In the beginning, not just the Universe, but all of creation, there were two planes of existence. These planes existed before the likes of realms like Dreams and Imagination.

They were two, and they were the first.

They were called Order, and Chaos.

Order was filled with laws, these laws dictated the rules. Those living in the world of order could choose to obey or disobey, but order always prevailed, because this was the rule of the world.

However, unlike Order, Chaos was different. It had some semblance of laws and rules, but only if those laws and rules dictated there were no laws or rules. The law was Chaos, and the Rules weren't even an afterthought.

Before there were any other living beings, two beings lived in each world. The Creator God who gave birth to existence, ???, and the being born from his creation, a byproduct of order, Chaos itself.

??? disappeared after making existence, it wasn't heard or seen from again, no one knew where our God had gone, and no one knew what it wanted. And so there was only one being left.

While the world of Order grew naturally, with life sprouting and consciousness slowly taking over intelligent beings, Chaos was more perverse. Chaos did not know of anything, it was like a child born of instinct. Unknowing of Order, or of ???, it did what it thought was natural, spreading what it was.

Things were created, of life, of nothing. The concepts of laws didn't exist in Chaos, it only did what it thought was natural, strangely enough, its children had similarities to the world of Order. But Chaos wasn't a father, it was Chaos. It was a creature and ate, this led to its children being consumed to fill its endless anarchy. Unfortunately, Chaos's children were not smart, they did not have consciousness.

Many did not escape, being similar to their father they only spread chaos, creating their own children or trying to eat their father in turn. This went on for eons, eating and being eaten, instinct ruling all in the grand realm of chaos. But as time passed, cracks appeared between Chaos and Order, both sides began to interact.

Chaos was the first to meet with Order, it was like meeting its mortal enemy. It tried to enter Order to spread chaos, but a strange barrier stopped it from escaping its world.

Eventually, through the interaction of the two worlds, chaos would leak into the World of order, and chaos would receive the blessing of consciousness in addition to a small form of order in turn.

The beings who received these blessings quickly came to understand their situation. The few who gain thought, were the first children of Chaos, in light of their new intellect, they too tried to escape, not to spread their Father's will, but to escape it.

However, like their father, they could not leave. Instead, they ran and hid in the corners of the Chaotic plane they lived in. They waited until they could find their escape and one day they did.

For the first time, a creature of chaos left through a crack before one of the children's very eyes. Ecstatic, it went to tell its siblings and they devised a plan.

If they couldn't leave, then instead they should have those who can go to the other side and find a way for them to come over too. To do this, they needed children of their own, those not cursed by the chaotic thoughts of the all-father they feared.

Studying the world of Order through the cracks, the children created a race, they took on similarities of the growing Vessels of Thought, only they had crazed features coming from the world that is Chaos.

The children sent out their new race, giving them pieces of their strength to help them on their journey. The race created by the children of Chaos went across the world of Order, and their bloodline thinned as they spread around the world, many forgot their purpose, but those that remembered were zealots in helping their ancestors come into the world of Order.

They carved out a place in Order, those with this bloodline are commonly called Demons, wherever they may exist this is a common point. If it is called a demon, it has a fragment of chaos within its bloodline, like a cancer that endlessly spreads, a harmless one, as it has long been annexed by Order.

Even still, the children still wait, in their corners of Chaos. They keep in contact with the Demons that remain loyal and watch for their father who remains hidden from all, for he too has disappeared, much like the Creator God.

This was the world Cain had entered, a world opposite of his own. One without order and ruled by nonsense. He was very well likely to die without knowing how he did die.

...

On a rock of flesh, Cain ate a pig monster's leg, the leg was the only body part that looked edible, the rest of the body was covered in spikes secreting mucus, it didn't even look like a pig, its leg was just pink so Cain called it a pig. It was tough differentiating anything in this place.

'Time doesn't seem present, I became an old man earlier, right now I'd say I'm in my forties, but it might change at any time.....I wonder if this expends my lifespan, or do I even have a lifespan anymore?'

Like how creatures of Chaos have to obey Order when they enter it, Cain was blessed by Chaos by living in it. In this place, Fate couldn't touch him, he could live forever, and his strength multiplied oddly enough.

Strangely, everything was balanced but at a moment's notice, the scales could flip from one side to the other.

'As much as this world fulfills my wants and desires, it is not real to me. Without breaking the rules to achieve my wants, what is the point? I may have all I desire here, but this is a world of anarchy, I will never be at the top of the food chain, here I am the same as the rest, a beast surviving, and all beasts eventually succumb to another. I will complete my studies and leave as soon as possible. If I can even leave that is...'

Finishing his meal, Cain patted his belly. The beast was surprisingly tasty, better than most food he's eaten.

Traveling again, Cain passed a stream of floating lights and liquids. Touching the stream, he realized he was only seeing the river but he couldn't touch it. In this place, he couldn't trust his senses when it came to the environment, but so far all the beasts he encountered didn't mess with his senses, which was good.

"Hah, I might be here awhile."

Cain floated aimlessly, reminiscent of the times he explored the abyss in the Dream Realm.

"Ah, how long ago was that, everything feels so fleeting when you truly live, only when you are lifeless does time seem to slow down.

"To have more time and lose meaning or to have less time but gain meaning, I feel many choose the former more than the latter. Such is the way of humans, we are fleeting, like a breeze, there for a moment of enjoyment, but gone the next second. Nothing will change that even if everything feels longer."

Colors saturated, and an aimless traveler disappeared in the chaotic movements of the world.
