Even when he already confirmed that he was fine, Zheng Roufeng still insisted on getting a full body check up to make sure everything was really fine.

Alexander also seems to have the same sentiment thus Jason had nowhere to avoid it.

"I told you I'm fine," Jason said for who knows how many dozens of times.

"Boy, it isn't wrong to be sure," Alexander interrupted since he knew his son in-law didn't dare to retort what his son said.

"......." Is he your son or is it me?

"Since you're fine, you can start working but take care of your health. Roufeng you need to make sure he didn't overwork himself. Look at me, I look like I'm in my 80s because I worked too hard in my youth."

"Yes dad, I will take care of Jason. But dad you still look great, like you're still in your 30s."

Jason: Oho, look at these two. Look at this guy. I thought you're quite thin skinned but who knew your skin is actually thicker than the Great China Wall and also a field of sugar cane in your mouth.

However Jason was too lazy to complain and just let the two people bond with each other.

Alexander smiled amiably the whole time he interacted with his son and son in-law. He knew his son chose a good man, too good in his opinion.

Looking at the two young men already walking away, Alexander called out his assistant who had been with him for almost thirty years.

"Ron, have you already finished all your investigation?"

He didn't want to do this kind of thing either but who told him to have only this one son that he cherished more than even his own soul.

"Yes. He is indeed Gu Feng's grandson. His mother Zheng Liya is the only child  of Zheng Haoran, Gu Feng's old friend. He married a teacher before they both built their own restaurant chains. He also helped Gu Feng during his early days building his business. Thus because of gratitude, Gu Feng decided to marry his second son, Gu Xihuai to Zheng Liya after the Zheng couple died."

Zheng Liya was a resolute woman just like her father. She couldn't bear to live under such a scum, thus she decided to divorce him and take care of her son all by herself.

"Now his son is marrying my son. Tsk, who would have thought the world would be so small. There's the more reason why I don't think it's good for Jason to know who his mother really is. This is a huge spider web of mess," Alexander sighed.

Currently he feels like his son's life is already perfect as it is. He didn't want Jason to feel like he did something wrong or even felt wronged. There was no need to fight or point fingers anymore. Just continue living happily.

"Did they get the invitation?" Alexander asked.

"Yes, they get them. Gu Feng sent the invitation himself to young master Zheng Roufeng. Chairman Zhang Lan will also attend with his family members."

"Whatever it is, just protect the two of them."

"Yes, as you wish master."

A month passed by in an instant since Bai Wehan had been apprehended by the police.

Jason had been back in Country M for almost two weeks and the news about his whereabouts weren't leaked anywhere but his group members knew where he was.

"Will you really testify against him in court? The court hearings will be broadcast nationwide, you know," Raebin asked for confirmation.

"Well, it doesn't matter. I just want to see him one last time."

After a month of no news, Jason arrived at the court hearing which shocked many people.

To be honest, Jason didn't care much what happened to the protagonist since just like the World Consciousness that turn out to become Bai Wehan's system told him, this world was doomed to be destroyed and disintegrated into strings of data thus even if Bai Wehan wasn't sentenced to death, nothing would change.

With the appearance of Jason, the media fervently reported the current news.

🔥[HOT!] Jason Jung, the victim of Bai Wehan's crime

🔥[HOT!] Jason Jung attended as the witness!!

They tried to ask questions but the bodyguards were firm in not allowing them to get close.

Jason calmly attends the court hearing with his lawyer. Zheng Roufeng also attended but he walked with Alexander instead.

'Why do I feel like my dad is being too close with my husband? It's not a bad thing but it seems like they're scheming something especially that old man. He looks like he's going to scam someone with that fake smile.'

Alexander who always smiled sincerely when interacting with his sons didn't know that Jason was bad-mounting him.

"Hmm Jason looked nervous," Alexander couldn't help but wonder when his son didn't look like he was in a good mood.

'Father in-law, you have been dealing with the police so many times so maybe you don't understand how uncomfortable and nervous normal people get when they have to attend a court hearing of a crime involving them.' Zheng Roufeng thought while hoping how he could sit beside Jason and reassure him by hugging or holding his hands.

Jason, who was thought to be nervous, didn't actually feel anything. It's not like it was his first time being in court. The original Jason also had an experience being in court and interacting with the police.

The court started to quiet down when Bai Wehan was escorted inside. He looked vastly different from how he looked just a month ago, even Jason was shocked.

The moment he saw Jason's face, Bai Wehan started to yell and shout, "Are you satisfied now Jason?! You ruined my life! You take away my lover! You deserved to die in hell!"

Bai Wehan's lawyer tried to placate him to calm down and not to talk nonsense but Bai Wehan ignored him thus the lawyer also decided to just let him be.

  - Thud thud

"Order! Order! *Defendant1person accused of a crime Bai Wehan, every word that you say can be used as an official statement in court so please be aware of what you're saying and please behave in court," the judge reminded him.

After everyone settled down, the court session started with the main witness called upon to give his testimony.

"First of all Sir Sergeyev, that's your real last name isn't it? Can you tell us what happened on April 20th in ANS resort."

"Your Honor can just call me Jason," he said before starting to recount what had happened during that day of the avalanche incident.

"My client Mr Bai wasn't even there to begin with and another witness, Mr Gu Junling can testify to that," Bai Wehan's lawyer immediately said.

"Yes he wasn't there but he was inside my room that night when I was hospitalized. He was there to suffocate me to death," Jason said directly.

The lawyer couldn't deny it since there was video evidence of that.

"Sir Jason, is your husband with you here today?" The judge asked.

"No but my father is here. He was also there when the police came."

"It's fine then since we already have video evidence so no need to call for more witnesses," the judge decided.

There were three allegations being put on Bai Wehan.

Two were from Jason; two first degree attempted murders2*(First degree murder is a planned murder, not an accident or on impulse ie. for self defense.) which both didn't succeed.

The third allegation was Bai Wehan using a bomb or any type of explosive to cause the avalanche but no evidence was found to convict him to this crime thus the judge and jurors only wanted to focus on the two attempted murders.

Jason provided evidence for every statement he gave testifying against Bai Wehan.

Bai Wehan who was restrained couldn't do anything so his lawyer decided to take out their last hidden card.

"This is my client's mental health report. He was diagnosed with schizophrenia and anxiety."

The report stated that Bai Wehan was mentally ill when he committed the crime since he said he heard a voice telling him to kill Jason for taking his lover away from him.

'Tsk, the lawyer wanted Bai Wehan to avoid being sentenced to a long prison sentence. Not that I care. If he's crazy, I can help put him in a mental asylum for the rest of his life.'

After a few hours, the court took a break before they resumed where the jurors all agreed that Bai Wehan would be imprisoned for five years in jail before he went out on two years of parole.

The reasoning for that was because nobody was killed and the medical report also made them think the case needed to be reevaluated if the *complainant3

Victim in the case. The same as plaintiff: the one who sued the criminal disagreed and asked for another court hearing.

I don't know much about law so if it doesn't make sense/wrong then I'm sorry

Unexpectedly, Jason agreed with the court's decision. His lawyer also didn't say much since he knew his client wasn't someone easy to mess with.

Outside of the court, reporters immediately swarmed towards Jason for answers.

"Jason, is it true that you purposely seduced Bai Wehan's long time lover?"

"Is that why the two of you are never on good terms?"

"Isn't five years too short? Even military service is two years so five years for two attempted murder seems too short."

"Can you tell us what really happened?"

"Jason, are you really gay or are you just. bisexual?"

Jason ignored all the reporters and was escorted into his car before he drove away.

Bai Wehan, who was actually gagged during the court session and only being let to talk when the judge allowed him to, was furious and started to act violently.

Jason didn't need to do anything to prove who's in the wrong and who's in the right.

Bai Wehan kept on looking around as if searching for someone while shouting that Jason ruined his life.

"It's a mess," Gu Junling couldn't help but say while he watched the live broadcast.

He noticed Zheng Roufeng among the spectators inside the court but soon forgot about him when he saw how different Bai Wehan looked.

Bai Wehan's fair skin looked pale and rough. His eyes looked lifeless and full of hatred. His hair was messy with the original silver blonde turning into a dry clunky blonde. His chapped lips didn't stop him from shouting profanities at Jason who remained silent if he wasn't asked to talk by either the judge or the prosecutor.

Most people that knew Bai Wehan also felt shocked seeing him. The fans that wanted to support and defend Bai Wehan couldn't help but feel disappointed.

From the beginning until the end, Jason didn't do anything they could criticize but Bai Wehan on the other hand....

After the court session ended, RaeStar immediately issued a statement that they would sue anyone slandering or spreading false information about Jason.

Jason was invited to various interviews but he declined to say anything about him and Bai Wehan.

The only answer he gave was about his husband.

"Yes I have a husband but my husband never know Bai Wehan and only know him as one of my group member. They have no relationship with each other whatever. I don't even know Bai Wehan had a lover and even if I knew, I won't seduce someone else's lover since I'm already married."

Jason's statement caused sparks of arguments on the internet.

•••Isn't he too young to get married? Why don't you just focus on your career more? No wonder he's not that well known.•••

•••Fgs, Jason is 26, he's already a full fledged adult. My parents already got me when they were 26.•••

••• I agree upstairs. People are just jealous seeing others get married. Plus Jason's royalty money from writing music can afford him until he died if he decided to quit the entertainment industry.•••

•••People above kept on saying he's too young but it seems out of topic. The main point is he's marrying a man. I repeat a man!•••

•••Fuck, Jason likes guys! Those girlfriends-fans must be devastated huh.•••

•••No wonder he is only well-known for his look. Perverted gay. I bet he's the one bottoming.•••

The arguments online showed that not many people could accept Jason being married to a man despite it being legal and not a crime. That's also why he didn't intend to reveal his husband's identity for the time being.

Zheng Roufeng is a full-fledged businessman not a celebrity, despite having appeared in magazines and giving interviews, he still prefers to be private, especially with his personal life.

Thus Jason didn't want people to intrude their personal life.

It's enough for them just to know he has a husband that he loves and he's happy.
