After finishing eating the wolf and resting, Adam carried on walking up the mountain to get a vantage point to see if there are any civilizations nearby.

As he was walking up the steep incline he heard a loud squark to his right. As he looks over he sees a big, blue bird that looks somewhat like a massive vulture staring at him on the branch of a tree barely holding its weight.

'It definitely looks more powerful than that hungry wolf'

Adam slowly walked to the left backing off from the vulture as it continued to squawk at him.

Then it flapped its wings and took off to the sky flying above his head circling around in the air.

Adam stood on guard watching the bird circle around waiting patiently for it to make the first move, or else if he was careless it could kill him in an instant.

After a few minutes of circling the bird got impatient and swooped down towards its new meal.

Adam saw the bird coming at him so runs forward to try to dodge the bird. As it got closer to him he rolled to the side but the bird with its beak managed to nick Adam on his arm leaving a shallow yet long slash on his arm.

But at the last second when the bird was flying up again Adam reached out and grabbed the birds leg, then using all his strength he slammed the bird onto the ground.

Adam got on top of the bird and started to strangle its neck. The bird tried to struggle out of his grip and tried flapping its wings but to no avail because Adam held tight until he felt the bird no longer struggle and all its muscles relax.

He let go of the bird's neck and stepped away from the fresh carcass.

It was his second life and within the first day he had already killed two animals, he isn't proud of what he has done but realises he has to do this for his survival, whether he likes it or not.

He tore his arm sleeve off and wrapped it around his open wound to stop the blooding. He had already lost a lot of blood from the wolf and is feeling fatigued again after this fresh wound but nonetheless, he continued up the mountain leaving the bird's body behind him.

He left the body behind as to not hinder him as it would be difficult to carry such a large body up a steep slope with an already tired body.

Adam wanted to find a civilization as soon as possible, so he pushed his tired and injured body up the mountain's steep slope.

When he finally reached the top, glad that he did not have any more dangerous encounters, he looked around the island to only find lush green trees and shrubbery on the small island surrounded by a bright blue sea.

Adam started to lose hope and sat down on top of the mountain.

'There's nen in this world and one of the things I remember from the anime was wing saying the two ways to unlock nen as it was pretty significant to the anime, one way is to get someone to forcefully open it with their nen but I can't do that as there is no one around but the second way which is the longer way is to meditate and although it can take time it will help my survival by making me stronger'

'Calm down, relax, and feel within my body, nen is life energy or called aura, I need to open my aura nodes and control the flow of my aura to unlock my nen'

Adam concentrated on the feeling within his body while keeping his mind empty he knew meditating to open his aura nodes needed time but he still felt rushed since his survival was dependent on him learning nen.

After the sunset on the first day, Adam got up feeling rested after his hours of meditation to feel his aura nodes.

Although he did not succeed, Adam was not disappointed since he had no expectation to unlock them on the first time when it can take others possibly months or even in the worst cases years.

'Since its night and I won't be able to see clearly in the forest if I am attacked, I might as well stay up in the mountain and let my wounds heal and so I do not overwork my body'

Taking off the sleeve wrapped around the wound on his arm, Adam inspected it still expecting the wound to be bleeding but it was mostly healed only a slim cut now with no blood coming out. He then takes off his hoodie to look at his shoulder for the bite wound but it was already healed only leaving a slight scar.

'I guess God gave me more than a good appearance and a strong body it seems I am healing faster than normal, I might be able to survive in this forest until I find a way out after all'

'The forest is full of animals I have not seen in the anime before and they are as strong or stronger than an adult but if play it smart and cautious I might be able to hunt and lay low on this mountain until I unlock my nen then hopefully find a passing ship to sail me back to civilisation'

Adam then sits down again to meditate until it's day so he can start to hunt for some food in the wilderness.

After Adam starts to feel the heat of the sun on his face he stops meditating to open his eyes to the sun rising in front of him. He gets up and starts to walk back to the lake he found at the bottom of the mountain to hopefully this time find a weak animal that won't require a fight that he has to risk his life in.

As he draws nearer to the lake he starts to hear a buzzing sound, he begins to pull back the foliage in front of him to see a large bee hovering over a large flower.

'This bee is big but I think I can take it if I stay away from its stinger and damage its wings, I'm hoping its meat is not poisonous though since the stinger carries poison, considering its size it must hold a lot of poison which would definitely be deadly to a human'

Adam circled around in the bushes to get behind the bee so he could take it by surprise.

As he was behind the bee it started to turn around and fly over in Adam's direction. As it got near the bushes Adam was crouching in, Adam decided to lunge out and grabbed the bee's wing and tear it off to get rid of its aerial advantage and hopefully cause some damage.

The bee was too late to react and when its wing was torn off it fell from hovering over the grass and had to extend its thin legs to catch itself.

As it landed on the ground ready to attack whatever tore its wing off, Adam was already prepared to attack again.

This time though Adam ran forwards and swept the bees legs causing it to collapsed on its side.

As Adam stood up and was ready to finish the bee off with his fists the bee's stinger darted over towards Adam, Adam tried rolling away from the stinger but it managed to scrape his leg.

Adam's leg started to feel weak after the bee's poison got into his wound, but he forced his leg to move and walked over to the bee and with all his strength kicked it in the head.

It left a dent in the bee's head and it was still twitching after that blow so he kept kicking it over and over again until most of its head was dented in and the bee's green blood was oozing out.

The bee finally stopped twitching and curled up on the ground finally dead.

Adam pulled the bee and slumped it over his shoulder then walked back towards the stream.

He took a mouthful of water and sat down to wait for the poison to wear off so the strength in his leg could come back and he'd have enough energy to climb back up the mountain.

*************

After a couple of hours sitting by the stream while his wound healed and taking the fur off the bee by hand, he finally had enough strength back in his leg to move up the slope of the mountain.

While he walked up the slope he picked up bits of wood to make a fire yet again.

When he finally reached the top, he twirled a stick on top of a pile of wood until the wood was seen burning then blew on it until it grew big enough to start cooking the bee's flesh.

After eating the bee, he checked the position of the sun, which was almost setting, so he went back to meditating to unlock his aura nodes, he knew that with enough dedication he could unlock them.
