Su Ling couldn't stay in the car all the time, or she would seem out of place. After hesitating for a moment, she went back to the hospital room.

"Auntie, where have you been?"

Gu Kai Xuan seemed to like Su Ling a lot, and he reached out his little hand as soon as he saw her.

Su Ling quickly came to the bedside and took hold of the chubby little hand.

"Auntie went outside to get some things. Are you awake?"

Gu Kai Xuan nodded his head and said contentedly, "I'm awake."

Su Ling then asked with concern, "How is your wound? Does it still hurt?"

Gu Kai Xuan said in a soft voice, "It won't hurt if I don't move around."

Su Ling couldn't help but purse her lips and smile. She stroked his soft hair and said, "Then don't move around. Just bear with it for a few more days, and you'll be fine."

As soon as Su Ling finished speaking, Li Xueying squeezed over.

"Kai Xuan, Uncle Guan has found a lot of things. Tell Auntie Ying what you like to eat, and Auntie will get it for you."

Su Ling was pushed aside, and her eyes couldn't help but turn cold.

She said in a light voice, "Kai Xuan has just had surgery, and he can't eat too much dry and hard food. He can't eat too much either. Miss Li, don't bother."

Gu Kai Xuan grinned. "Thank you, Auntie. I know."

Seeing that Gu Kai Xuan was listening to Su Ling's words, Li Xueying's face became even uglier.

Su Ling curled her lips and sat down at the head of the bed.

Just then, Guan Shan asked, "Mr. Sheng, where are we going next?"

Su Ling immediately turned to look at Sheng Hongye, who was eating bread.

She was very curious about where he was going next.

If he wasn't going to Lizhou, she would go herself.

Sheng Hongye swallowed his bread and looked at Gu Kai Xuan. "Wait until Kai Xuan gets better, and then we'll transfer to Lizhou."

Guan Shan was slightly stunned, and his eyes flickered momentarily.

"Lizhou is no longer inhabited, why is Mr. Sheng still going there?"

Sheng Hongye said in a faint voice, "I still have some things in Lizhou; I must go there to see."

Guan Shan hurriedly said, "Mr. Sheng, the population base of Lizhou is large. If all of them are turned into zombies, it will be very difficult to deal with."

Sheng Hongye threw the bread paper into the trash can, looked at the blocked window, and said, "Zombies are afraid of sunlight; we can go in during the day."

Guan Shan suddenly stopped talking.

Sheng Hongye swept his eyes, and his gaze deepened a little.

Su Ling also looked at Guan Shan, but met Sheng Hongye's gaze, and the two of them looked at each other like a drop of water in the water, and then they separated.

At this time, there was a groan in the room.

Su Ling remembered that there was a young man with a broken bone in the room and immediately walked to the bed.

The young man indeed opened his eyes and saw Su Ling, shuddering.

"You are...?"

Su Ling hooked a professional smile, and her voice was soft: "You don't have to be afraid. We are all good people. How did you get into this hospital, and what about the others?"

The teenager didn't know what he remembered, and suddenly trembled with fear.

He said incoherently, "The earthquake happened. My mother was killed by a rock, and some people turned into zombies. I am from a nearby village. I got gastroenteritis, and my mother took me to see a doctor, but everyone died. I was also pressed under the rock."

The teenager was obviously scared, and his tears were dripping.

Su Ling sighed and sat down at the bedside.

Gently, she said, "You're safe now. This gentleman here saved you."

Footsteps sounded, and Sheng Hongye came to the bedside.

"You should thank this young lady. She's an excellent surgeon and has already reattached your broken leg for you."

The young man immediately looked at Su Ling and nodded appreciatively before turning back to Sheng Hongye.

"Thank you, sister, and brother-in-law."

"They're not related. Don't call them that randomly," Li Xueying said displeasedly as she came to the bedside, asserting her dominance by standing next to Sheng Hongye.

The young man's face reddened as he looked apologetically at Su Ling.

"I'm sorry, sister."

Su Ling smiled generously, "It's alright. There's some fast food here. Eat some and regain your strength."

Su Ling turned around and took out a box of canned food and bread, handing them to the young man.

She asked, "What's your name?"

The young man gratefully accepted the food. "My name is Geng Hao."

Sheng Hongye glanced at Li Xueying, his eyebrows slightly furrowing, then turned to Geng Hao and asked, "What are your plans for the future?"

Geng Hao's eyes reddened immediately, and he took a deep breath before asking, "Brother, is it really like the movies now, the end of the world?"

Sheng Hongye nodded solemnly, "It seems like it."

Geng Hao bit his lip hard, choked up as he said, "I'm an orphan now. My mother is gone, and I don't know where to go."

After a brief contemplation, Sheng Hongye looked at Geng Hao and said, "You can stay with us for now. Once you've recovered from your injuries, we can discuss your plans."

Geng Hao's eyes lit up, about to express his gratitude, but suddenly, a muffled bang came from outside the door, followed by dragging footsteps.

Li Xueying immediately let out a sharp scream and clung to Sheng Hongye's arm.

Su Ling also stepped back and grabbed onto a nearby pole.

Guan Shan darted to the door, where two grotesque-looking zombies were shuffling toward them. Then, with another muffled bang, a slab of stone was lifted by a zombie, revealing an oddly-shaped one crawling out from inside.

"Mr. Sheng, it's zombies."

Guan Shan walked to the two bags and pulled out two baseball bats, handing one to Sheng Hongye.

As the zombies approached the door, Li Xueying screamed again, tightly holding onto Sheng Hongye.

Unable to bear it any longer, Su Ling spoke in a low voice, "Zombies can detect sounds. It might attract even more zombies. Miss Li, you'd better keep your mouth shut."

Li Xueying pulled on Sheng Hongye while glaring at Su Ling.

"How do you know that zombies can detect sounds? Are you in league with them or something?"

Su Ling sneered, angered, "Miss Li, do you want to say that I'm colluding with zombies?"

Li Xueying opened her mouth, ready to say something, but was immediately rebuked by Sheng Hongye.

"Xueying, be quiet."

Guan Shan, frowning, asked, "Mr. Sheng, what should we do? Should we go out and lure the zombies away?"

Sheng Hongye walked to the door, looked outside, and then said, "Let's not go out for now. Let's assess the situation first."

"Alright."

As soon as Guan Shan finished speaking, the zombies began smashing the door continuously, making loud banging sounds, which became annoyingly distressing.

Sheng Hongye held a baseball bat in his hand, standing at the door with a calm expression. His composure somewhat eased Su Ling's heart. However, before she could feel any relief, she heard a slow shuffling sound again.

Seeing more and more zombies gathering outside, all sorts of grotesque shapes, all congregating at the door, Li Xueying screamed again.

"Brother Hongye, what do we do? Won't they rush in?"

The sharp sound immediately agitated the zombies surrounding the door, making them continuously bang on it.

Su Ling couldn't take it anymore, and she said in a low voice, "The glass can't be broken?"

Sheng Hongye turned to look at Su Ling.

Su Ling quickly shifted her gaze to Geng Hao.

Such matters should be kept confidential, but just as she had the thought, a crisp cracking sound was heard.

"Glass defense reduced by twenty. Cracks have appeared. Host, please continue to reinforce."
