I wonder whether Crown Prince Roland was embellishing his deeds in his letters to his siblings? Perhaps only Florella and Judette who are the true talents among the royals?
The mad scientist? I think the whole family is done, either completely useless or thier competence is marred by insanity, and they've been this way for a few generations now.
BTW
It was a wanton piece of literature that I had to order by courier and with a hefty bribe of silence. But it was worth it. Written by an author claiming to be a noble-born lady, it details the truly shameless account of a romantic rendezvous with a castle guardsman.
Of course, I knew it to be a fabrication. There was no highborn lady on this side of the continent who would jeopardise their standing due to an infatuation with a common soldier. Such a thing was purely in the realm of fairytales, whereas the world was built on ambition as unbending as cold iron.
I now have a sneaking suspicion that the Author is the other sister, and she's writing about her own experiences... A literary Only Fans if you will.
