Camp Crystal Lake had been around since nineteen thirty-five.

It was built by Joseph Christy, 27, who wanted young people to enjoy the camp for one or two weeks during the hot, June summers. But, as World War II started, it wasn't until nineteen forty-six when it re-opened. On Friday, June 13, 1955, Joseph suffered a heart attack...and died. He was forty-seven. His wife, Margaret Christy, 45, died from cancer. And their son, Steve Christy, was born that year. The son had been raised by his Aunt Olivia, 25, and her husband, Uncle Robert Christy, 28. Steve grew up enjoying the outdoors. During the nineteen sixties, the Cold War dragged on. On November 22, 1963, in Dallas, Texas, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated. The horror wasn't over, as the fear of death, and bad luck, soured everyone, as the flag of the United States of America dropped to half-mast, outside the White House.
