The figure with the hammer stared at me standing at the same point where the impact occurred, in a hesitant attempt to say something, my lips couldn't form words, both because of the attack that affected my lungs and the fear that was inflicted.

The fear that made me shiver now was like a fear of something banal, making it much easier to resist, like a human fearing an insect, even if the reality was the other way around...

Biting my lip to resist the pain, I ran at full speed to get away, past the dry trees and gray grass so I could recover from the damage inflicted.
The pain was so bad I could easily pass out, my lips were bleeding from the force of my bite.
Fortunately, the figure that once stared at me seemed to have lost interest in a wounded, weak prey that couldn't even fight back.

"When I recover, you will be the first, you bastard" - I thought to alleviate the hatred present in me, that figure, no, that monster was despising me.

The pain that once weighed my body down and prevented me from thinking rationally was now gone, making my body feel lighter, along with the well-being that was provided by regeneration.

As I ran through that vast open field, I could see several shadows and figures passing in a disorderly way through that place, as if the world had been abandoned and left only with those monsters.

Looking in the distance, I could see that the ground began to have several irregularities, as well as several holes as it was covered, due to erosion caused to the soil by the apparent lack of rain and nutrients in the earth.

"There must be somewhere I can hide..."

Running now wasn't painful anymore, so it was easy to pay close attention to my surroundings, soon I could see a hole that I could hide from the shadows, and so maybe recover.
As I ran at full speed, I had to skid to a stop on the ground to avoid running into him, avoiding injuries at all costs had become my goal.

Looking up out of sheer reflex, I stretched my mace to block that attack from inside that small trench.

With all my strength, I pushed my opponent's weapon up with ease, he retreated back in the same instant, taking me out of the disadvantaged position.

The figure assumed a fighting stance, as if it had finally recognized me as its enemy or potential threat.
