“Hey Elijah, why didn’t you tell me you were going to go out with Yenila?”

“Hmm?”

“…”

I continued to turn my back to Asher while walking.

But of course, him being him, Asher didn’t get the hint, continuing to follow me.

“…alright. I see where this is going.”

What?

What the hell is Asher going to do this time…

He always had a way with annoying the hell out of me when we were kids.

Tap tap. He reached for his phone and did something.

Ah. I had a bad idea of where this was going.

I should hurry and find Yenila, who already forgot her promise and had run off with Kaida.

“Yenila? Yenila!”

I called for Yenila while walking around, starting to panic after around five minutes or so without a response, only to turn a corner and find… Yenila and Kaida…

Playing with Lucas while Lacey offered them soda cans.

If anyone saw this scene they would think HE was the older brother.

“…”

For the next few minutes I stood while being ignored by the trio who proceeded to have the time of their life.

I eventually turned around at the sound of footsteps.

Hah?

Standing before me was Asher.

Accompanied by none other than Amber and a stone faced Julian wearing cat ears.

Knowing him, he probably lost a bet with someone, Amber was giggling so it was probably her. (And knowing her, it was probably a bet on something about Asher.)

“Ah. Elijah.

There you are”, Amber said.

“Yenila was asking for us to find you.”

…what?

She scowled and continued on,

“How pointless. I’m totally better company and WAY more fun than someone-“

Her eyes scanned me up and down before she scathingly spat,

“-Like you.”

Was she… jealous?

I knew it, my Yeni was very charming, no one can amount to her adorableness.

But even so, to imply that she could be a better sibling to Yenila then me.

The sheer audacity of this little…

Hmm.

A thought suddenly struck me.

What if…

I smirked.

“Hey Amber. Let’s make a bet.”

She raised an eyebrow, suspicious of my expression.

“Lets see who Yeni spends more time with.”

“Deal. WHEN you lose, you owe me big time.”

I snorted, “Same goes with out, you better hold up your end of the deal.”

She was basically suiciding, I know my Yeni more than I know myself.

Amber's face distorted into a scowl.

‘Ah. I… see what this is about.

Prepare to face defeat.’

Was probably along the lines of what she was thinking.

Bring. It. On.

We both headed to the laser gun aiming station where Lucas was distraught after losing to Julian, five nil.

On the sidelines, Yeni was cheering on Lacey who was preparing to face Julian when suddenly-

-BANG!

The doors slammed open to reveal Stacy.

Don’t get me wrong.

It’s not like I liked her or anything.

She would be an annoying younger sister to me if anything.

The following description is totally 100% my objective opinion.

‘…’

I stared speechlessly.

With the light hitting her from behind, the scene would have looked picturesque.

If only she didn’t look like she ran ten marathons in a row without rest.

But still…

What the hell was up with her and dramatic entrances?!

How annoying.

She disrupted my grand plan: Operation humiliate Amber in front of Asher.

But now my plan turned to: How to pry this woman off my Yeni…

Yes, you heard that right.

Stacy swooned over both Yeni and Kaida as soon as she laid her eyes on them.

Pausing suddenly as if a realization struck her, she turned to me.

“You’re her brother right…?!”

“...Yeah…”

“How are you the product of the same parents?!”

Amber nodded grimly, “Elijah must’ve been adopted.”

It was Asher’s turn to join in.

“Right.”

That one word tipped me over my limit.

But of course, me being a responsible older brother I bottled it up.

“No way this angel is the sister of this.”

…or not.

I cracked my knuckles.

Someone needed to humble these arrogant rankers.

***

I sighed, flopping onto the bed.

So much happened today.

Amber almost confessed to Asher.

Lucas started calling me brother and followed me around like a lost puppy.

Julian discovered that he sucks at air hockey.

Lacey treated everyone to an all you can eat buffet, which of course I wasn’t going to let the chance slide.

Hey, those things were expensive, you know.

So naturally, I stuffed myself to the brim.

God knows where that food went.

But it’s alright.

The relieving part was the joint loss of Amber, Stacy and Asher.

Yea that’s right.

Even now, a few hours later, it revitalised me just thinking about it.

…HAHAHAHAHAHA NOW THE TOP THREE OF XIRA OWE ME.

Who knew they would suck so much at taking care of kids.

I spent half of my time working vigorously at part time jobs.

Then I discovered my talent at making children like me.

This made me really popular as a babysitter.

I could make anyone eat whatever their parents wanted.

I could make anyone fall asleep instantly.

I could make anyone stop whining.

It was easy money.

Money that helped alleviate some of the fees I needed to pay to attend Xira, something I couldn’t afford without it, even with my partial scholarship (a program for healers).

Well, they had indeed spent their time training or being rich little brats so I doubt they’d adapt to something like this so quickly.

If I had to point out a couple of things that still irked me:

Stacy.

Her whole existence was a menace to society.

First, the annoying act she puts on, acting as if she was superior than me, second, she has the audacity to like the most two faced brat ever, Kaida, and at the same time steal MY adorable little sister, by pretending to be sweet and kind.

Tch.

Another thing was the fact that Stacy started clinging onto me ever since I won that the bet.

BANG BANG BANG.

There she goes again, pounding at my door at 11pm

“E-li-jahhhhhh! What’s your se-crettttttt!”

“I don’t get itttt- why does Yeni-laa like you mo-reee.”

“I bought her everything she asked forrrrr!”

Drunk on self pity, she had continued to bother me nonstop.

Damn it, I preferred when she didn’t have anything to say to me, acting like she was naturally above me and all.

Why was she showing her true colours now?

“GO AWAY I’M TRYING TO SLEEP!” I groaned as I flipped over, face flat onto my pillow.

Wait… I was living in a dorm unlike the top rankers…

Why isn’t anyone complaining about the ruckus she’s making?

Usually someone would’ve called security by now…

Was it because she was an influential ranker?

Ah. If that was the case it would just make kicking her out needlessly more difficult.

…Woe is me.

Should I just report her for harassment? Well, I could try, but we both know what the outcome was going to be

I continued to plot ways to get rid of her for the next few hours until I fell asleep.

It was oddly therapeutic.

I guess having a busy day once in a while isn’t that bad.
