Videl

Videl couldn’t believe what she learned yesterday. That Gohan was the Golden Warrior but the more she thought about it the more it made sense. Videl had done her research on Gohan when Erasa had started showing interest in him. Videl may fight with Erasa and not agree with a lot of her choices, but Videl wouldn’t let her best friend get involved with someone without checking them out. Especially if that someone already had two girlfriends and was Bulma’s godson. Videl knew there was more to Gohan than meets the eye.

That’s why Videl decided to investigate him and while she didn’t really find much on him, she did find out that Gohan’s father Son Goku was the previous World Martial Arts Champion. Videl found out that Goku ended up proposing to someone named ‘Anonymous’ during the Tournament. ‘Anonymous’ turned out to be a woman named Chi-Chi. Goku and Chi-Chi got married and they had a son named Gohan. That’s where Videl’s investigation ended because they stayed off the grid for years, until Gohan moved to Satan City. “Pumpkin are you ok?” Hercule asked, breaking her out of her thoughts.

“What!?” Videl muttered looking up from the plate of food in front of her.

“I asked are you ok?” Hercule repeated.

“Y-yeah, dad just thinking.” Videl replied.

“…Is it about what we talked about yesterday?” Hercule asked.

“…Not really.” Videl replied, pushing the peas on her plate around.

“…Look Videl, I’m thankful that you’re helping stop crimes in the city.” Hercule started saying, trying to think of the right words.

“But?” Videl asked looking up at him.

“But you really need to talk with this tutor and get him to help you so you can start doing better in school. I’ve been told your grades are suffering and The Director of the school is saying that you may fail if you don’t start doing better. You may end up repeating the year.” Hercule replied, looking at her. “I love you Videl, but I want you to do well in school. I don’t want you to end up like me.” He added looking into her eyes.

“I…don’t worry dad, I’ll talk with him tomorrow.” Videl replied, smiling a little, a plan forming in her mind. If her plan works, she’ll be able to kill two birds with one stone.

“That’s great Videl. Thank you.” Hercule replied smiling at her.

“Yeah. Dad” Videl replied as they continued eating dinner.

Gohan

Gohan was slowly running down the hallway to class because he was running late since he had stopped a crime on his way to school. “Hey! Good morning, Gohan.” Someone cheerfully greeted him.

“Hey, Videl, looks like you’re late too.” Gohan said coming to a stop to see her leaning against her open locker.

“I got you now Gohan.” Videl said, slamming her locker shut.

“…What do you mean?” Gohan asked, tilting his head.

“I know your secret.” Videl said looking up at him with a grin.

“…What secret?” Gohan asked, as he began wondering what secret she could possibly know.

“I know you’re the Golden Warrior.” Videl answered.

“W-what!?” Gohan replied, scratching his cheek. “No, I’m not.”

“Ha!” Videl shouted pointing at him, “The only person I’ve seen scratch their cheek like that is the Golden Warrior and you.”

Gohan stopped scratching his cheek, glanced at his hand and put it down, “…I’m sorry Videl but that’s hardly proof.”

“You’re right.” Videl nodded, crossing her arms under her chest and closing her eyes, “But I should also mention that I overheard your conversation with your girlfriends the other day. I left my helicopter behind and turned around to get it and overhead the three of you before you left.” She continued.

“Please don’t tell anyone Videl.” Gohan said with a sigh, knowing that truth was out, because he remembered saying they should leave before Videl came back for the helicopter.

“Why shouldn’t I?” Videl asked, raising an eyebrow.

“I keep my identity a secret to keep my family’s privacy.” Gohan answered. “Is there a way we can keep this between us?” he asked.

Gohan didn’t like the smile Videl gave him before she answered, “Maybe, but you have to do something for me first.”

“What do you want?” Gohan asked.

“You have to tutor me.” Videl replied smiling.

“T-tutor you?” Gohan asked surprised, she would ask for that.

“Yeah, my dad has been on my case about my grades, and The Director of the school originally wanted you to tutor me, so that’s what I want.” Videl replied smiling.

“…If I tutor you, you won’t tell anyone I’m the Golden Warrior?” Gohan asked, not believing it could be that simple.

“Yup. I promise.” Videl replied, nodding her head.

“…Ok. I’ll tutor you.” Gohan said, seeing no problem with that, he didn’t like how she went about it but it was better than people knowing he was the Golden Warrior.

“Great.” Videl replied smiling and walking away.

“Can’t believe it was that simple.” Gohan muttered to himself as Videl turned a corner before stopping to turn back around.

“Oh, and two more things.” Videl said, smiling.

“Of course.” Gohan sighed, mentally cursing, “What is it?”

“You have to enter the upcoming World Martial Arts Tournament and teach me to fly.” Videl replied.

“What? Why?” Gohan asked.

“Because I know you’re the previous champion’s son and I think it will be good press with the champions daughter facing the former champions son.” Videl answered. “As to why I want to learn to fly there’s nothing much to it, I just want to learn. See you later.” She said waving and leaving before he could think of a reply.

“…Did I just get blackmailed?” Gohan muttered to himself, “Huh… I don’t know how to feel about that…Crap. I’ll worry about it later.” He muttered hurrying to class because he was late thanks to his conversation with Videl.

--

Vanadis

“…So, yeah that’s what happened.” Gohan finished.

They were sitting in the living room as Gohan had come home from class to tell her and Zangya about Videl blackmailing him and her conditions for not telling everyone.

“Why don’t you just use your cloning technique and have The Golden Warrior and Gohan in one place that way you can discredit her.” Zangya replied.

“…because I didn’t think of that at the time.” Gohan muttered, scratching his cheek.

“Huh?” Zangya muttered, tilting her head to look at him.

“What?” Gohan asked.

“Despite what happened Videl has a point, you do scratch your cheek when you’re nervous.” Zangya replied pointing at him.

“Crap…” Gohan replied putting his finger down, “Yeah, I’ve been trying to stop since she pointed it that I did that.”

“I never mentioned it because I like that you do it.” Vanadis said, speaking up for the first time since Gohan had told them what happened.

“R-really!?” Gohan muttered.

“Yes, especially when your face goes red like now.” Vanadis replied smiling as Gohan’s face indeed turned red.

“Oh! Yeah, it’s adorable!” Zangya chimed in, grinning.

“Come on guys.” Gohan muttered, reaching to scratch his cheek again but stopping. Until Zangya reached out and lifted his hand up and moved it up and down for him. Despite the situation Gohan did laugh a little as he tried to stop Zangya, but she jumped on him. “Z…come on…stop.”

“Ok, enough. Let’s talk about this.” Vanadis said, shaking her head as Gohan and Zangya descended into wrestling with each other a bit.

“What are you planning V?” Zangya asked looking up from where she was pinned under Gohan who had flipped her around.

“That depends?” Vanadis replied.

“On What?” Gohan and Zangya asked.

“On if you really want to meet her demands.” Vanadis replied.

“…I don’t mind tutoring her or teaching her how to fly but I don’t like that she blackmailed me into agreeing.” Gohan answered after thinking about his answer. “I also don’t want to enter the tournament since it won’t be a real challenge.”

“Ok so you’re saying that if she asked nicely, you would have agreed?” Zangya asked, sliding out from under him since he had let her go.

“…I don’t know maybe.” Gohan shrugged, “…she’s a decent fighter and she seems genuinely interested in wanting to learn how to fly. I mean she didn’t dismiss it as tricks like her father so that makes her slightly better.” He expanded.

“…Ok, if that’s how you feel, then will you be ok with me talking to Videl?” Vanadis asked, looking at him. “I’m going to let her know that normal people don’t blackmail someone when they want a favor.”

“Ok, sure.” Gohan replied giving her a smile.

“Thank you.” Vanadis replied, returning the smile, feeling warmth inside her chest at how quickly Gohan answered placing his trust in her.

“No problem. V.” Gohan replied.

--

Finding out where Hercule lived wasn’t hard for Vanadis so once she figured it out, she headed out in a Hover Jet, she already knew what she was going to say. Vanadis wasn’t going to Videl blackmail Gohan, he was too kind for that type of manipulation, especially from someone he considered a friend. Vanadis knew that Zangya felt the same way, which is why Vanadis asked Zangya to let her handle this and she agreed knowing that this required a gentler touch.

Vanadis flew over the mansion and frowned at the large hedge maze behind it; the maze was cut in the shape of Hercule’s face. She shook her head and landed outside the walls of the mansion. Vanadis could have landed inside but she had manners, “How can I help you?” a maid asked walking outside the mansion.

“Hello, will you please let Mr. Satan know that Vanadis is here to see him.” Vanadis answered.

“May I ask what this is about?” the maid asked.

“It’s regarding Ms. Videl’s tutor.” Vanadis replied.

“Oh! of course I’ll let him know please wait here.” The maid answered before turning around to enter the house.

Vanadis didn’t have to wait long before the maid came back with Hercule rushing beside her, he did come to a stop as a bead of sweat started forming on his forehead when he saw her. “M-Ms. Vanadis.” Hercule greeted after clearing his throat, “How can I help you?”

“Like, I told your maid, I’m here to talk about your daughters tutor.” Vanadis replied. “I believe this would be best discussed inside.”

“O-Of course.” Hercule nodded, “Maria please prepare some drinks and snacks for our guest.” He added turning to the maid who nodded before leaving. “Please follow me.”

Vanadis nods and puts away her Hover Jet before following Hercule, she internally sighs at all the extravagant things inside the mansion, she does notice that Hercule is nervous as he leads her to living room. “Is your daughter home?” she asked breaking the silence.

“I…she should be.” Hercule asked, turning to face her, “D-do you want me to send for her?”

“Yes, please.” Vanadis answered, “This does concern her after all.” She adds smiling at him.

“V-very well.” Hercule nodded, “Maria will you please tell Videl to come down here.”

Maria nodded and left after placing the drinks and snacks, “This is good tea.” Vanadis said, crossing her legs and taking a sip of the tea Maria brought.

“What’s up dad!?” Videl called out a few minutes later entering the room before stopping her eyes going wide seeing Vanadis calmly sitting there, eating some cookies and drinking tea. “V-Vanadis!? What are you doing here!?”

“Y-you know her!?” Hercule asked looking at Videl, who nodded slowly.

“S-she’s…umm.” Videl stammered trying to come up with a good description.

“I’m the girlfriend of the tutor she blackmailed today.” Vanadis answered, taking another sip of her cup of tea.

“W-what!?” Hercule exclaimed looking at Vanadis, “Videl is this true?”

Videl at least had the decency to look embarrassed before she nodded, “H-he told you?” she asked looking at Vanadis.

“Of course he did.” Vanadis replied, putting her tea down, uncrossing her legs and standing up, “As soon as he got home today. I told him I would handle this, so that’s why I’m here now.” She said walking up to Videl.

“There’s nothing you can do, to change my mind.” Videl said, looking up at Vanadis, “If he doesn’t want me to tell everyone his secret he has to agree to my requests.” She said not backing down.

“Oh, there is something I can say to change your mind.” Vanadis replied, with a smile as she calmly looked down at Videl. Vanadis was mildly surprised that Videl didn’t say Gohan’s name out loud, it seemed like she could keep it to herself.

“Oh, yeah!?” Videl asked, “What!?” she said crossing her arms and smirking.

“Yes, if you expose his secret, I’ll expose your father’s secret.” Vanadis replied, smiling as she heard Hercule gulp.

“…What’s she talking about dad!?” Videl asked, turning to look at Hercule, who was starting to fidget nervously.

“Oh!” Vanadis smiled, “You don’t know?” she asked glancing at Hercule who was starting to sweat.

“Don’t know what!?” Videl asked, eyes going from Hercule to Vanadis.

“I…nothing Videl!” Hercule stammered.

“Before you try to deny it, I should let you know that King Furry knows the truth as well and if the need arises, he’ll tell everyone the truth.” Vanadis replied smiling.

“What!?” Hercule exclaimed.

“Yes, he kept it a secret because ‘He’ asked King Furry to.” Vanadis said, “Now if you daughter continues down this path, then I’ll tell the world the truth. How do you think the world will react to the truth coming out with King Furry backing it up.”

“I…I... what do you want?” Hercule asked.

“Dad!?” Videl exclaimed looking at him.

“Nothing from you.” Vanadis replied shaking her head, before looking at Videl, “Despite being blackmailed he says he’ll agree to your requests on two conditions.”

“W-what!?” Videl uttered clearly surprised.

“Yes, he’s kind like that.” Vanadis said, smiling a little before looking at Videl, “He wants you to apologize for trying to blackmail him. He even said that if you ask nicely for the other requests, and he’ll consider them.”

“W-what you can’t be serious!?” Videl exclaimed.

“I am completely serious.” Vanadis replied, “Think about what you’re going to do. Thank you for the tea. I’ll see myself out.” She added walking out.

“Wait!?” Videl shouted, “Dad what is she talking about?”

“I…I’m sorry honey.” Hercule muttered collapsing in the chair behind him as he stared off into the distance.

“Dad!?” Videl exclaimed, rushing over to him.

“Looks like you need to have a conversation with your father.” Vanadis answered, using that moment to leave the mansion.

Vanadis left the house and got into her Hover Jet already flying home she didn’t like what she did, she knows she should have come up with a better plan then blackmailing someone back, but she wasn’t going to sit back and watch her man be blackmailed. Vanadis got a little angry that someone Gohan considered a friend would blackmail him, he was too kind to go through something like that. Since her plan wasn’t the best, she was already thinking of a backup plan if things didn’t work out, she was thinking they could use the dragon balls to erase everyone’s memories if it comes to it. Shenron had unlocked her memories earlier so it should be able to erase everyone’s memories if Videl told everyone the truth.

Gohan

“What did Cooler say?” Gohan asked, hearing Zangya enter the living room. Zangya’s communicator had gone off a few minutes after Vanadis left.

“…Cooler said he’ll be here the first week of May.” Zangya replied, walking up to Gohan and showing him the message.

“Huh…That’s in a few days.” Gohan said, glancing up from his homework.

“Yeah.” Zangya replied, “…do you think Bulma can get the tournament set up in such short time?”

Gohan smiled at the question, “Yeah, Bulma should be able to get everything ready, she’s been preparing for it since the pool party. If she needs any extra help, I can skip a few days of school to help and I know V, will too.”

“You skip school?” Zangya asked, smirking at him.

“Yeah.” Gohan chuckled, “…I think I might just graduate early.” He added with a sigh.

“Really?” Zangya replied surprised, “Are you sure?”

Gohan shrugged, “Yeah, I don’t feel challenged, and this whole thing with Videl kind of ruined the High School experience. I just want to move on.”

“If you’re sure, then do it.” Zangya replied, giving him a hug

“Thanks, Z.” Gohan said, returning the hug.

“Of course that’s what a girlfriend is for, to support her boyfriend.” Zangya replied giving him a quick kiss, “But make sure this is what you really want, because once you do this you can’t undo it.”

“…yeah, that’s why I’m going to use the days preparing for the tournament to really think about my decision.” Gohan replied pulling Zangya into his lap and holding her.

“Good, now you should let Bulma know that Cooler is coming, before I drag you into your bedroom.” Zangya replied kissing him again.

“…Fine.” Gohan sighed after Zangya pulled away and walked away, “I’ll be back.”

Gohan shook his head with a smile as Zangya left with extra sway in her steps, he sighed and then focused on the familiar group of energies at Capsule Corp and used Instant Transmission. Gohan found Bulma in the lab, he quickly told her what was going on. “Hmm…yeah I should be able to have things done especially if you and Vanadis help out.” Bulma replied.

“That’s great.” Gohan said, smiling at her, “Yeah, of course I’ll help out.”

“Good, we still need to fine tune the barrier to protect us mortals against the fallout from the battle and create some equipment so we can actually see what’s going on instead of just sitting there wondering.” Bulma said.

“Of course, just tell me what you need.” Gohan replied, with an eager grin.

“Hold your horses.” Bulma said, smiling and holding her hand up.

“What’s wrong?” Gohan asked.

“I need you to get actual headcount of who’s actually fighting in this tournament so that we can make the brackets, to make sure it’s fair for everyone.” Bulma replied.

“As long as I can fight Cooler, I don’t care how this tournament goes.” Vegeta said walking into the lab.

“Oh, you guys are having a tournament!?” a familiar voice asked. “Sign me up too.”

“Dad!? Is that you?” Gohan asked looking into the sky.

“Yeah, hey son long time no see.” Goku replied.

“What’s up dad?” Gohan asked, smiling.

“Just the usual.” Goku replied.

“Are you, serious dad?” Gohan asked happily, “Are you really coming to Earth?”

“Yeah, Fortune Teller Baba says she can give me a day pass to visit.” Goku explained, “If you guys are holding a tournament than this is the best time to use it.”

“That’s great, Dad!” Gohan exclaimed.

“Heh, seems like this tournament is going to be more interesting than I thought.” Vegeta grinned, “You better be ready Kakarot, I’ve been pushing myself harder than ever.”

“So have I, Vegeta.” Goku replied. Gohan could hear the happiness in his dad’s voice. “This is going to be fun.”

“Yeah, it is dad.” Gohan replied grinning, “I can’t wait to let the others know.”

“It will be great to see everyone again.” Goku replied, “Let me know when the tournament is going to be and I’ll be there.”

“You got it dad.” Gohan said, looking at Bulma.

“I’ll need to finish a few projects for the tournament, but I’ll let you know.” Bulma replied.

“Sounds, great, just let Gohan know when, he knows how to contact me.” Goku said, “I can’t wait to see you guys again.”

“This is great news.” Gohan replied smiling, at Bulma.

“Yeah, your mom is going to be so happy when you tell her and so will the others.” Bulma replied nodding.

“Yeah, I’ll go let them know now, and I’ll be back tomorrow to help with whatever you need Bulma.” Gohan said, grinning at her.

“Sounds good, see you tomorrow, Gohan.” Bulma said, waving at him as he used Instant Transmission to leave.

--

Gohan used Instant Transmission to go tell Piccolo the news first, “So, Goku is coming back for the tournament?” Piccolo asked, smirking at him.

“Yeah, he just contacted us to let me know.” Gohan answered smiling.

“That’s great news.” Dende said, smiling at Gohan.

“Yeah, it’s been a while since I was able to see him again.” Gohan nodded.

“This Tournament is going to be good.” Piccolo replied, “Although I wonder if one day is going to be enough so everyone can get a chance to fight.” He added.

“Oh! yeah, you’re right.” Gohan responded, crossing his arms and nodding, “…depending on how long the fights last, dad’s time limit could end before the tournament ends. Oh! Well, I’m sure Bulma will come up with something.”

“That’s true.” Piccolo nodded, “Well you already knew I was going to fight but now I have extra motivation to enter. If we end up fighting you better not go easy on me.” He said looking at Gohan.

“Oh, I won’t.” Gohan replied grinning at Piccolo, “In fact would it be ok if I stop by sometime to use the Hyperbolic Time Chamber?” he asked turning to Mr. Popo who was watering his plants.

“Hm…yeah, sure kid.” Mr. Popo said.

“Thank you.” Gohan nodded.

Mr. Popo didn’t say anything he just nodded and went back to watering his plants that smelled like Skunk, “Who else is entering?” Piccolo asked.

“Well, so far there’s three people I know for certain, You, Vegeta and me.” Gohan answered, “But I think more people will join once I let them know my dad is participating.”

“You have a point.” Piccolo nodded, “I do have a question though.”

“Yeah?” Gohan asked.

“Why didn’t you just use that phone you made to let everyone know?” Piccolo asked.

“I felt it would be better to let everyone know in person.” Gohan answered, “Also you don’t have one so I wanted to come up here to tell you and I need to visit Master Korin to see if he can spare some Senzu Beans for the tournament.”

“That’s not a bad idea, especially with how these fights may turn out.” Piccolo nodded. “I’ll ask him, you need to go let the others know.”

“Really?” Gohan asked, “Thanks, Piccolo.” He added when Piccolo nodded.

“Yeah, kid, see you soon.” Piccolo replied, smiling at Gohan as he raised two fingers to his forehead.

“Wait, awhile back after we had our spar you got this worried look on your face and you said that you needed to talk with Dende about something. Do you remember that?” Gohan asked, putting his fingers down.

“Yeah.” Piccolo nodded, “What about it?”

“Is everything ok?” Gohan asked.

“…I don’t know.” Piccolo answered, “I thought I felt a disturbance that day, but when I came to speak with Dende, we didn’t find anything.”

“Hmm…ok well let me know if I can do anything to help.” Gohan said focusing on Krillin’s energy.

“Yeah, you got it.” Piccolo nodded before Gohan disappeared.

--

Gohan had made the rounds letting everyone know that the Tournament was on and that Goku was coming back, Krillin had expressed interest in fighting but had some doubts about winning especially with the fact that Cooler and his men were coming but Krillin said he would be there. Android 18 had asked what the prize would be, Gohan didn’t know but he told them that Bulma was handling it so Android 18 said she would talk with Bulma before deciding if she would participate. Master Roshi wasn’t going to fight but he would show up as well just to see Goku.

After visiting Krillin, Gohan Instant Transmissioned to Tien and Chiaotzu to let them know as well, Tien was all up for another fight with Cooler’s men especially with Goku coming back, Chiaotzu wasn’t going to fight but he would be there as well. Then Gohan went to let Yamcha know, he was excited to see Goku again and was thinking of participating but wasn’t sure since he hadn’t been keeping up with his training. Gohan said it didn’t really matter but he could still come to see Goku again, Yamcha agreed and even said he would provide food, water, towels and anything else they’ll need even if he didn’t fight.

Gohan nodded goodbye to Yamcha and then he Instant Transmissioned to Mount Paozu.

“Kakarot is truly coming back?” Raditz asked.

“Yeah.” Gohan smiled, “He’s coming back for a day.”

“That’s so great!” Chi-Chi exclaimed.

“Dad’s coming back!?” Goten asked, looking up at Gohan.

“Yeah, we get to see him again.” Gohan nodded, smiling at him.

“Yippie!!” Goten shouted.

“It will be nice to see Goku again, after so long.” Good Launch said, smiling at how happy everyone was.

“It will be nice to see Uncle Goku.” Ginnie replied.

“Yeah, it was nice getting to see and train with him in Other World, but I always felt a little bad that you guys weren’t able to see him.” Gohan said.

“Hey, it was fine especially since we were able to pass messages along with you.” Raditz replied, patting Gohan’s shoulder, “But I hope you know that I won’t go easy on you if we’re facing each other in the tournament.”

“I hope not.” Gohan replied grinning.

“Hey, I want to fight too.” Ginnie said looking up at the two.

“Hmm…I don’t see a problem with that.” Raditz said.

“Yeah, I want to fight too!” Goten replied.

“No absolutely not!” Chi-Chi exclaimed crossing her arms looking down at Goten, “I won’t let you fight especially with grownups.”

“But come on mom, I want to fight too!” Goten exclaimed. “It’s not fair Ginnie, gets to fight.”

“No, I already said no!” Chi-Chi said, shaking her head, “If your uncle wants to let Ginnie fight than I can’t do anything about that, but I do have a say in if you fight with grownups.”

“…Mom, how about I talk with Bulma about having a little pre-match between Ginnie, Goten and Trunks that way they can fight without having to fight in the grownup match.” Gohan suggested when Goten turned to look at him.

“Really?” Chi-Chi asked.

“Yeah, I heard that this year’s tournament has a junior division we could do something like that. That way Goten can fight but he won’t be at risk of fighting with the rest of us.” Gohan said.

“But…” Ginnie started saying before Raditz placed a hand on her shoulder and shook his head at her. Ginnie frowned and crossed her arms but stayed quiet.

“…Fine if Bulma agrees to make a pre-match for the kids than I don’t see a problem with Goten fighting.” Chi-Chi agreed with a reluctant nod.

“Thank you mom!” Goten shouted, hugging her tightly.

“…you’re welcome.” Chi-Chi sighed as she returned the hug with a smile on her face.

Videl

“Huh?” Videl asked, turning to look at Erasa, entering her room.

“I said that I brought your homework.” Erasa said, placing it on her desk. “But now I have to ask if you’re, ok?”

“Y-yeah, I’m fine.” Videl said quickly, turning away from Erasa.

“Yeah, sure pull the other one.” Erasa replied, not convinced.

“I said I’m fine.” Videl repeated.

“Videl, I’ve known you since we were kids. I’ve gotten pretty good at learning when you’re lying and right now, I know you’re lying.” Erasa replied, before throwing herself on her bed, “But I also know that when you get like this you won’t talk until, you’re ready so I won’t push you for now.” She said with a sigh.

“…thanks.” Videl replied.

“Yeah, sure. That’s what sisters are for.” Erasa replied turning to smile at her, “You know, you’re not the only one who’s taken a few days of absence from school.”

“Really?” Videl asked looking at Erasa.

“Yeah, Gohan took a few days off from school as well.” Erasa answered.

“What!?” Videl replied.

“Yeah, according to Ino you know The Directors daughter, apparently Gohan was also excused from school for a few days.” Erasa replied.

“Does she know why!?” Videl asked sitting up a bit.

“…according to Ino. Bulma from Capsule Corp called saying they needed Gohan’s help with some project and that he was going to miss a few days.” Erasa answered after giving Videl a look.

“Do you know if that’s true?” Videl asked.

“…Yeah, I messaged Zangya when I heard and she told me the same thing.” Erasa replied, “But why the sudden interest in Gohan?”

“I…what do you mean?” Videl asked, looking away from Erasa.

“I mean, you told me that you weren’t interested in Gohan. You told me that you were more interested in the Golden Warrior.” Erasa teased.

“I…I never said that!” Videl exclaimed, who despite who conflicted thoughts blushed.

“I hope not, I don’t want more competition for Gohan’s attention.” Erasa replied smiling at Videl. “Although if it’s you, I don’t mind sharing.” She grinned at Videl.

“I…I got to train for the tournament!” Videl replied, getting out of bed and pulling Erasa up, “Thanks for brining my homework. See you later.” She added gently pushing Erasa out of her room.

“Woah! Take it easy!” Erasa exclaimed looking back at Videl pushing her from behind.

“Bye, Erasa.” Videl said closing the door behind Erasa.

“…alright bye.” Erasa muttered before walking away.

Videl held the door closed before internally wincing at how she reacted, but she was still reeling from her dad coming clean about the truth of The Cell Games. After Vanadis left, her dad poured himself a drink, something he hadn’t done in years, then he told her everything. Videl still couldn’t believe it but the more she thought about it the more it made sense and it also cleared up a few questions she had.

As a kid Videl had truly believed that her dad defeated Cell but then the Golden Warrior showed up in Satan City and she thought he resembled the kid from the Cell Games video before the cameras were destroyed. Videl did the math and figured that the kid would be close in age to her and she wanted to get closer to him to learn more about him and the more she saw him and fought with him the more she saw that the so-called ‘tricks’ were real.

Videl wanted to ask him to train her, but she didn’t know how to ask him but then she learned that Gohan was the Golden Warrior. With what her dad told her Videl now knows that it was very likely that Gohan was the kid at the Cell Games, which means that he also knows the truth about what happened.

Videl knows that trying to blackmail Gohan was wrong and that she shouldn’t have done it, but she didn’t really think her plan through when she found out. Videl still can’t believe that Gohan would still meet her requests as long as she properly apologizes. Videl sighed heavily before nodding to herself she knows what she needs to do she needs to go and apologize.

____

(AN: Here we go the last chapter before getting into the tournament. I hope you guys liked it, and that I covered everything well enough. One thing I’m debating is whether I should have the C.C Tournament take place on the same day as the main Marital Arts Tournament which is held on May 7th or on the 6th. I’m debating on having it a day early because that way Goku is back in Other World when the whole Buu Saga kicks off. Since this is supposed to be Gohan’s story. Although, I have a few ideas in my head that would keep the story interesting even if Goku is still involved.

Hopefully, I’ll figure it out while I’m planning the tournament brackets. Thank you for reading and if you find any mistakes, please let me know. Until next time.)
