"Aw man, it sounds embarrassing to say out loud," Temko thought, acknowledging the raw honesty in his own sentiments. "But it's true."

"Well, I can't bear anything happening to you as well, so whether you like it or not, I'm coming with you," Serena firmly declared, her determination matching his own.

Temko's brow furrowed, and he couldn't help but question her. "Did you even listen to what I said?" he quickly retorted, hoping she grasped the gravity of the situation.

"Yes, and I'll help," Serena responded resolutely, emphasizing her determination.

"No way!" Temko shouted in refusal, his protective instincts flaring up again.

Serena maintained her composure, recognizing the depth of his concern. "Well, if you have three years, it will be really difficult to reach the land of demons normally," she explained, trying to shed light on the challenges they would face.

"Of course, but does that have anything to do with you joining?" Temko questioned, his annoyance evident in his tone.

Serena took a deep breath, her voice calm yet resolute. "I'm one of the best alchemists in the region, second only to my mother. With my knowledge of alchemy and crafting, I could make a cure for the curse," she explained, hoping to alleviate his fears and prove her worth in the quest. Temko's eyes narrowed as Serena's words sank in. He couldn't ignore the gravity of the situation. Morana's magic was formidable, capable of inflicting agony from a distance. The thought sent shivers down his spine.

He clenched his fists, frustration, and fear bubbling within him. "What if you don't succeed?" Temko questioned, his voice tinged with concern. "Morana's magic isn't weak. It haunts me, even now, and I still feel the lingering sting of her malevolence." Serena locked eyes with Temko, her gaze unwavering. She understood the weight of his worries, the fear that coursed through his veins. But she refused to let it weaken her resolve. "I won't deny the power of Morana's magic," she replied, her voice steady despite the apprehension in her heart. "But I won't let it deter me either I find some way to help,” she says. Temko's brow furrowed, torn between his desire to protect Serena and his recognition of her capabilities. He took a deep breath, trying to reconcile his concerns with the unwavering faith he had in her. "I know you're skilled, Serena," he admitted, his voice tinged with vulnerability. A soft smile tugged at the corners of Serena's lips, a gentle reassurance in the face of Temko's worries. "I understand your concern, Temko," she said, her voice filled with empathy. "But remember, you are not alone in this, we can do it together. Serena reaches out her hand to touch both Temko’s hands, “Trust me”. Until he finally decides to allow her to join. Not because she could probably cure the curse but because she could provide high-quality potions at a cheaper price and possibly help him develop magic in an unorthodox way. “Alright I’ll trust you,” he says as he pauses and sighs “Gosh your stubborn”. Temko's shoulders relaxed, a mix of relief and exasperation washing over him. He couldn't help but chuckle at Serena's persistence and unwavering spirit. "Alright, I'll trust you," he conceded, a glimmer of amusement dancing in his eyes. "But I must say, you're incredibly stubborn."

Serena grinned mischievously, her eyes sparkling with a hint of mischief. "Well, someone has to keep you on your toes," she teased, gently nudging him with her elbow. "Besides, where's the fun in taking the easy path?“. He couldn’t help but laugh, “Good point”. As they’ve claimed their resolutions, Temko waves farewell to Serena he continues down the trails across the pathways of Arcanvale Merchants buying the remaining necessities he’ll need for his journey. A smile played on Temko's lips as he couldn't help but laugh. "Good point," he chuckled, appreciating Serena's wit and determination. With a final wave of farewell, Temko watched as Serena faded into the distance, her figure becoming smaller against the backdrop of the sprawling landscape.

With renewed purpose, Temko turned his attention to the trails that lay ahead, weaving through the vibrant pathways of Arcanvale. His steps were brisk and determined as he made his way to the bustling market square, where merchants displayed their wares in colorful stalls.

Amidst the lively atmosphere, Temko embarked on a quest of his own, seeking out the remaining necessities for his impending journey. He navigated the maze of merchants, carefully selecting items that would aid him in his adventure.

He bartered with skilled craftsmen for a sturdy leather backpack, capable of carrying his provisions and essentials. Next, he procured a set of durable climbing gear from a seasoned mountaineer, ensuring he would be prepared for any rugged terrain that lay ahead.

As he ventured further, he sought the expertise of a wise herbalist, gathering medicinal herbs to aid him in times of need. The aromas of various herbs wafted through the air, filling his senses with a comforting familiarity.

With each purchase, Temko felt a growing sense of readiness and anticipation. The weight of the items in his bag served as a tangible reminder of the challenges that awaited him, but also of the strength and resilience he possessed.

As he made his final purchase, a gleaming compass to guide his way, Temko couldn't help but reflect on the trust he had placed in Serena. Her unwavering support and determination had bolstered his own resolve, giving him the courage to embark on this daunting journey. With his provisions secured and his spirit fortified, Temko slung the backpack over his shoulders and turned towards the horizon. The sun bathed the landscape in golden hues, casting a warm glow upon his face.

With each step he took, the trails of Arcanvale embraced him, whispering stories of past adventurers who had traversed these paths. Temko felt a sense of kinship with those who had come before him, understanding the weight of their quests and the significance of their endeavors. With Serena's words echoing in his mind and the companionship of his newfound supplies, Temko sets his way off home after the long day.

As Temko prepared for his journey, clutching the shiny compass he had just purchased, he couldn't help but think about Serena's unwavering support. Her belief in him had given him the strength to face the challenges ahead. With his supplies in order and his determination intact, he set off, the sun casting a warm glow on the beautiful landscape.

As he walked, he felt a strange presence lurking nearby. Shadows moved and flickered among the tall trees, as if observing his every move. The compass, usually reliable, began to act strangely. Its needle trembled and shook with an unsettling energy. Temko couldn't help but feel a sense of unease creeping into his mind.

The sound of rustling leaves filled the air, as if whispering secrets. Whenever Temko turned to investigate, he caught glimpses of elusive figures darting away, leaving behind a lingering feeling of unease. The compass in his hand echoed his apprehension, its needle swaying as if in response to hidden dangers lurking nearby.

As Temko reached a bend in the trail, a chilling breeze swept through the trees, carrying whispers that made his heart race. The compass spun wildly, its needle whirling in erratic circles, mirroring the chaos in Temko's thoughts. The once-trusted guide now seemed mysterious and confusing, reacting to the unseen perils that surrounded him.

His instincts told him danger was near, but the compass offered no relief until their eyes withdrew. It eventually settled, pointing north, as if granting him a momentary respite. However, a lingering sense of danger remained, hinting at greater dangers yet to be revealed.
