After an afternoon of healing my leg and discussion, the time finally came.
I told Julia to silently call me so I could listen live, and if I needed to talk to her I can use the newly acquired mind link. If it wasn't for the expensive cost I would've let it on the whole time.

My leg was fully healed now so I rode with Julia to her apartement just in case Ren wanted to check on me.

After setting up the call, Ren arrived and Julia departed. So... here we go?

Julia POV

I descended the stair and joined Ren in the reception.

He casually saluted me and I had to repress the urge to vomit at his outfit. He was dressed in a yellow flash double-breasted suit with blue jeans and fucking flip flop. I was absolutely speechless by this horrible sense of fashion, and he seemed proud, way too fucking proud! What was I supposed to say? Should I compliment him? I really don't want to but I'm supposed to be hypnotized so.... urgh

¨I know right? I would look even better if I hadn't forgotten my shoes at my brother's place¨

I got into the car and we started driving. He had a dodge hellcat but while the exterior was pristine, the interior had clearly recently been removed of trash with extra cleaning. There were crumbs everywhere and trace of old spilled coke and other beverage so everything I touched was sticky.

He put on some reggae. I didn't expect that from him, I was sure he was going to put something douchy but I could get behind some B*b M*rl*y.

After 30 minutes, we arrived at the mansion. We quickly pass the security check and park in the driveway. It was a European-style mansion with a big driveway and a fountain in the middle of it.

As we exited the car, the door opened, and the family butler, Klahadore, greeted us. He is a short french man with a white beard and hair. He had a perfect suit that distinguish him as the lead butler. He used to be practically bald but recent progress in magical hair growth let him regain his hair.

¨Good day to you mister Phoenix, Julia, please follow me inside, monsieur Blade is waiting for you¨

We walked inside and Klahadore lead us to the dining room where my father was waiting at the end of a table

Ren was sited opposite him while I was next to Ren

My father looked at Ren and looked bewildered, surely because of his clothes. After gaining his composure back, he addresses us

¨So, you are Ren Phoenix, the boyfriend of my daughter?¨

¨Yes sir!¨

¨Good, even if it wasn't your intention, I would hope that your relation let the Blade and Phoenix guild grow closer¨

¨I hope so as well, my brother gave me this for you¨

He got a small package out of his pocket and handed it to the butler, who in turn gave it to Mr. Blade.

¨Great great, but this isn't why I called you here¨

¨Then... why did you call us?¨

¨Well, I came to know about an acquisition you made yesterday and would ask that you relinquish it¨

I was puzzled, what was he talking about? I looked at Ren and he didn't seem to have understood

¨What are you talking about, father?¨

¨I'm talking about the werewolf¨

Ren was shocked and exclaimed

¨How did you know!¨

¨Did you think that only because the leader is on your side the rest of the group is?¨

¨Ah¨

¨Anyway, what you did could be considered genocide and if it wasn't for me, the admin would already be at your door.¨

He looked at Ren as if he was an idiot, which he is

¨She is the sole member of her race and if you prevent her from expanding it then it's genocide. So don't go clinging to petty grudge and just leaves her alone. The admin is not the only one protecting her¨

I couldn't help but ask

¨ You are protecting her too?¨

¨No, I'm not. But if it wasn't for you two I wouldn't have intervened and let Dorothea kill everyone involved¨

¨Who's Dorothea? And why is she doing this?¨

¨None of your business, but I'm warning you, she's not someone even I can mess with so release the werewolf and stay far away from it¨

He turned back to Ren

¨Understood?¨

¨Perfect, now let's eat¨

The rest of the meeting was just us eating in awkward silence. When we were finally back in the car Ren said to me

¨Well, I guess you need to release her¨

¨Yeah... you are calmer than I expected¨

¨Well, I can't do anything and if it's Dorothea then I can't say anything¨

¨And who is she?¨

¨Can't tell you, I'm not even supposed to know. Anyway, let's just go back.¨

We then made our way back and he dropped me at my house

Natasha POV

Well, I wasn't expecting that. That's good, I don't have to pretend to be enslaved but who the fuck is Dorothea? She has the power to order the second biggest guild in America but I've never heard of her so she can't be from a good organization. And why would she protect me?

Anyway, after Julia came back, I left and got back to Claire's place. Of all the people I know, Richards has the most chance of knowing her. You know, being director of a U.N branch and all.

When I arrived, he wasn't home yet so I spent some time cuddling with Claire. I had to find a way to get back to Ren but I got no fucking idea what to do. I'm not strong enough to just go ahead and kill him since his brother wouldn't stand for it. I guess I have no choice but to let him live until I'm strong enough but what I can't do is let him run free with his hypnotism skill.

Hmmm, now that I think of it, I'm pretty sure the government wouldn't let someone with that kind of skill use it at will, there must be some restriction, right? Then the first thing to do when I get back is read the law. Aaaaaaaaaarg. I'm already bored just thinking about it. But I guess that if I get my own country I will need to do diplomacy and shit right? I'll need to find someone for that. Also, how will I call the country? What about the name of my tribe?

¨So it pretty much changes depending on the race¨

¨Yeah, but you don't have to worry, for now, she always waited that the tribe to get started before trying something, and even then it's my job to keep you safe¨

But what makes her really dangerous is that she is the leader of a cult-like mafia, where all members pretty much venerate her. Also, she's fucking crazy. She's an egomaniac with no respect for the life of others and is responsible for a third of the catastrophe in the world since 20 years ago¨

¨You know the undead plague of Italy in 2032?¨

¨Well, it wasn't some unchecked dungeon that erupted but her that wanted to know how the world would react to a zombie apocalypse. those zombies weren't monsters but people she kidnaped all over the world and experimented on¨

¨Because of a mix of corruption, race privilege, and religion. Because she's Zeus' daughter, the admin can't do shit. And she bribed a third of the government and another third venerate her who knows why. Since she got the majority of the world on her side, the rest can't do shit against her. The most we can do is make sure she doesn't bring too much destruction¨

¨Well, all we are sure about her is that she can change forms, so if anyone comes to you with a way too good deal or anything, be careful¨
