Entire world against the Demon Lord." Sophia stood up, and she used her remaining Mana to cast a Golden Light Magic Circle, it was a healing magic. "Heal." She uttered and removed all of the wounds of her body, and his.

Arcadia just bowed in respect, while Sophia just nodded at him. "Then Arcadia, do you wish to join me?"

Arcadia just kneeled down in front of her, causing her to be surprised. "The Arcadia Pledge has been upheld Sophia, For you are my savior in those battles, I will give my own life for you… Arcadia shall be your Knight."

She remembered in one of her textbooks, that the Arcadia Family are renowned for their will, determination and their righteous minds.

"Hey!? Why did you pledge your own life to me!?" Sophia was confused by his action.

"This is my own will to follow my savior through the battles."

Sophia was shocked and still confused at the current situation, she just sighed heavily.

"Then Arcadia, I Sophia Von Aurelius accept your Pledge!"

Sophia just accepted his pledge, since the textbook about the Arcadia's Family is complicated, but holds the value of a strongest knight.

"I thank you for accepting my Pledge." He stood up from his place.

"Then, we must proceed to the next location, the Empire of Yggdrasil. I do hope some of the Elven Priests of the Eden are safe, and maybe we can talk with them." Sophia pondered.

Arcadia, and Sophia continue their venture towards the Elven Empire without any weapons in their hands. Except their fist to defend their own safety.

But somewhere at the entrance of the Eden Borders of the Narra Forest. It was a multiple demonic beast, with a demon on its back.

They were the Chivalry of the Demon Lord. "I can feel the presence of those Eden minions!" A High ranking demon could be seen, as they venture inside the Narra Forest.

"Send the troops from the North West, and North East, I will take the northern route. We must circle those Eden minions and eliminate them! For the sake of the DEMON LORD AND HIS MIGHT THAT WILL CONQUER THIS WORLD."

Multiple demonic roars echoed through the forest, as their morale has gotten stronger.

While somewhere far away, there was a scout of Elven Soldiers in the Narra forest. They can feel the trees deteriorating and crying, as the demonic roars induce fear and death in their surroundings.

"The Demons are now in the forest." Said by one of the Elvish scouts.

"Good, Proceed to fortify the base even further, the sacrifice of the Eden Kingdom shan't be in vain."
