Da Ming Sheng acted innocent in front of Shang Duan Hua's parents. She wanted to destroy his parents' bond with Da Tian Ting. She wasn't going to let Da Tian Ting use his parents to force him to marry Da Tian Ting.
Lam Shu Pan looked left and right during the awkward silence.
'Duan Hua, if you wanted to bring a guest home for dinner then you should have called for me to prepare more meals,' Lam Shu Pan said.
'Mum, I thought mum and dad were home alone,' Shang Duan Hua said.
Shang Duan Hua hated seeing Da Tian Ting when they were engaged. But after Da Tian Ting found out the truth, he felt ashamed to look her in the eye. He felt like he owed her for taking care of him and for betraying her.
Da Tian Ting didn't want to be in the same room with the two people who betrayed her.
'Aunty Lam, I'll go help you in the kitchen,' Da Tian Ting said.
Shang Dua Hua watched Da Tian Ting walk to the kitchen, and knew she was putting up a brave front.
Da Ming Sheng hated everyone paying attention to Da Tian Ting.
'Uncle Shang, aunty Lam, it's good to see both of you,' Da Ming Sheng said. 'I hope you're both well.'
'We're good,' Shang Ming said.
Shang Ming picked up the newspaper, hid his face and acted like he was reading.
Da Ming Sheng didn't care if Shang Duan Hua's parents loved Da Tian Ting, because she was Shang Duan Hua's fiance instead of Da Tian Ting.
'Ming Sheng, ignore uncle,' Lam Shu Pan said. 'Come here and sit.'
'Thank you aunty Lam,' Da Ming Sheng said.
'You're part of the family, you don't need to say thank you,' Lam Shu Pan said.
Da Ming Sheng was happy Lam Shu Pan accepted her as the future Mrs Shang.
'Uncle Shang, aunty Lam, I'll go into the kitchen too,' Da Ming Sheng said. 'I want to make some of your favorite dishes.'
Da Ming Sheng walked demurely to the kitchen, and Lam Shu Pan grabbed Shang Ming's newspaper.
'Why can't you accept Ming Sheng?' Lam Shu Pan asked.
'Did I say I can't accept her?' Shang Ming asked.
'Your attitude toward Ming Sheng says enough,' Lam Shu Pan said. 'Stop hurting Ming Sheng's feelings.'
'I'll tone down my attitude,' Shang Ming said.
'Dad, mum, I'll go to my room to change clothes,' Shang Duan Ting said.
