Chapter 23 – Structuring and Relocation (part 2)

"For now, we can only make it up to this stage. We still need more time to make it better in the future. But with the concealment we've created, it seems safe enough for strangers to find this place. "

We are currently in a room a few meters underground, more precisely under one of the rocks that we converted into a storage room in the Secret base.

As I did before when I made the basement in my house, we made a larger basement with several rooms inside and a more complex structure. We also made several layers of mechanisms using earth elemental magic and sealing magic to make it hard for anyone to enter this place easily.

So with this I have a couple of underground rooms under my house and plus the ones we're making now, we're kind of making a maze under this land. It takes a few days to get to this stage, and it's really fun for me.

If you're wondering why I've created so many underground facilities, it's probably because of the superheroes I've seen in comics, they have secret underground bases or caves on one of their properties. There are also those who have bases with super advanced technology, but unfortunately my ability to replicate such technology is still very far from reach.

Seeing things like that as a child is probably what made me start to get interested in things like secret rooms and underground facilities like this.

That's why after I tried using the abilities of my Familiar and was able to create those facilities more easily, I really enjoyed the process of creating them. Indeed, no matter how old, a man sometimes still has a childlike heart in one corner of his heart.

Other than for my own enjoyment, another reason I made the underground structure within the Secret base more complex was that I wanted to connect the dungeons we created with this underground facility.

What was interesting about the dungeon connected to the underground space was that when I used the sonar magic tool that I had developed and combined it with earth elemental magic, I could not detect the existence of the connected dungeon, as if the dungeon was in its own dimension.

For an explanation of the floor plan from the Secret base to the dungeon, we first need to go down to the lower chambers. There are two paths that connect to the underground room. The first path is in the room that is in one of the big boulders in the Secret base, on one part of the wall in that room there is a passage that goes downward, I deliberately made it like this so that Familiars can also go through it easily.

While the second path goes through traps at several points. This serves to make the beasts that enter the trap can be directed to enter the dungeon as a hunt for Familiars and also the rest can be used as nutrients for the dungeon. There are partitions on these two paths so there is no need to worry that we will meet wild beasts when we want to enter the dungeon.

If asked why I should pay attention to the safety of the first lane user, it might be because of the nature of most beasts in general who are savage and always attack whatever is in front of them. Like goblins, although they are not classified as strong but if they see prey in front of them, they will still try to attack. Only a few are not aggressive like that, maybe that's why the goblins who became my Familiars belong to a unique group and because of that, that might also be the reason for making them Familiars.

For additional information, although the number of goblins that have become my Familiars has increased, not all goblins encountered by me or those that have become Familiars can be tamed. If all goblins can be tamed, who knows how many goblins will become my subordinates. 

Regarding goblins, they have the same thing as in all the novels I've read, in this world we never seem to run out of goblins. Almost all goblins will act aggressively and attack other creatures be it beasts or humans.

Because of this, the paths connected to the trap holes I had taken very seriously to prevent us from being attacked in our own turf, considering that even the adorable horn rabbit didn't hesitate to attack any creatures. Any beasts that enter the traps or those who try to attack my Familiars around the Secret base, they will end up being the prey, Butcher ape and some goblins plus the skeletons can take the materian from the beasts and the rest will become nutrients for the dungeon.

Other than the two paths I just mentioned, there were still several rooms both small and large in this underground facility. When I arrived at the path connected to the dungeon, Gustav was already waiting for me there.

"This way please, sir. ", Gustav showed me the way into the dungeon, after walking for a few minutes we arrived at a room. "Just as you planned, sir, the path we just took is a shortcut to this room and can only be used with my authority as the administrator of this place. "

Gustav who is connected to Dungeon core is currently the administrator and lord of this dungeon, perhaps he is more suitable to be called as a dungeon master.

It was because of that, too, that it would now be difficult for him to leave this place. The dungeon needed nutrients from the remaining living creatures and mana supply, and since the magic crystal that used to be the source of mana for this dungeon was still being purified, Gustav was now the source of mana supporting this place.

That's why I spent the past few days taking the time to renovate the underground facilities before finally activating this dungeon again and making Gustav have to stay here until we can find another mana source.

Regarding the dungeon magic crystal, it is currently in one of the basement rooms in my house, I put it there so that it won't bring influence like before for this dungeon and also the undead that are here.

But I didn't just leave it there as it was, I had installed several layers of barriers throughout the room. For the dungeon magic crystal itself, I soaked it in holy water that I changed periodically every few days, plus some light element talismans that I placed around the room.

Back to this place, the room we were in was the dungeon main room, where the dungeon core was located as well as Gustav's room.

The multi-purpose room I requested was a room that was quite spacious and had the strongest walls among all the other dengeon surfaces.

This room can be used as an evacuation site if something happens at the Secret Base on the ground, besides that this room can also be used as a training room without worrying about the conditions if someone wants to unleash all their strength.

And lastly, this could be the room that I use to test some objects that might be dangerous such as the magic item that I failed to make in the past and ended up exploding quite powerfully, shocking many people in the village.

Then for the last room, the room that stores the teleportation gate that I am currently researching so that I can reactivate it.

For example, when we are small and don't understand the concept of weight, we just guess whether we can lift an object or not, without knowing how many kilos of weight we can lift.

On the one hand, it doesn't matter, we will slowly understand it more clearly, however, we also can't fully understand it with such estimates for future considerations.

This skill was listed on Gustav's status, and this was the first time I saw it in person. A magic circle formation appeared on the dungeon floor and several undead emerged from the magic circle.

Hearing his words, I also wanted to try something, shere sense is one of the abilities obtained along with the beast tamers skill. Usually this ability is only shared from the five senses, but this time I want to try if this can feel what Gustav feels.

They looked like semi-transparent bluish fireballs floating in the air, perhaps like the will-o'-wisp image I had seen on the search site.

And just as Gustav explained they seemed to greet us, when I brought my hand close to them, they didn't mind and still freely floated here and there.

For the skeletons, the impression I got was like a stiff guard and only reported something to us, and the lesser zombies, yes there was no response whatsoever from them, just like dolls with rotting flesh bodies.

Suddenly, another idea came to my mind. I asked Gustav to order the lesser ghost to go to the other room and when the lesser ghost easily penetrated the wall, I asked Gustav to focus his mind on the lesser ghost.

We could see a good picture of the next room, even when Gustav tried to ask the lesser ghost, he could answer what was there.

"We could use them like security cameras!"

New ideas are popping up and this can be tried after this. Gustav who was listening to me looked at me and from the expression on his face, he was curious about what I had just said.

I explained to him and he heard what I meant, it seemed to have caught his attention as well, considering that in his previous life when he was a human, he was the one who commanded a fortress.

Back on the surface, the number of my Familiars hasn't really changed, it's just that the number of beasts around this place seems to have increased.

Now the Secret base has more storage space because the Familiars have gotten another place for them to live in according to their respective species. I also added a regular storage room without the gimmick barrier like the main storage room, but there are other things I want to try in that place later.

In addition, there is a cutting room for my Familiars' game, with the additional number of Familiars working there, I made it quite spacious, considering that the number of beasts that the Familiars hunt is quite large every day to fulfill their food needs.

plus the beasts that will enter the trap, we will have a surplus of meat in the future.

Really, it seems like my life now, is going in a more unexpected direction ahead...
