Rita frowned at Sheila's strange pose.

"What are you up to? Have you gone crazy?"

Since the room was almost completely dark, Sheila's figure was somewhat intimidating.

Why did it seem like she was going to throw the clock?

Had she gone mad?

Sheila sighed and asked seriously:

"Why was the door locked?"

She looked her sister directly in the eyes, waiting for an answer.

"Don't you realize? It's your punishment. How can you go out with a man when there are so few days left until your wedding?" Rita retorted disdainfully.

Her sister's condescending tone, accompanied by the headache from the hangover, made Sheila explode with anger.

"My wedding? I never asked for a wedding!"

"Don't talk to me like that!" Rita snapped.

How dare her good-for-nothing sister shout at her like that?

Sheila laughed at Rita's reaction.

It seemed that her younger sister was the type of person who picked fights with others without expecting consequences due to her position.

"What? Are you going to tell mom so she can punish me?" Sheila said mockingly.

This comment greatly annoyed Rita, as it insinuated that she was a spoiled child.

"Who do you think you are!? You're ungrateful! Have you already forgotten all the money they gave you while you were abroad to live?"

Those words brought unpleasant memories to Sheila, to which she sarcastically replied:

"Oh, of course. I'm very grateful for every damn cent they gave me to survive. That's why I came here personally to give it all back."

Rita frowned at that statement.

Give it all back?

Who did her sister think she was now to speak with such confidence?

"Why do you think we would want you to give us back the money?" Rita asked arrogantly.

This response made something clear to Sheila. Her younger sister had a very high ego, and no matter how much she argued with her, it would be like fighting a wall.

Regaining some of her reasoning, Sheila concluded that it was better to discuss this with those who truly ran the family, and that would be her father.

"I don't care. I just want to settle my debts," Sheila said, heading for the door with determination.

She was tired of that room and the pointless arguments.

 Suddenly, Rita blocked the exit.

"Get out of the way," Sheila said seriously.

"What? Do you want to see that man again?" Rita asked mockingly.

That man?

Was her sister talking about Benjamin?

"That's none of your business, move"

Clinging to the door frame, Rita prevented Sheila from leaving. This attitude made Sheila see her as a little girl.

Was Rita really going to behave like this?

◇◆◇

Benjamin had a rather hectic day after parting ways with Sheila.

First, he attended to his business where he dealt with several issues related to casino clients who had caused problems.

Later, he resolved Joel's computer problem. After handing over the PC to his assistant to take it to Joel's house, Benjamin planned to go to the gym to exercise.

As he took off the clothes he had worn all day, he felt something in his pocket.

"Hey... it can't be," Benjamin said as he burst out laughing.

It was Sheila's phone number that she had given him when they had breakfast at the hotel!

That was how he remembered how he had asked for Sheila's phone number when they were at the store.

No wonder Sheila had shown that look of confusion!

Benjamin couldn't help but feel like an idiot.

After a few seconds, he remembered something else.

The laptop!

After quickly changing into more sporty clothes, Benjamin ran to where his car was parked.

Checking his suitcase, he found the bag from the store where the laptop and a phone were.

Benjamin couldn't help but laugh because seriously, both he and that girl were a lost cause when it came to remembering their things.

And that would be all the chapters these days! I admit it took more than 24 hours, but well, something unexpected came up.

The next update of this novel will be on February 7th, so we'll be back to the weekly publication rhythm. I'll do my best to bring longer chapters and to see if in the near future I'll offer on Patreon advance chapters, but I want to stabilize all my novels first.

See you next week!
