The long, thin hallway led to the sign that read:

Shandlock Way

Elise saw a girl near the study desk.

'Who are you?', the girl asked.

'Elise Monahan', she answered.

'You're new'.

'Everyone tells me', Elise said.

'My brother, Ryan Pierson, is gone. I'm Rebecca Pierson'.

'You brother'.

'The Shandlock Family came before us'.

'I see'.

'Do you?'.

'Yes'.

'Do you speak simply?'.

'No', Elise said.

'Good, because I am aganist the war'.

'You know of the war?'.

'Yes, but I am tired mentally'.

'Are you psychic?'.

'Yes, but in outer space others hate me'.

'Why?'.

'Because the Keepers of Time and Magic won't tolerate the laws of space'.

'I see, why?'.

'Because they're into space politics; they're officious'.

'I'm sorry to hear that', Elise said.

'I am young, not old. But for the future, such matters will hurt the alien people'.

'I don't understand'.

'In time you will; in time'.

'I'd like to speak to you again. Goodbye, Rebecca'.

'Goodbye, Elise Monahan'.
