The estate of Ivan Tepish Dracule was engulfed in a tense atmosphere, as almost everyone sensed the overseer's overwhelming magical energy. The air was distorted, creating a deafening sound akin to dozens of turbines operating at full capacity at a single Origin point, echoing across the entire estate. The afternoon had barely set in, and the sounds had already lured everyone toward their origin.

Ullie, Lilly's mother, was no exception. She had heard the noises, felt the astronomical concentration of energy, and without a second thought, rushed toward Lilly's room. The last time a Type 2 Dark Rift Walker (summoner) tried to attack Lilly, and now, hearing the deafening sounds, she knew something was amiss.

She barged into Lilly's room with narrowed eyes, spotting her daughter in a heavy comatose state. All the family members checked on her daily, observing that she would wake up in the evening, lively but remain comatose during dawn and afternoon.

Tears streamed down Ullie's face as she kissed her daughter's forehead, hugging her tightly. She was too worried that another incident was right around the corner, as Dark Rift Walkers never left their prey alive. It was a saying that had been famous in the world for centuries.

"I'm here, Lilly. I'm here. Mom will protect you," Ullie whispered, her voice filled with sadness. She noticed a small, rapidly blipping stone beside Lilly, producing a reverberating sound.

"I'm sorry, Ray.” Orion, in his stone form, said telepathically.

Finally noticing the constant blipping, getting stronger, and held by Lilly, her eyes widening in astonishment.

Assiahia, the elder of the High Humans, was washing her clothes using a small bug that used its fur as a brush. The bug was an intelligent pet that many owned. Assiahia was using the water near a small riverside when she felt a sudden shift in the atmosphere. The air became charged with a palpable energy that sent shivers down her spine. She looked around, and her eyes landed on the horizon where a deafening noise echoed across the estate, causing everyone to panic.

A few guards stationed nearby reacted quickly, grabbing their weapons and running towards the source of the sound. Without a second thought, Assiahia dropped everything and followed them. She could feel the gravity of the situation, knowing that the safety of the children was at stake.

"Hurry up! We need to get there fast. The kids' lives are in our hands," the guards urged, their voices filled with urgency.

"General Ivan and most of the people are not here. We need to protect this place," one of the guards added, running like the wind with each step gaining more ground than the other. Zeko, one of the guards, feared that it might be an attack from something he never wanted to see again in his life.

As they ran, Assiahia's mind raced with possibilities. She wondered what could have caused such an intense disturbance, hoping it wasn't a repeat of the past incidents that had befallen their land. The sound grew louder, and the group moved faster, driven by the urgency to reach their destination before it was too late.

On the other hand, The overseer had given Ray an ultimatum, suspecting that he was not Ivan's son but something dangerous, ready to attack at any moment. The overseer was concerned about the safety of his people living in the area and did not want to put them in harm's way.

"For the life of me, I could see things from not this plane. For some reason that was the case and I never shared that info with anyone. What is it am seeing? Why is his Spirit so dark and twisted now? It wasn’t the case when I first saw him having a squabble with the little hot-headed brother." the overseer thought as he looked at Ray.

Nobody could see what he saw when he laid eyes on Ray as he entered the training area. A sense of darkness that had no end. It almost spooked him to death first seeing Ray. He could only laugh it off at that moment out of fear.

"It has to be something inside him," he thought. "Or maybe he's not really our Ray."

Finally, the overseer used his full power, and the distortion of the wind literally blew everyone away from where he and Ray were standing.

"Last warning. Come out," the overseer shouted as his palm shone like a star.

Ray was still unconscious, and the overseer did his best to bluff his way and see if Ray was actually what he feared most.

Moments passed, and nothing happened. By this point, the overseer was somewhat convinced that Ray was not a Class 2 abomination. The cunning creatures valued their lives over anything, and Ray had not made any moves to attack.

The overseer let out a sigh of relief and dissipated his energy output, easing up a little. He picked Ray up in his arms, still unconscious, and carried him away.

He continued to walk, holding Ray close to his chest. The weight of the unconscious boy was nothing compared to the burden of his thoughts. The overseer knew that he had to keep a close eye on Ray, no matter what. He couldn't let his guard down, not even for a moment. He had to protect his people.

The entire estate was now gathered at the scene of the commotion. The ground around the trees was scorched, indicating that something had happened. Though it wasn't significant damage, it was still clear that some kind of event had taken place. Zecko and a few guards approached the overseer with weapons in hand, looking concerned.

"What happened, sir overseer? Is Ray okay?" Zecko asked, his tone serious.

Everyone was armed to the teeth as all the people thought something dangerous had happened.

With a powerful voice, the overseer addressed the crowd. "I'm sorry to have worried you all. There was nothing to be concerned about."

The people were skeptical, but they trusted the overseer's judgment. He was a respected member of the community, and he treated everyone like family. As one of the oldest members of the estate, he commanded respect and admiration from all. With old age came respect. Not many lived such long lives.

Zecko caught on quickly and asked, "Are you sure? Are we in danger? Was there an attack?"

The overseer reassured everyone with a calm demeanor. "No, there's no danger. I would be the first one to jump on the fucker who dares to attack anyone here. Now please the kid here needs some medical attention. Ray needs medical attention. I apologize for causing a stir. Please carry on with your day."

With that, the overseer took Ray in his arms and left the scene. Despite his assurance, the people couldn't help but feel a sense of unease lingering in the air.

Upon hearing the news, everyone let out a sigh of relief. Some went back to their business, while others stayed behind to discuss the matter further.

"I won't let you become a target of hate, little one," the overseer said to Ray still in his arms unconscious.

"I still have my suspicions, but I'll hold on to them until I get an answer from you. We need to investigate this further. Until then in my heart, I believe you are an innocent kid for now." He looked at Ray with a mix of concern and suspicion.

Allister and the others rushed towards the overseer, with the teens tailing behind them.

Don’t speak of anything you saw, you hear me. This was just my hunch. No need to patronize him when he wakes up got it.” The overseer said addressing all of them as all nodded. They didn’t want to be practicing all day if Ray snitched on them. Allister looked relieved hearing the news.

The overseer added on

"Go back to the training area. I'll be back."

As the overseer walked towards the medical ward with Ray in his arms, he noticed Assahia standing in the distance with a frown on her face. She looked at him, and her eyes shifted to Ray in his arms.

“What?” the overseer said

"What happened this time?" she asked coldly, “You didn’t do anything like this unless you felt death staring you in your face. What HAPPENED,” she said coldly. She knew something serious happened and she wanted to know. As an elder one of her duties was to be someone who could guide the community and the high humans.

The overseer looked around to make sure no one was eavesdropping before he responded.

"Let's talk somewhere private. We need to discuss this with Ivan as well."

Assahia nodded in agreement, still skeptical of the situation, especially seeing the child in the overseer's arms. As an elder, she held animosity back as she looked at Ray.

"What did you do now," she thought as her eyes fixated on Ray.

Meanwhile, around a large lake, a fierce battle was raging as dozens of non-humans and high humans fought against a colossal thing near the city's borders. Ivan and Rannuk, the war bull, led the charge with the 30 strongest warriors they had at their disposal to defend the city.

The beast was dangerously close to the city, and the ground shook with each of its colossal steps. The air was filled with the sound of clashing weapons and roars from both sides. The non-humans were fighting tooth and nail to protect their home, while the high humans fought to uphold their duty to defend the city and its inhabitants.
