My name is Alexis, I had just finished writing a paper for my college English course and was deciding what game to play when it happened.

I was a simple person, I scored A's on my tests and kept my body healthy and in sporting shape. I liked playing video games and reading books, and I never touched a drug or cigarette in my life.

I liked keeping my chestnut brown hair in a ponytail that reached my shoulders, and my emerald green eyes were kinda rare last time I checked.

"Maybe some Elden Ring, I feel like having a challenge." (Alexis)

"👉  👍  💡! I  ✔️🫳  👉!" (???)

"Huh? Wha-" (Alexis)

"🧒  💭🛠  1️⃣!" (???)

And then the next thing I new, I was floating in a non-space staring at the Elden Ring character customization window.

"What is going on?" (Alexis)

I was reasonably sure that just a moment ago I was in my room about to play Elden Ring. Now I seem to be inside Elden Ring.

But that was just ridiculous. People cannot get into video games like this, the technology to achieve this doesn't exist yet and would not be capable of randomly shunting my consciousness around without a medium. 

There wasn't anybody in my room, nobody broke in, no one could have killed me without being really obvious about it. I also am not suicidal so I definitely did not kill myself.

It also couldn't have been a disease. Putting aside the fact that no disease is either that quick or lethal without symptoms, I know for a fact that my body is very healthy. I just got a medical checkup done a few days ago and I take care of my body.

Speaking of which, I cannot feel my body either so this can't be a practical joke. It also can't be kidnapping because the obvious video game character creation window, and again the fact that I currently lack a body. This leaves only one explanation.

"IM DREAMING! This is all a dream!" (Alexis)

Putting aside the fact that I can still speak despite not having a mouth. It really doesn't matter how I wound up unconscious, whether it was kidnappers or sudden drowsiness or a stroke induced coma somehow, it doesn't matter. That is a problem for waking Alexis, dreaming Alexis is who I am right now and since this is a dream-

"Screw it imma play this through to the end!" (Alexis)

"😂🤣😂🤣!" (???)

Hmm? I thought I heard something, must be my imagination.

"I'm going to pick 'wretch' as my starting class because it is objectively pretty well rounded with strong starting stats, and I'll take the stonesword keys since that gives me access to the folk hero's grave right off the bat. In other words, strong starting gear." (Alexis)

I then opened the detailed appearance panel. I took a moment to make the character look like me but with silver hair andd multicoloered eyes. The right eye was a deep azure blue, meant to be symbolic of glintstone and sorceries, the other was glistening gold, symbolic of divine power and incantations.

Also the default muscular look was actually more muscular than me. It comes wiht a six-pack I only have a four-pack.

"and that should be me everyone! Now to complete character and start the tutorial." (Alexis)

I mentally pressed the complete character buttton. Th moment I did so, my vision swam. I expected to hear the classic Elden Ring intro, instead I got a headache as knowledge was crammed into my mind and felt agony as if someone was playing build-a-bear with my body on the cellular level.

"😁  💡!  I  ❤️  👁  🫵!" (???)

My mind barely registered the odd voice before losing conciousness.

Then all was black.

I awoke with a start.

Fun fact: (???) is speaking using emojies. idk how well that will translate across platforms, if you aren't using mobile to view you might not be able to see them.

 

Also I have a job irl so posting is not going to be a regular thing. I don't have a schedule I just write whenever I fell like it. Don't be suprised if this story goes months without an update.
