Volume 1, Chapter 2: New Life, New World, New Friend!

I opened my eyes, as the gentle breeze woke me. I was lying myself under the big tree

"So this is the world I'm going to live in...?"

Everything was different. Lively scenery, greener environment, clear blue sky, everything... they're all different from the world I lived in...

It might just be my opinion, but from what I've seen beneath those hospital windows, this is by far, better than the world I previously lived in

"I'm so grateful that I got to live for the second time..."

And this time, with a healthy body as well...Thank you, goddess

"Now that I think about it, I don't think I've ever heard her say her name..."

Do goddesses even have names...?

...

"No time for trivial matters! I should be exploring this new world!"

Because that I was lying in the hospital for so long that I was eager to take a step forward to see what this new world has in store for me...

...but-

"T-T-THAT'S BIG!"

On my why downwards from the big tree, a big creature, bigger than a bear, almost saw me. I quickly hid myself, hoping that he wouldn't notice me

"It looks like a big, big bear, but at the same time its not..."

It also seemed like its finding food...

"It'll be bad if I die quickly because of that thing..."

But what should I do...?

For now, I guess my course of action is to get around that thing without being noticed...

I then took my sweet time, going around the creature as I also made sure to not get noticed

...when suddenly i stepped on something spiky and landed on branch that broke afterwards

"I'm dead meat..."

I said as I looked at the creature, staring at me. It then started to run towards me as if it had seen the food it was looking for

"What should I do, what should I do, what should I do?!"

-wait, isn't this like one of those isekai animes where I might be strong enough to defeat this thing?

Since this is another world and all, I think I might have a chance!

I tried to concentrate hard on avoiding getting caught by the creature, making myself run around it

Few minutes passed by, and I started to notice-

"E-eh? I-Is it me just me?"

Or this creature's too slow...?

Its been trying to catch me awhile now, but I've been avoiding it for the past few minutes...

"Not to mention, I'm not getting tired at all...running and everything..."

I feel like, I can do this all day!

I then tried to have fun with the creature, making myself running around in circles until the creature got tired and seemingly passed out

"Eh? Seriously?"

I looked closer to see if its really passed out when suddenly-

*GAURGGHH!*

"This is bad!"

I was too close to the creature that it was at that time the creature was in the motion of grabbing me by its hands

...but for some reason...

"It's too slow..."

I felt like as if the world around me had slowed down, I can totally see the creature trying to grab me frame by frame in my own two eyes

"Here goes nothing!"

Instead of running away, I tried to end its life by attacking the creature with my fist...While I was running earlier, I felt like I need to try if I also got good physical stats aside from my stamina, thus why this was the best moment for it to determine

But what I witnessed was far different from what I've expected...

"No...way..."

A big hole...a big hole was open from the creature's stomach as the hole penetrated through behind the creature, to some part of the forest

And then I remembered-

'I want to be the strongest! Everyone's hope!'

"So that goddess...really did it...?"

I thought that the goddess wouldn't do it...but for her to even do my ridiculous request...

"Now I feel like I'm cheating"

...With great power comes with great responsibility...I guess?

But another problem at hand...

"What should I do with all of this excess meat?"

I can take some of it, but what would happen to the rest? I don't think I can leave it to rot in here...moreover...can I even eat this meat...?

As I tried to think of an idea, I sensed another creature behind me

"Another one?"

I looked behind me...only to see a seemingly harmless creature that looked like a squirrel

"It doesn't seem hostile...no, I won't be fooled the second time!"

As it ran towards me, I prepared for the worst...

...Once it got close to me, it signalled something about the other creature's meat and pointing it towards the other creatures that looked like it

"So you want to eat that meat?"

It circled itself as if that's an equivalent to saying "Yes" in human language

"I see. You can have it, but i would like to cook it first"

The creature looked at me puzzled, seemingly not knowing what I was talking about

"You'll find out soon enough"

I smiled then quickly gathered some wood and materials to light the wood. I quickly got the hang of using my whole body to gather and create not only the firewood, but also some equipment that are made from wood...although they're kinda crude and quite unusable to the human eye...

Few hours after, I was finally able to set things up and cooked the meat in the process. I was also able to build a temporary hut that I'm planning to expand further in the future. Of course I also created another hut for the creatures that I'm having a meal with

"Is it good?"

They circled themselves as if they agreed 

"I'm glad, but they'll be more even delicious if we had seasoning..."

The meat was without a doubt, bland and gamey. I tried to get rid of the gaminess, but most of it didn't come off

"I really need to hunt for ingredients and seasonings if I want to have a good meal...*sigh*..."

The small creatures looked at me after I said that, then looked at themselves

"Don't worry about me, as long as I have something to eat, I'm not going to complain that much"

The little creatures then finished eating and some of them left, while most of them were scattered around at our place

"I wonder where the others would go off to"

I hope they were satisfied with the meal though...even though it was too gamey

"What a day, I've never been this productive back in my old world!"

Because I was bedridden for so long...

"I really can...feel like...I can do anything...here..."

Having my hunger satiated, I easily got fall asleep, deeply asleep in a forest next to the little creatures whom I suddenly became friends with in this new world
