Within the serene silence, the room was without clutter or mess. There wasn’t much inside, but everything had its spot. A youth was sitting on his bed with his eyes closed, his posture straight and his legs crossed. His hands made a peculiar sign while resting near his bosom. Although it was a hot evening day, you could see the exhale of mist from the mouth. Fawr was practising the Soul Bolt technique.

Shockingly, the technique was almost a match made in heaven. His hair was standing up with the electric-like energy coursing through his veins, slowly seeping into the blocked meridian channels described in the book. The energy seemed to gush into the heart, using blood as the medium. It flowed much like electricity in the water. The concept was that the heart is the gate to the soul. The technique would open that gate, nourishing the soul with his vital blood, binding it to the body eternally.

Although this meant that if the body died, the soul would perish in doing so, the soul’s peculiar nature would result in tapping into an energy reservoir which yielded more outstanding results than the dantian by itself. Although the technique seemed quite simple at a glance, its procedure was challenging. However, Fawr, with his soul talent, had found it much easier than any of the techniques provided by the school.

Tian did not comment, but he knew that such a technique was magical beyond doubt. If it weren’t a lightning-based attack, he would have thought it was related to the blood arts in a way. The concept of binding the soul to the body through electrified blood seemed quite evil. Anyone who practised this would have no chance of an afterlife. Tian knew this but did not tell Fawr. Such a technique suited the blood arts. He even suspected that the old man had some form of connection with the Empire. It is safe to say that although Vampires dominated the study of blood, it didn’t mean others had less ability to delve into such arts.

“Tian, this technique feels magical, my mind feels a lot clearer, but I also feel chained down. This feeling is causing me to understand my body thoroughly. I feel like my control over it is much more substantial," commented Fawr. He was still feeling sceptical over getting such a technique the moment he met the odd old man.

Tian thought for a while. It all made sense. With the soul slowly attached to the body, its senses are heightened, and the body will eventually become ethereal and real simultaneously. Although this final state of being veers off the path of blood, he could ignore it as it enhances the Vampire physique. Blood is a container. The blood is there as a container to deliver power to the rest of the body. In the end,  strengthening the blood will bring many benefits. The better the shell, the better the blood techniques can show its might. The next time he meets this old man, he will have to thank him from the bottom of his heart. Unexpectedly these techniques would mesh so well in the future, just thinking about it made him excited beyond doubt.

While Tian was fantasising about the distant future, Fawr was exploring his body at a magnitude he couldn’t believe. With his mind alone, he could observe every cell of his body. The hardest part of the technique was not strengthening his body but establishing the gate to the soul, which he did with ease. It involved pushing the spiritual energy to the heart and forming a gate inside it to connect it to the soul; surprisingly, with the help of the blood legacy, he got through this tedious aspect that many failed to accomplish. If that old man witnessed such a scene, he wouldn’t care about his reputation. He would immediately take Fawr to his sect in East Asia.

The small gate between the heart and soul allowed the blood to nourish the soul. Throughout the whole process, Fawr was pale. His soul was far too powerful, and a lot of blood was required to allow the soul to become one with his body. This explained the weird attribute of the Soul bolt being red. The soul would turn red and eerie.

The technique then explains that with the soul merging with the heart, the spiritual energy used in cultivation would naturally be attracted to the body without a breathing technique. The average human heart transfers oxygen to the blood. However, the enhanced body no longer depends on this. The heart and soul, now fused, will nourish the blood with spiritual energy while modifying the rest of the body to adapt to these changes. These modifications through external techniques allowed the seamless integration of Vampire blood techniques and Spiritual cultivation. Tian was worried that such changes might get noticed. However, in this day and age, magical transplants and genetic modification surgery were the norms to achieve greater power. If the high human council had a way to classify Fawr, it would be that he has achieved a Spirit Body. This was a rare constitution suitable for cultivation but also promoted the quality of blood. Tian himself was awestruck with how compatible this technique was.

Tian suddenly thought altering the body’s constitution with a technique alone was almost godlike. It is only these high-tier techniques that could cause such a transfiguration. Even with side effects, anyone would be willing to jump to hell and beyond to attain such magical results.

“This technique is extraordinary, despite the underlying drawbacks of modifying the human body. It’s still an excellent trade-off as this is a terrific find. I don’t think anything in this continent can rival this technique from the eastern hemisphere. They are the origin of these mystical techniques, after all."

Such constitutions could not be achieved artificially, so the technique of changing Fawr to such a degree was quite scary. Whoever this old man was, he wasn’t some simple character. To give away such a heaven-defying technique to a stranger, one with a deplorable past and connections to the infamous Vampires, baffled Tian immensely. The technique also includes the benefit of strengthening veins and arteries. This step was easily skipped for Fawr as he had a unique constitution, and these veins were already deemed perfect. Instead, he would focus on strengthening the meridians. That morning, he skimmed through several steps and fortified his foundations. Now all he had to do was meditate daily until he could run the technique as quickly as breathing. As the technique had the peculiar perk of modifying the body, the body, in turn, would automatically circulate the technique. This meant the practitioner could no longer change his path once he decided to walk upon it. Fawr didn’t mind, as he wouldn’t have found anything better even if he had prayed to all the world’s gods.

As Fawr continued going through the cultivation method, his connection to the world opened up, and his body’s potential was excavated. Without him noticing, the statistics on his watch face were changing at a pace that would put any talent to shame.

When Fawr looked, the changes in his attributes did not catch his attention. Still, the seemingly new line detailing his security clearance did. It seemed that it had elevated his position due to the technique. Then again, this seemed normal. An insane cultivation method like this would not be something that could be given out freely, and the fewer who knew about it, the better. Then he noticed his Cultivation talent had changed to S rank, shocking him.

Holy shit, can cultivation techniques change innate talent this much? It has modified my body to be more compatible with my spirit. How convenient.

In a place filled with the lush greenery of eastern Asia lies a temple on the highest peaks. It’s said China’s martial heritage was profound. The continent of Asia as a whole could not be underestimated. It could be considered one of the few epicentres of human innovation. Only the deep waters of Europe could compare, known to have its own share of cruel and dark moments of humanity. An old man sat in his place studying the files on his table, detailing the documents from the appearance of a super legacy in Britannia. Due to the location, it was pretty hard to gather this information. Even after finding out where it was, the whole hunt was called off by none other than this man himself.

“Bring over the information of Fawr Vayce. Try to determine his origins. I would have brought him back if I knew he would be such a good seedling, even with the risk of the blood arts being exposed. No time for regrets. Only those in Great Britain would have the qualifications to keep such a wild variable around. Vampires are not to be messed with," stated the old man.

On his watch, he looked at the screen while shaking his head. There was a notification stating that someone in Europe had successfully cultivated the Soul Bolt technique, something it has been a while since anyone has been able to achieve. However, a master like him would not go against fate. Although the boy may not be under his tutelage, if he were to become a great power, he would naturally help in times of need. The strings of karma were set. He wasn’t aware that his actions would cause great storms within humanity and beyond.
