Now, on to the chapter!

"A pyramid..."

The matriarch frowned, confused.

"Yeah," Dan nodded. "Or a place with a lot of huge, burrowing worms..."

"Wuffa worms?"

"That's the one," Dan snapped his fingers. "We need to find the place that has the highest concentration."

"That would be the forbidden mountains... but that area is a fortress for the nightsisters."

"That won't be a problem," Dan waved at Merlyn and Ultron. "We're well protected."

"Perhaps," The matriarch shivered as Merlyn grinned. "But the nightsisters are devious, you would do well to use caution."

"We'll be careful," Dan nodded. "Now can you please..."

A rush of thrusters drowned his words. Two Ultron drones landed in the clearing, each with a heavy mechanical box. They placed their burdens on the ground and retreated into the air.

"What the hell, Ultron..." May picked leaves from her and Bear's hair. "Why no warning?"

"Sorry, little miss," Ultron smirked. "But in light of the new dangers, I have prepared you each a set of armor."

The metal boxes unfolded, two sets of twin suits displayed to the world. Matt grey finishes, trimmed with red, the symbol for the house of El emblazoned on the chests.

"Are these Ironman armors..." Dan stepped forward and touched the polished finish. "They're..."

"They're adorable," May walked around the pair, eyes bright. "Tiny little robot suits for Bear and Stormy!"

"These are the most advanced armors I could create," Ultron huffed. "I used both Stark tech and the kryptonian database to make something far beyond Ironman."

"Maybe YOUR Ironman..."

Dan laughed. This Ultron came from the MCU. Tony Stark from the comics had suits that rivaled the strongest gods.

"Also, Tony killed you before he ever made his best suit," Dan poked at the A.I.. "I bet the armor he used on Thanos would roll you over."

"That's impossible I... wait, Tony killed me?" Ultron's eyes flickered. "I lost?"

"The Avengers saved the day," Dan nodded. "And Tony's newest armor uses vibranium nano-bots and an improved arc reactor."

The Machine sagged, lost in a daze. Dan ignored his plight and tapped on the new armor.

"So, how do we put these on?"

"This is amazing!"

Dressed in their new suits, Dan and May flew toward a desolate mountain. Their target was dark, even under the warm light of the sun.

"I designed the A.I. interface to be idiot-proof," Ultron bosted. "Even your primitive pets can fly without issue!"

"Why didn't you make me one!"

Merlyn popped into existence and drifted through the air. He would float about and enjoy the landscape, then teleport back into the middle of the group.

"You're clearly fine," Ultron snorted. "Our summoner and his family are the priority."

"You mean our Master," Merlyn smirked. "You can say it, you know, it's just the truth!"

"Stop bickering, you two," Dan snapped his fingers and pointed. "We're here."

Bear and Stormy led the charge for ground. Neither had been excited to fly through the air. May only convinced them with the promise of her homemade pet food.

The area lacked vegetation. Dead trees were the closest to green life, desiccated and grey. They toppled under the wind of their arrival.

"My sensors detect nothing, just a solid mountain of useless rock," Utron's eyes flashed. "There is no life larger than an insect."

"Then your sensors are the useless ones," Merlyen tumbled from the sky, hat askew. "There are dozens of witches within the mountain, and something else..."

"If I'm right, it should be an infinity gate," Dan rubbed his hands together. "A powerful construct that can take you anywhere in the galaxy, or destroy entire stars."

"We can already travel instantly with the phantom zone," May frowned. "We're not going to be destroying any stars, so what good is this place?"

"That kind of technology is valuable in and of itself," Ultron peered harder at the mountain. "But I can still detect nothing..."

"Be ready, the witches approach!"

Merlyn swept his robe toward the mountain. A small group of rancors made their way down from the summit. The muscular beasts clasped the rocky slopes in their thick-knuckled hands. The swift descent brought a pair of black-robed women into sight, seated on the creature's backs.

"Who dares to trespass on the forbidden mountain!"

A younger, red-headed woman lashed a whip toward the group. Her green eyes held a hint of yellow, cruel, and dark in the twilight sun.

"This place belongs to the nightsisters, outsiders," The more mature woman brushed her short black hair away from her eyes. "You can never return home, now that you've come."

"Nonsense," Merlyn snorted. "The combined might of all the casters on this world couldn't stop our advance."

A flick of his staff brought a chain of lightning. It swept between the woman and her mounts, a ribbon of electric fire. Singed and unconscious, the nightsisters slumped to the ground.

"That was anti-climactic..." May poked at the downed women. "They're still breathing"

"Let's get a move on, we need to be off this planet in a few hours to keep our schedule."

Dan stepped over the nightsisters and followed their trail back up the mountain. The grey stone gave way to a cave, its slope a downward rush.

"Can these suits see in the dark?" May tapped the side of her head. "If not, we'll need some torches."

"They can see in perfect darkness," Ultron stomped into the cave. "This place appears as solid rock on all my scans."

Stormy darted forward, around the A.I.'s oversized legs. He vanished into the network of tunnels, Bear close behind.

"Come back, you idiots!"

Dan charged after the wayward pets, May on his heels. They were fast, but not compared to the motivated feline and his foolish brother. The way ahead divided, three tunnels that led into the depths.

"Split up?" May turned to Dan. "If not, we'll definitely lose them."

"Alright, but Merlyn goes with you," Dan nodded. "Ultron can take one path, and I'll go straight ahead."

May leaned in for a hug, face determined. Dan waved as she dove off, Merlyn on her tail. Ultron shrugged and sauntered down his tunnel, eyes lit like searchlights.

Dan flexed his armored hands. This suit was a match for most Star Wars technology, but the force was weird. Danger ignored, he plunged into the dark, on the trail of his foolish pets.
