And on cue, a sign appeared on the doorway exiting the room.

 

“This is weird and I don’t like this.” Said Arsinoe.

 

“I know.” Patting her back to comfort her, “Just … Let’s just get this over. Let’s just go in and out.” Walking forward to the door and knocking it to emphasize the point.

 

“In and out. Just a 20 minute adventure.”

 

“.... Fine. Let’s just get our things. Ready.”

 

It took us around 30 minutes to get ready, from looking for backpacks to finding if there’s food available. Sadly, there wasn’t anything we could find in our search except for a sword of all things.

 

“Should I take it or you?” I asked Arsinoe.

 

“You know what? How about you? It says that you have the Essence of Warlord. Not sure what it exactly entails but I think it gives you some martial arts or something.” She shrugged as she handed me the sword. It was surprisingly light and having it on my hands, I could see it was in fact. A normal, but real sword.

 

“Yup, nothing special.” I said as I swung the sword randomly.

 

“And the fact that there’s no shirt, but just the things we’re currently wearing? What kind of shit is this?” She muttered with anger.

 

“I guess we’ll have to look for these things once we come out.”

 

“Tsk … Fine. Just In and Out?” She asked.

 

“Yup, In and Out.” I said as I walked up towards the door with the exit sign.

 

“Alright, and if anything happens, Brian? Know that I love you.”

 

A smile broke out in my face. “Love you too Arsinoe. Hopefully it goes all well.”

 

Opening the door to reveal a glowing light that blinded our senses from perceiving what was outside.

 

“Welp, here goes nothing. Are you ready, Arsinoe?”

 

She sighed, “No, but hopefully it doesn’t take long.”

“Behold! She shall be named Bastet! My daughter arise!” A voice called out through the blinding light. My senses in disarray as my eyes adjusted to the light.

 

Grumbling as I focused on what was going on, I saw myself inside a large temple. A handsome man in front of me as he stared at me with a fatherly smile. Eyes filled with joy as he approached me. My eyes wandered to the side as I saw a group of people staring at me with a mix of positive emotions. Positive emotions I could somehow feel.

 

“What’s going on? What is this?” Keeping my thoughts to myself.

 

“Bastet, welcome home. Today marks the birth of a new goddess. Welcome to heaven my child.”

 

“Heaven?”

 

“Ah, I forgot about this part. Even with the mind and body of an adult, still having no knowledge.” He chuckled as he wrapped his arms around me. I was still hella confused about everything that was going on. But even then, I couldn’t help but look for my girlfriend / fiance. She wasn’t there.

 

“Where are you?”

 

Even with the group of people gathered, I still felt alone.
