"haaaa….." he sighed. "somethings just don't change, do they?"

Normally he would just shrug it off, standing up from such in-fighting but he just laid there. Too lazy to stand up. 'what was I thinking?' he thought.

He just wanted to help, to lay a helping hand on his troubled sister, but all his breath was for not.

'let's just go to sleep, I am already tired from the jolly walks.'

He turned to get up, but his eyes caught something, forcing him to sigh once more. "eh! " he called out.

The reply was not there as he suspected, why would she? She was a genius, a genius bottled up with arrogance, no matter what she was trying to say, trying to do, however noble may her cause be. It doesn't change the fact that she was a terrible sister to him.

Knowing she wouldn't reply, even if he shouted to wake up the whole city. So, He just threw it at her. "catch!"

But in the end, no matter how much arrogant she was, no matter terrible of a sister she was. she was his sister, his blood, his family. and he was a man of promise, a man of commitment. A man whose heart was too soft for his own and cold as steel for his enemies.

He smiled, gazing at her as she caught his throw. "don't lose it...oh, and, I am proud of you sis, congratulations."

With those last words. He walked inside, ready to pass out in his bed. Whereas Livia was still there, taking a look at what her brother just threw. The silver metal, the wings of protection, the known badge of KNIGHTHOOD.

"….idiot," she said, a smile rinsing through her lips.

She couldn't help but grin, laying back on the chimney at her side as she still felt the warmth of her brother in her hands. It was her first time, knowing he had a side like this. She only thought, he only cared for Eli. But his intense stare proved her wrong. So with her delighted mood, she fixed her torn shirt and placed the wings back, the wings of honor, shining on her chest even in the dark nights.

But the senses which she had trusted even in the darkest of nights, the same senses which she trained for past continuous years, couldn't scurry out a pair of eyes. the same crimson eyes, which were staring coldly even now, as Livia laid back.

"...MY brother." Voiced a sound of sheer coldness. Silently staring at her sister from far away.

Julian gradually opened her eyes, the morning light passing by her to wake her up. It was an early morning for her, as she gazed at her side, watching his husband tranquil in slumber. But for Julian, this early morning was bright as they come. Cause the sight by his side was infrequent to the tea. As for many early days to nights, she couldn't even see him by her side. By way of a lord's duty is far more important than his family.

And she was proud of him because of that, making moments like this even more precious. So not letting his sweet sleep be deprived of him, she slowly fixed her pale pink gown, standing up from their bed. As the bed was huge enough, she silently stood up, not making a whistle of sound.

She woke up in time, as usual, gazing at her watch, more advanced than her children's. As many holograms started to appear one by one. the stats and health bar of her children, all shown on the side.

"hmmm….Eli is a little on the low. Must check on her myself after…..oh what do we have here, their heart rate is off the roof. Doing their usual jog?" she questioned.

Tak! Tak!

Hearing the sound of clashing and shouts of familiar sounds, she took hold of her watch, curious about what was happening. turning to the near window, she gazed down at their green garden. A tilt of a grin latched to her lips, viewing a sight, she didn't expect.

"so, that's why."

In the yard of their mansion, two individuals clashed their wooden sticks, making her reminisce about the moments of the past. but the difference being one was beating the other with overwhelming prowess.

She couldn't help but forget about her usual task and just take her leisure time to gaze at them, her children, training and playing around like usual. What could a mother ask? then see her offsprings bundle and kindle with each other.

'Livia seems lively….' She thought, her heart now hanging in comfort.

"…she has indeed gotten stronger." Echoed a voice from behind.

"dear?" Julian asked in surprise, looking at her husband waking up from her deep snooze.

"….but I'm staggered, to see the pace of her growth." He said, gazing at her sword skills, which were smooth as silk, her each and every move not wasting a single moment.

Tak!

Bang!

"slow….again!" Livia lashed, backing her sword.

Aaron who was already battered blue sighed in exhaustion. Standing up again. "Can't you just slow down a bit?" he asked, using his sword as a handle to stand up.

This was it, the reason he wanted to go missing until she left for her school. The morning hell of thousand strikes, he had experienced it before, suffering this moment all over again and worse of all. It was even shoddier than before. She had gotten stronger, much, much stronger and without a filter, she tries to reciprocate it to him like he could take it all.

'what did she learn from the fucking academy?' He complained. As he fell down again, feeling the pain in his leg. The slash was slow but fast. He didn't know how to describe it, or how to analyze it, so the idea of defending himself couldn't come up to his guard.

"again!" she shouted in excitement.

He could see it, the sadistic smile, creeping up on her lips. which did nothing but turned his stomach cold. Before, He didn't know how she got these tendencies but now he realized, she was growing into something, something horrifying. And he felt like he was the only one who could put a stop to it.

"you will know defeat, sister!" Aaron shouted, running his legs blindly.

Tak!

Tiik!

While Aaron was having his battle to deprive his sister of her future tendencies. Robert, the lord of house Miracle, could only giggle. he didn't mind seeing their children fight each other, He even encouraged it in his many lessons, turning their morning schedule into the norm.

"We have indeed given birth to the prodigies of our generation." He proclaimed, nudging his wife to his chest, and she happily reciprocated, latching onto his warmth, the warmth which every wife oh so desired.

"yes, yes we did, especially Livia."

"haha…you might think that but…" he replied, trying to constrain his words in mystery. "Livia, she is the future sword empress, who will lead our family name to new heights. I know it as she has reached a level akin to mine."

"but my dear wife, let me tell you this, genius and talent is great on their own, but they mean nothing to an individual, who doesn't know when to give up. The bundling curiosity and the heart to itch that scratch whatever means necessary. Forging a heart that doesn't know defeat. That is the power that conquers all, leaving behind the so-called prodigy…"

Julian couldn't help but be in awe, it was his second time complimenting their only son, which was rare, rarer than finding a jewel in the vast sea, even before, when their daughter came back with a badge of a knight, he hardly said anything, giving light-hearted compliments like always. In her retrospect. Their son whom everyone called a genius, a talent born once in hundreds of years wasn't like this.

She could still remember. On the day of their inspection. The ritual that every newborn goes through, whether to know their aptitude for their calling, their hidden talent. It was a ceremony only presented to the houses of the nobles. Which gave birth to famous doctors, athletes, warriors, scientists, etc. this secret information was only given to their parental figures. To help them raise to become someone who could reach their full potential.

For livia, it was sword mastery, for Elizabeth, it was the high caster. A rare talent that was passed down from the Mirakle family from the dawn of its rise. But for Aaron, at that moment when the ritual master blessed his lights on their boy. there was nothing, passing only vague symbols, that not even the greater Ritual master understood.

At that moment, Robert and Julian knew, the path of their son was going to be harsh, as nobility required something to offer to the world. Something to the king, something to the emperor. But they state their mind to support him whatever the cost. But now, years passed. The boy who should have no talent was now hailed a genius. How such a child could read and memories various knowledge, remember so many languages with an excellent native accent? How he could spar with the many knights and beat them at their very game, as the only one who could defeat him was Livia and Robert himself.

How many times, he had turned the tables, in spite of the lack of talent? This was a thing she still couldn't understand but it seems her husband could clearly see it. how their dear son had something special, something profound from the very start.

'so that's why he wants him to be the heir….' She figured.

"hmmmm…..and he's still insisted on not using it…" Robert suddenly said.

"What dear?"

"Nothing love, nothing at all…" He answered. "….After his break, let him know, his father seeks his presence."

"hmm…..ok dear." She replied, laying back on his chest.
