"Ares wanted to start an intelligence agency?" Zen asked.

"Yes, master."

Zen thought for a moment before he said, "Reduce our surveillance on him and give him more pocket money. Tell Vincent to remain by his side and not report anything to the matriarch or me unless Ares says so or when it's an emergency."

"I will relay your order to him. He also said that he wanted to meet you this weekend because he wanted to discuss something with you."

"Oh it seems my grandson misses me. Tell him to just come meet me at our family mansion in the capital. I will be there."

"Yes master."

The man in black immediately disappeared and not long after that, a black shadowy figure appeared inside Ares's room while he was still in the midst of dissecting a monster's corpse.

"Did you already find all of them?" Ares asked without even looking at the figure since he knew it was Vincent.

"Yes, young master. I already finished all the arrangements with Sir Ten."

"Good job. Come here, Vincent. I need to test something," Ares gestured to Vincent to get closer to him.

Vincent who initially stood at the door got closer in an instant, only a meter left between him and Ares.

"I injected demonic blood into this monster and it died after half an hour so I am curious how it will affect human beings. For example, someone like you."

-Zapp

Vincent's eyes widened when something suddenly stabbed through his abdomen. His young master was currently looking at him with emotionless eyes.

The magic gloves that he got for his young master was currently in his insides, fully coated in his blood, "W-why?"

"You're loyal to me aren't you Vincent? So trust me with your life."

Vincent's who initially felt angry couldn't help but felt disappointed instead. His young master didn't seem to trust him yet. Thus he just accepted his fate if that could make his young master feel reassured.

-Bukk

Vincent's body immediately fell to the floor and a pool of blood started to form underneath him. Vincent's eyes could still move but his body was paralyzed and was currently twitching due to the pain of being inflicted with demonic substances and other unknown substances.

"Hmm, you still don't die? It seems even the Moran have some kind of resistance towards demonic energy huh. Well, close your eyes Vincent."

After he finished his young master saying those words, Vincent could feel something cold slashing his neck and just like that, his vision turned dark.

Ares stared at Vincent's lifeless body in front of him before confirming that Vincent really died after he didn't feel any pulse on him.

He did this not on impulse or because he was bored. He also felt it would be a waste if Vincent really died but he needed to test the artifact he got from Siegfried Dungeon before he needed to go there again to fix the dungeon core and talked to Siegfried.

===================

Ares crouched down and put his right palm on top of Vincent's severed neck.

<Blessing>

He could feel his mana was being used and Vincent's severed neck slowly moved and was combined again as if it was being stitched together by an invincible force. The hole on Vincent's abdomen was slowly healed.

The initially pale face slowly becomes rosy again.

-Gasp

Vincent was jolted awake and he was breathing heavily while looking around him before touching his neck and abdomen with a bewildered expression.

"W-what happened? I thought..." Vincent couldn't finish his sentence.

"You really died just now."

Vincent turned and looked at his young master who was taking off his gloves as if he just finished his experiment for the day.

"Young master, you-"

He stopped abruptly. He didn't know what to say or ask. He, as a Moran, already pledged undying loyalty to the Targael thus he didn't have any resentment if his young master really killed him but what actually happened to him was bizarre.

It was as if he was being revived from death.

"I revive you from death because you're loyal to me. You don't need to think too much Vincent. Just take this as a loyalty test from me."

"A loyalty test?" Vincent was bewildered.

He was successfully revived so does that mean his loyalty passes the standard that his young master wanted? It is most probably so.

"Hn, a loyalty test. Why? Do you resent me for hurting you?" Ares asked nonchalantly since he knew from the way Vincent reacted, let alone resentment, he seemed to feel glad for some reason.

"Will you do this kind of test for my twin sister?"

"......." Why is he asking this as if he wanted Vanya to experience the same suffering? Are all siblings like this?

Seeing his young master was being silent, Vincent took that as a yes.

"Vanya might look like that but she is as loyal as me. She always felt unsure how to serve you young master so this test will help her feel more confident since she can prove her loyalty to you."

Before Ares could even say anything, Vincent immediately vanished from the room before coming back a few minutes later, dragging Vanya by the collar.

"Please kill her too, young master," Vincent said confidently.

Vanya: ????

Ares: ????

After explaining to Vanya, without even doing anything, she just killed herself by stabbing a dagger straight into her neck and fall face down on the floor. The floor which was already soaked with Vincent's blood became messier with Vanya's blood mixing in together.

Ares, who was already too stunned to speak, couldn't help but go through with it especially when Vincent was staring at him with starry eyes while his sister just died.

If it was his past self, Ares might just let Vanya be but it was a wonder why he felt his heart soften and couldn't help but revive Vanya in front of Vincent who looked like he was seeing a God performing a miracle.

Looking at two pairs of eyes, looking at him with full of reverence, Ares suddenly felt weird out and tired thus he left them to clean the mess while he went to the library just so that he didn't need to see them.

'Those starry eyes give me goosebumps.'

***********************

"Cedric, are you sure it will be here?" Ima asked when there was no one on sight.

"Yes. The first kidnapping will be tonight around the library area. I forgot who the student that might get kidnapped was but I'm sure it happened here."

-Klack

They suddenly heard someone trying to open the library's door from the outside thus Cedric who was hiding on a tree branch opposite of the library building couldn't help but felt guarded.

"Owww, why do I have to be dragged here?" A brown haired male youth was grumbling while trying to unlock the door with a thin metal pin.

A red haired male youth was standing beside him while holding a torchlight in his left hand and his right hand was grabbing the brown haired youth by his collar.

"I will help you trick Sir Emmanuel tomorrow so just open the damn door and I will cover the material for your new traps for a month."

"What the hell? It's them," Ima recognized the two of them.

They were Robin Valt and Ares Targael from class Zero.

After the door was opened, Robin immediately bolted away the moment Ares released his collar, "Goodnight class leader and bye!"

Ares went inside the dim lighted library and went to the area only allowed for first year. Even though he was intruding, he knew the moment he went to places he wasn't allowed or took any book out of the library, he would be apprehended by the spells being put all over the library.

He went to the area for magic books and as he expected, books about homunculus and necromancy weren't available. But he wasn't disappointed and just chose a few books about humans and monster anatomy.

"Err what kind of book is he reading?" Ima couldn't comprehend why a 16 years old chose to read that kind of book in the middle of the night.

Cedric already knew that Ares was eccentric to begin with so he didn't think much about it and focused more on the kidnappings that might have happened.

"Arghhh!"

As he expected, he heard the sound of a female shouting not far from where he was currently at and Ares also seemed to hear it but instead of walking out to check what happened, he acted like it was nothing and continued reading.

"........"

"........"

"Maybe because he didn't detect any demonic energy?" Ima tried to rationalize Ares's behavior.

"It doesn't matter if he doesn't want to help. The moment that guy started to use demonic energy, he still needed to move," Cedric said confidently since he had seen how the Targael reacted the moment they sensed or faced a demonic creature.

It was as if they saw their mortal enemy. It's their natural instinct.

-Swish

Cedric instantly left the library and went towards where the shouting voice came from.

Ares glanced at the tree branch where Cedric previously stood on and couldn't help but muttered inside his heart, 'Tsk, my luck is pretty bad. Who would have known tonight is the night of the first kidnapping. Fortunately I acted as if I didn't see him there.'

He already sensed something was off with that golden silhouette that always behind Cedric and both of them looked like they were covered by golden dust every time they moved thus Ares thought it might be a spell.

Most probably spells that make them undetectable or invincible.

"More problems will come my way if more people know I can see things others can't see."

Knowing that Cedric was more than capable of saving the girl, Ares decided to go back to his room in case Cedric might shamelessly asked him to help.

Around the same time, Cedric couldn't help but frown when he only managed to find a piece of cloth on the ground. No traces of injuries or battle around the area. Not even traces of demonic energy could be detected.

He already knew one of the identities of the Djinn inside the academy but he was never able to identify the second one since that bastard managed to flee every single time. The kidnapping was done by the second Djinn since the first one likes to act low key most of the time.

"Tsk, let's see how this Djinn will react if he had to face a Targael."

Yes, he already planned to use Ares to settle with the second Djinn since that was the most effective compared to him.

Who would believe it if he said that person was a Djinn?

Between him and Ares, it was obvious whose words would sound more convincing.

"Good plan. Work smart, not hard," Ima praised him.

"........" Why do I feel a chill on my back?

Ares looked around but he couldn't sense anything.

"Young master, we already finished cleaning everything," Vincent informed him with a smile.

Both him and Vanya already changed into clean outfits and were waiting for his order.

"Go home and sleep."

"Yes, young master," both of them said in unison.
