"Hey, Lin?"

"Hm?"

"It still feels awkward that we didn't have much interaction with the main leads..."

Linda turned to face her pouting brother. She placed her book down and got up from her seat. Edwin with crossed arms looked up to find his sister right in front of him.

"Uhhh..."

She smirked at his awkwardness and patted his shoulder in understanding.

"No, I get it. But I think it's best if we interact with them when needed or once we are in the academy."

Listening to her, he blankly nodded his head in response and she let go of him and went back to her seat. Watching her position herself comfortably and open the book to read, he admires how she can stand reading all those heavy contents.

He glanced back to the door and thought about dragging Ian again to his play but then thought about Alastair.

'Maybe I should write another letter to him.'

It's funny they were able to write a letter despite being new to the strange languages and letters. What's even more hilarious is that the three of them are just 4 year-olds! Like how is that possible?

He chuckled at the thought that was circulating in his head.

"Ah."

A sudden realization struck him. Their mother. He wonders how she is doing, it's been already two days since they hadn't seen her.

"Hey hey! Lin, where exactly do you think mom is at now?"

Linda turned from her seat and stared at him blankly before closing her book. She tapped her index finger against her cheek for a few seconds before opening her mouth still in a daze.

"I'm not sure, after all, we can't forcefully open the mouths of Nadia or the others..."

Edwin pursed his lips knowing what she said was correct but couldn't help but let out a breath of frustration and his uselessness.

He took a deep breath and raised his head with a hopeful glee appearing within his eyes with a bright smile that Linda couldn't help but squint her eyes with the addition of his light blonde hair and golden eyes.

"I want to try training with the sword! And I'm sure since we are in a fantasy world filled with magic and money as nobles, we have stronger bodies than we were as modern citizens!"

Linda blinked in surprise at his words and brightened in realization. She never really thought about it, gazing at her curly blonde hair. Now looking back, all of the people they meet don't have the natural colors that they had back on earth and most have colorful hair and eyes that are considered fictional.

Thinking back, she remembered once their grandmother telling them a story of humans who gain colorful characteristics and have this strange power that goes through their blood different from the ones with natural characteristics who are just... ordinary.

There are also stories of the ones who was first born with flame-like hair and are considered a demon. A bad omen.

She looked up at her brother with the same gleam in her eyes and nodded viciously.

"We can—"

A loud explosion was suddenly heard outside of the windows making the twins jump in shock. They quickly ran towards the window to see nothing that seemed to bring any sparks or collision around or near them making them frown and feel insecure about this.

Nothing but peace has been with them ever since they came into this world. Well, minus those encounters and how they went out or ran off to places they weren't allowed to. What made them fidgety about this was the absence of the duchess making him feel unsettled.

"Elisa! Let's go and check with—"

"Young master! Young Lady!"

Amanda came in, bursting the door open, grabbing the twins into her arms as she took cover. Surprise and confusion filled them before they found the mansion shaking violently once then twice then nothing.

Horrified at what exactly is going on, they also find Drew coming in with a scary expression, easily scooping Amanda and the children into his arms, and Ian right behind him.

"My lords! Are you alright?!"

Linda came out of her stupefied state as she nodded in his direction for reassurance. Ian relaxed, smiling in relief but stood on guard, running to catch up to the captain's speed.

"Ian. Go meet up with the other knights."

"Captain?"

Ian nervously looked up at Drew unable to discern any idea what he was thinking due to the scary scar on his face and not his overall friendly but cold expression. This scared him so he decided not to ask any questions as he ran off.

Edwin couldn't help but tremble and panic surged in his head, making him dizzy. If what Drew said was true then he needs to hold on to whatever is there to come.

"Hold on tight!"

Drew gave a big grin as he held onto Amanda and the children tightly and ran even faster to the desired place he had inside his mind. For their safety.

Another earthquake occurred making Linda grip Edwin tightly and Amanda held them in her embrace and leaned towards her uncle's chest closer.

Dust flew everywhere as a huge impact fell in front of them. Drew gritted his teeth as he glared furiously at the figure behind the smoke.

"Well, well. This isn't good... Oh, how low have you fallen to become under someone?"

As the smoke slowly faded away, they noticed a wicked grin playing around on someone's half-disfigured face. Drew's expression crumbled into full hatred and resentment toward the person who stood before him.

"My dear hot-blooded shield warrior~"
