“Damn, this lollipop is good. Might buy some for Yasaka when I come back.” I muttered out loud.

Walking on the old road, listening to music as I hummed the tune of the song. My steps are slow as I take in the fresh breath of air. It was slightly windy and caused my hair to fly out. As I continued on my journey, little by little. The winds began to pick up.

Slowly, the winds were blowing more force into my face and I knew for certain that I was closing in on my objective. Carrying a giant container holding a multitude of swords. Every single one of them contains the same metals. Taking out two swords and a police tape, I wrapped the ends of the tape to one of the swords and threw it far away to my side. Repeating the same process to the other end, I created a blockage for the beaten road. Satisfied with this, I continued my journey forward.

“Now, would she like flowers? Nah, she’s more of a sweets' gal. Although, I do hear that a movie already came out that critics are saying is good. Might take her out to watch the movie. For dinner, I think I’m craving some Chicken Bellagio. Yeah, that’s some good shit. I’m sure she’ll love it.” Talking out loud as I continued my path forward. After an hour, I could finally feel the winds becoming stronger by the passing second. Blowing my hair as I felt the force of the wind on my face.

“Damn, they weren’t lying when they said it was a big one.” Starring up in the sky, I could see a Hurricane forming slowly. Dark clouds with thunder shooting all over the place.

“Maybe, four? No, I might be able to do this with at least one. If I go over two then I might have to train once again.” Setting down the container and opening it once more. I took out two katanas. There was nothing special about it, no secret abilities, unique metals, or history. It was simply an everyday normal blade one may find in a common weapons shop. Not to mention the fact that it was a dull blade, only made its price cheaper.

What mattered the most is how one uses said sword. As my hands gripped the hilt, I began to breathe in deeply. It’s funny how many people romanticize the sword. But they all tend to ignore the main purpose. A hideous weapon used to kill and maim. Yet, I still picked it up because it was the only thing that I knew would never betray me. I’ve already tried using guns before but they sometimes tend to jam once and a while. Especially the amount of care one needs to do for a simple handheld pistol.

The Hurricane was almost done forming and yet the destruction is already happening. Trees rupturing from the force of the winds now picking up speed. Rocks and debris flying in a manner similar to bullets. My stance wide, my grip slightly loosened and feet steady. Due to my steady foot work, I wasn’t blown away immediately from the force of the winds picking up speed. Even when the winds blew my face, I had to keep my breathing steady.

The act of cutting is the division of infinity.

I couldn’t help but chuckle at the words forming in my mind. To think I would be using the knowledge of a fictional world and use it as the basis of my swordsmanship. There were no techniques, no special movement set, everything was so basic that even a child can remember the basic lessons. Yet, there was a reason why I was able to do what I did. The process of how I did it was through constant training and desire to do the impossible. Stubborn at how weak and shitty my life was in the beginning. Being one of the few “aliens”, I found out that even if I gain Oripathy. Perhaps this is due to my outer dimensional origin. I wouldn’t be able to use Originium Arts.

The fact that magic here exists in the form cancer rocks should have told me otherwise. Especially with all the different species of human-like races that consider themselves as “human”.

Adam! Are you there?!” Causing me to blink.

Pressing the earbud on my ear, “Yeah, it’s me. What do you want?”

The Catastrophe has already formed! It’s heading your way!

“I know, I’m in front of it in fact.” I told the voice calmly.

Really?! Well you better hurry up because it’s heading towards the town!” Yelled the voice.

“Fuck! Don’t scream through the mike asshole! That shit hurts my ear!” I yelled back at him.

Okay! I’m sorry! But please hurry!

“Leonhardt. Don’t worry. You of all people should already know that I can do this. Now fuck off! I’m trying to work here!” Pressing the earbud once more. Cutting off the call and leaving myself alone.

Once again, I returned to my actions. Deep breaths, steady footwork, and mind focused at the Catastrophe before me. Muscles tensing, waiting to spring forward. The sword pointing at the floor with the blade facing upwards.

And then, I cut the world.

“.... Damn, I still can’t get used to this sight.” Sighed Leonhardt, his neck straining upwards at the sky.

Above him, was a dark sky. The hurricane that if left alone would have continued to form in much greater length and have caused another wave destruction. This time, one that was heading towards the small town many miles away, whom have yet to be informed of the oncoming hurricane. Yet, Leonhardt could see that it wasn’t the case anymore. One long line separating the cloudy sky to reveal the night sky that was covered with stars.

Suddenly, he felt another chill run up his spine as another line formed, going across the first one and forming an X. Looking down on his device, he could see the Originium measurement lowering itself. All the way to the point where it was as if the Hurricane hadn't formed in the first place.

His ears twitched, Leonhardt looked forward to seeing Adam now walking back, carrying his container filled with swords.

“I still can’t get used to how you do it, Adam.” He told the Alien once he was a few steps away.

Leonhardt not only doesn't understand how exactly Adam was able to do that with a sword, but also doesn’t understand Adam’s appearance. To put it simply, Adam was as if he should have belonged in another world. He wasn’t human to his knowledge, but must be some kind of creature with a human appearance. Perhaps it was due to him not having any known features of the common races. Adam doesn’t have horns, scales, wings, extra ears, tails, gills, or anything. It was as if he was a simple blank state of being.

Yet, this blank state was the Catastrophe Killer.

“So, is it done?” He asked him.

“Yeah, don’t worry, Adam. You’ll have your payment sent to your account by the end of the day. How many swords did you break this time?” He told Adam.

“Just two, now let’s get back. I want to see my wife again. It’s been a week.” And without a word, entered the car that was near the two of them.

“Huh, guess he’s getting stronger. Just two swords broken this time.” Muttered Leonhardt.

“I’m home!” I called out for my wife. Closing the door behind me and taking off my dirty shoes. The house I live in was one I bought after my first confirmed success in removing a Catastrophe, one that happened to be meteor showers falling down the same city me and my wife lived. It was a rather small but cozy house with 3 rooms and a large restroom.

“I’m on the couch, love!” She yelled back. I smiled at the sound of her voice.

Placing down the large container holding my swords, I walked to the couch with a bag of candies. Sitting on the couch with the television on was my wife, Yasaka. To be honest, I didn’t expect to find myself seeing her here, of all places.

“Hi honey, how was your day?” She asked me, patting the seat next to her.

Sitting down next to her, I grabbed her tail and rubbed my face on it as I began to groan. “Shitty. I mean, dealing with not only one but two Catastrophes the same day near one another wasn’t something I expected to happen! Not to mention the fact that it was near a town. Luckily, the town is safe, as Leonhardt was able to tell me the correct directions to where it’s happening.”

“Aww. Is my honey all tuckered out?” She said in a teasing tone.

“Nope. Just tired having to deal with all of this. I mean, the fact that I’m supposedly the only person who defeats actual natural disasters of this scale kind of shows how much responsibility my job holds. At least it pays well.” Running my hands through her tail’s soft, luxurious fur.

“That’s good to hear.” She said,

“Hey Yasaka,”

“Yes?”

“Wanna go on a movie date later?”

“Yes, I’d love to go.”

“Good, I hope the new movie everyone's talking about is good. Supposedly, this Wan Sheng is a great action movie star or something.”

“Oh? That one? I’ve heard about it. In fact, why don’t you go take a shower while we get ready. I’ll check if there's an available seat at the movie theater. Can I borrow your card?” Said Yasaka.

“Sure,” Grabbing a metal credit card and passing it to her. “Use it to get us seats. I’ll be out soon.”

“Thank you, now off you go.”

“Not without a quick kiss.”

She rolled her eyes before giving me a kiss on the lips. As I left for the shower, I couldn’t help but feel happy as a giant grin formed on my lips.

I'll be honest, I totally forgot that I had an account here in Scribblehub. Was focused on other sites that I forgot about this place. Decided to add another story. I'm back.
