In the absence of love, there is only hate. From hate the Malice is born, and all evil things manifest.
-Witch Queen Elara
What follows are the testimonies of four witches who have been identified as conspirators in the “Witch Queen'' incident. I will record their stories exactly as they describe it to me, being thorough as to not neglect a single detail. I have compiled all the information in chronological order, though I shall also make a second version that separates the testimonies of each witch involved. It is my hope that in sharing this story with you, that the truth would be revealed. I, the truth seeker Ban, swear that everything in this book is as accurate as it can be to the events that occurred. Read and consider carefully the message that is to be found within this work.

I'd say this is not exactly the case as love is a pre-requsite to hate. It is the disrespect of love which hate is born
Not necessarily. You can hate someone for looking some way, with a zealous hate(Ex: Nazis), or hate something because of the smell. All without feeling anything prior. It's not black and white it's very greyscale.
I'd also add: you can both hate and love something, love and hate are actually very similar, and can sometimes turn from one to the other very easily. To truly love something, or hate something, you have to know it, understand it.
Pretty sure there's a quote that goes something like, 'The opposite of love is not hate, but apathy.'
The word "hate" here is being used in the context of bigotry, the quote is meant to sound like something out of a religious text
