(Kasm)

“Deo!” Kest called out happily, as she pushed open the door.

Deo jolted a little in surprise, his eyes wide as he looked at Kest. She ran up to his bed, taking the hand laying on top of the sheets in both of hers and jumping up and down excitedly. “We’re going to share a room once you’re better! Let’s be best friends! My name is Kest.”

Deo looked around in a panic for a moment before his eyes settled on the mask hanging from her belt. “It’s nice to meet you, Kest,” he said, his voice a whisper and his hand pulling away from hers a little.

Kest suddenly stopped bouncing, “I’m sorry. You’re probably tired. I should leave you alone.” 

She started to pull her shaking hands away but Deo grabbed a tight hold of one of them. “Wait,” he said, still looking down. “Tell me more about where I am?”

Kest broke into a smile.
