Journal Entry: Day 1

I am writhing this journal in English in the hopes that if it is ever found by the natives of this world, they will not be able to decipher it. As strange as it sounds I find myself transported to a fantasy world. I write in this journal my observations and everything new I learn about my skills, occupations, cards and stats. In time maybe even the world I am in. The place I found myself emerging in this world was, as I now know, a dungeon entrance, in what I could only stipulate is a teleportation room. Does this have any significance? For the moment I don’t know. What first clued me in that this was another world was a writhing on a wall and no, it wasn’t graffiti. The writhing was institutionally familiar to me, like it was a language I should know on the genetic level. Maybe this is what humanity spoke before they build the great tower of Babel? Yes, I know that sound silly, but it is what it is. After completely understanding the writhing, a prompt appeared in my peripheral vision, that I have learned a new skill. System support and skill learning exist only in video games and fictional novels, so I came to the conclusion I was in another world. Following fiction rules, once the MC finds he/she is in another world they start trying commands for menu, system, status and more. I did the same and found several notifications and my status, then gave my skill list a few glances. Tomorrow I will check them more thoroughly. I did check my Duel Monsters Shop from top to bottom and as the name implies, there are Yu-Gi-Oh! related merchandise inside. There was even a free Starter Deck waiting for me. The activation of the cards was a little troublesome, because I was under the false impression I just needed to pick a card and read it’s name to activate it due to the incident that send me to this word in the first place. What was actually needed was to activate the deck by placing it on the deck zone on the play mat, something else that came with the starter deck. After that I proceeded to clear 3 rooms of the dungeon while trying out the effects of the cards. So far I think I rank creatures correspond to 1 star cards, but since I don’t have any of those, I have been fighting with Spell and Trap cards. The problem is I don’t know how I am able to activate some of them. The occupation allows me to activate I rank Spells and Summon I rank Creatures, Machines and Items, but some of my Spells should be higher rank. Something else that is on my mind is my provisions. I only have enough food and water to last me tomorrow and the day after. I don’t want to think about eating dungeon creatures, because sadly I have seen Arifureta and don’t have magical elixirs to make me better. Maybe Dian Keto can fix me up, but better not risk it. I think I would have better luck with liquids. After all, dungeons do create and drop potions and elixirs that people can drink, so if I find some watering hole or potions I could probably cover my water shortage a little. Today I also learned how to exchange for the shop currency. I sold all the cards I would not be able to use for a long time and ones that are too dangerous for me to use. With that and the cores I sold I had enough to buy card sleeves that can retain magic, after which I charged all the cards, so I can use them anytime I need without worrying if I have enough magic. Right now, as I write this journal entry I have 120 Tokens in my account. It is a long way to reach the ones needed to purchase a booster pack.
