Chapter 1:

Akiko sat on the plush leather couch in her father's office, surrounded by the familiar scent of books and freshly brewed coffee.

She stared out the window at the bustling city below. She had always found comfort in the familiar patterns of the streets and in the way the buildings seemed to dance in the sunlight. But today, her mind was elsewhere.

Her mind was swirling with thoughts and emotions as she tried to process the conversation she had just had with her father. Her father had always been a mysterious man, and today was no exception.

Akiko's father, a successful businessman and CEO of Fujimoto Corporation, a corporation specialising in data storage and telecommunications had always been a mysterious figure in her life, despite the fact that they lived under the same roof, now she noticed his face etched with concern.

He had called her into his office high above the skyscraper for a talk, and she couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss. The large glass windows behind him offered a stunning view of the cityscape, but Akiko couldn't focus on the scenery. She kept her gaze fixed on her father, waiting for him to speak.

"Akiko," he began, "I know you're busy with school and everything, but I want you to take a break."

Akiko tilt her head while raising an eyebrow, confused. "A break? "What kind of break?" She couldn't help but feel a sense of anxiety. Her father was a busy man, and he rarely took time off, so this must be important.

"I want you to go to Korea with me," he continued. "We'll go skiing, just the two of us." "It'll be a chance for us to bond and for you to clear your head."

Akiko hesitated. She didn't have time for a vacation, not with everything she had going on. She had exams coming up and a lot of assignments to finish. But something in her father's eyes made her nod in agreement. He looked genuinely concerned for her well-being, and she couldn't ignore that.

"Okay," she said. "I'll go." She couldn't deny that a trip away from the city with her father since that would be out of character for her.

"Great," her father said, relief evident in his voice. "I'll make the arrangements. We'll leave next week."

Akiko nodded, still a bit unsure if she will be excited for the adventure ahead. As she left her father's office, Akiko still couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. But she pushed it to the back of her mind, focusing instead on the day ahead.

And so she walked out of the confines of the ivory tower that was one of their family's estate, her gaze fixed ahead as she stepped out into the bright sunlight. A chaperone, a trusted and experienced woman who had been appointed by her family to ensure her safety and well-being, walked by her side, guiding her towards the usual service vehicle that was parked just outside the gates.

The chaperone, dressed in traditional attire, held her arm firmly as they walked, her eyes scanning the area for any potential danger or threat. As they approached the vehicle, the chaperone opened the door and helped her inside, ensuring that she was comfortably seated before closing the door and taking her place in the front seat next to the driver. The engine started, and the vehicle began to move, taking her away from the safety and security to her school.

Akiko Fujimoto, a 17-year-old girl with a long black ponytail and striking charcoal-black eyes, sees her life as a carefully crafted tapestry. On the surface, everything appears to be perfect, with the latest designer clothes, the newest gadgets, and the finest education money can buy. However, beneath the surface, there are threads that have been pulled tight and stretched to their limit.

She has been trained to be the perfect socialite: to smile and nod at the right moments, to make small talk, and to charm the room. But inside, she feels like a fraud, going through the motions and putting on a show for everyone around her. Her family's business is a weight around her neck, always reminding her of the expectations placed on her. She has been taught to handle it with grace and to keep a smile on her face, but the truth is, it's a constant struggle for her.

Akiko may appear as a butterfly on the outside, but inside she feels like a caterpillar trapped in its cocoon, still learning how to spread her wings and fly. Sometimes she feels like she is just winging it, hoping that she doesn't crash and burn. Despite her struggles, Akiko knows that she has to push through and keep going, even when it feels like the weight of the world is on her shoulders. Because, like the tapestry, she is a part of something bigger and more beautiful than herself, and she has to trust in the thread that holds it all together.

Akiko has a lot of responsibility as the only child of the Fujimoto family. She has been taught to handle it with grace.

She walked the halls of her school, and Akiko couldn't help but notice the stares of her classmates. Some looked at her with awe, while others seemed to be filled with jealousy.

Akiko didn't let it bother her. She had always been different, and she was used to it by now. She greeted her peers with a polite smile and a nod, pretending not to notice the way they gawked at her.

Throughout the day, Akiko found herself lost in thought, trying to make sense of the conversation she had had with her father. She couldn't shake the feeling that there was something more to his request than he was letting on.

As the day went on, she made her way to her favorite spot in the library, an isolated corner near the back where she could read in peace. She had always found solace in the books, and today was no different. She pulled out a novel she had been meaning to read for weeks. She was lost in a book, completely engrossed in the story, as if the words on the page were a portal to another world.

Books, the only source of comfort for her. They provide an escape from reality and a sense of companionship during lonely moments. They offer a wide range of emotions and experiences, from the thrill of adventure to the depths of love and loss. She finds comfort in the pages, immersing herself in the stories and connecting with the characters. They are her constant companions, always there to offer a helping hand or a listening ear.

But suddenly, she felt a horrible headache coming on, like a storm brewing in her mind. She tried to ignore it, but it only grew worse, like a tempest raging within her. She could hear people around her trying to help, but their voices were like distant echoes in the midst of the storm.

"Miss Fujimoto, are you okay?" A voice interrupted her thoughts.

Akiko looked up to see one of her classmates, a girl named Keiko, standing in front of her.

"I'm fine," Akiko said, forcing a smile. "Just a little lost in thought."

"You looked like you were in pain," Keiko said, concern etched on her face.

As the pain intensified, Akiko felt like she was being pulled into a vortex, a swirling maelstrom of darkness. She felt like she was losing control, like she was being sucked into an abyss.

Keiko helped her to her feet, and Akiko felt her knees give out. She collapsed onto the floor, her head spinning.

"Someone call for help!" Someone shouted, cradling Akiko's head in her lap.

She fought to stay conscious, but it was a losing battle. The last thing she remembered was the sound of a ambulance siren, before everything went black.

***

When Akiko woke up, she was in a room she had never seen before. It was a grand chamber, with high ceilings and ornate decorations. The walls were adorned with tapestries and paintings depicting scenes of glory and progress. The bed she was lying on was fit for a queen, with plush velvet covers and golden accents. She felt like she was in a dream, a surreal fantasy.

As she tried to make sense of her surroundings, a young woman entered the room. She was carrying a bucket and a towel, and she seemed excited and flustered she see her. She almost dropped the bucket when she saw Akiko was awake, and she put her bracelet to her mouth.

"The Queen is awake!" she exclaimed, before running in the room.

Akiko looked at her, confused. Queen? What was she talking about? She opened her mouth to speak, but her throat was dry and her voice was barely a whisper.

"Water," she croaked, her eyes pleading for the young woman to understand her needs.

The young lady quickly understood and brought her a glass of water, helping her to drink it. The cool liquid soothed Akiko's parched throat, and she was finally able to speak again.

"Where am I?" she asked, her voice still weak and raspy. "What's going on?"

"You're in the palace," the lady said, her voice filled with concern. "You have been sick for a week, Your Majesty." "We've been taking care of you, but we were starting to get worried when you didn't wake up."

Akiko's mind was racing as she tried to piece together what was happening. She couldn't remember anything about being in the palace or being ill, and the idea of being a queen was completely foreign to her.

As she lay there, she remembered her father's words from earlier that day. He had invited her to go skiing in Korea, but now she couldn't shake the feeling that she was not in Japan or even on Earth. She felt like she had been she is still dreaming, but she doesn't know that this is now her reality, A Queen in Another World.
