Mina watched Abigail look through the menu nervously and smiled, her amused eyes causing two faint blushes of embarrassment to appear on Abigail's face.

"When you're done, I'll drive you home, or you can call a ride, either is fine." Mina didn't seem to have any plans for her, so Abigail couldn't help but look at the woman across from her with confusion.

"Then why did you help me? I don't want to sound ungrateful, but people rarely do anything without a motive behind their actions." Abigail said with a soft voice, but Mina's face didn't show any particular emotion besides curiosity.

"Well, let's pretend I did, I guess I want to help you? You didn't want to be here, yet you forced yourself, what a stubborn child." Mina's tone made it seem as if she were an elder to Abigail, but Abigail couldn't help but reach across the table and hold Mina's hand firmly hoping for an answer.

Mina's yellow and green eyes locked on her own, and Abigail's grip released the soft and tender hands and she shrunk back, but Mina didn't get angry.

"I just felt you needed help, so I helped you. They don't seem to like you very much either, so why not hang out with me for a bit." Mina didn't say anything else as the waiter came over.

"Order what you want." Mina placed a hand on the table and retrieved her phone from her bag, navigating the app store until she found a suitable mindless game to pass the time.

"All done?" Abigail looked up and saw those shining eyes staring at her again, and nodded carefully. Mina looked at her plate and then nodded, handing the waiter her card, then she led Abigail to the exit.

"Make sure you get home okay?" Mina said with a smile, yet her voice was slightly more serious than it had been before. Abigail nodded and called an Uber, and the two waited for a few minutes.

"If you need someone to talk to or to hang out with, you can call me, okay?" Mina handed Abigail a piece of paper with her number scrawled on it, and then watched Abigail turned to wave to Mina and then got into the car.

•••Xall'minnon•••

"Well, I guess I did a good thing?" Xall'minnon whispered as she walked towards her car and got in, the engine starting and she was already driving back to the hotel when she frowned slightly.

"Interesting." Xall'minnon changed direction and drove in towards a different area, the car coming to a stop outside a well lit café. Luckily the streets weren't busy so she managed to find a parking space quite easily.

"Hello." Xall'minnon entered the café with a cautious look, the demon she had sensed earlier in the night was right in front of her, a delicate looking girl in front of a screen playing with a sense of excitement you'd only find in hard-core gamers.

"Hey..." The girl was distracted, so Xall'minnon sat nearby and watched as she played the shooting game, her skills were above majority of what Cole's memories showed of his own attempts, yet when the girl lost, she pouted and exited the game with such fast and practiced movements, Xall'minnon wondered how many times she'd rage quit.

"You can call me Sig, what should I call you?" Sig didn't seem at all different from a human, but the sensation of confronting something at the same level as herself made Xall'minnon a bit on edge.

"You can call me Mina, I'll call you Sig." Mina wasn't surprised Sig didn't give her True Name, because although it was useless as a demon couldn't bind another demon, the knowledge alone was dangerous.

"Your name is nice. Um, sorry for coming over on such short notice, but..." Sig seemed to be in a inner debate with herself, but Mina simply waited until she finished.

"Well demons rarely come to this world, it was a surprise when I sensed another person here." Sig said while starting another match, but muted her microphone in advance.

"Don't you want to hear what they're saying?" Mina asked while looking at the character on screen surrounded by teammates, yet the following operation of Sig soloing half of the enemy team made her clap her hands in admiration.

"Well, I normally don't use anything beyond the level of a human being, it's less likely to be noticed like that. Of course, you also know the reason." Sig said while controlling her character to loot the fallen enemies items.

"Of course I know, the higher the chances of too many locals discovering our true identity, we'll be banished from this world." Mina wasn't unaware of the consequences of being too high profile.

"Well, neither making a car nor acquiring money for yourself would make any waves, but you saved someone who wasn't going to survive tonight, why?" Sig looked at Mina with eyes that seemed to be both puzzled and annoyed.

"Do you want to go and right my actions then?" Mina asked with a smile, but Sig shook her head and shifted in her chair and swiveled to face Xall'minnon.

"No need, just remember that although we seem powerful, it's relative to the situation. You don't know what repercussions saving that person will bring eithe-." Sig chided but Mina couldn't help but interrupting her.

"It's done, I'm not banished, so what's the problem?" Mina didn't believe Sig cared about her small acts, it was highly improbable that a demon would care about another demon's affairs if it didn't conflict with their own affairs.

"Oh whatever, I wanted to know why you saved someone you couldn't possibly know or who you would have a use for, but I can tell you'll just dodge the question." Sig sighed and got up and reached for her bag, retrieving a bottle of water and plopping down again on the chair.

"If you want an answer, I can tell you. I was bored, and saw that she would die at the hands of her classmates, even if it was an accident. I felt it interesting to see if I could change her outcome." Mina didn't hide much, and Sig nodded with a look of understanding.

"Then thanks, I was just curious on your attitude towards humans since you saved that one, but it seems the existence of your previous human self hasn't distorted your thinking to any self damaging levels." Hearing Sig mention her previous existence, Mina wasn't it the least flustered.

"A demon is a demon, the creation of said demon doesn't alter the demon itself. It's just that the success rate of that method is abysmally low though, it could be called a miracle you came into existence at all." Sig didn't say anything else and looked at Mina who stared back.

"You have a contractor, what do they want?" Mina asked cutting to the point. If Sig was allowed to go on, Mina felt they could talk about random things until next week without Sig ever getting to the point.

"Well, my contractor summoned me and started a business similar like private investigations and such, and with my abilities, it's quite easy as well." Sig looked at Mina and expected the other party to refuse immediately.

"Why?" This time, Mina was asking the question, and Sig didn't feel it necessary to hide anything. Although a demon's omniscience wouldn't work if another demon was involved, Sig didn't have a need to keep secrets.

"My contractor summoned me when her father was murdered and no one would do anything after it was ruled a suicide, so I helped her in exchange for becoming my contractor." Sig took out her phone and showed Mina herself and a woman standing together in the picture.

"She's cute." Mina nodded but Sig rolled her eyes and gave Mina a look that said 'try me'. Mina chuckled and watched as Sig scrolled through several pictures of the two of them with a smile.

"I hadn't told her I sensed another demon, and since you haven't made any particularly huge events, she might not even know of your existence for a while." Mina leaned against the long desk and gave Sig a look of confusion.

"You mean she'd still find out someday?" Mina wasn't sure whether Sig was being serious or not. In her mind, as long as she wished, she could move to the other side of the world.

"This world has a group of people who fancy themselves as exorcists. Typically, a demon who comes via possession may be less vulnerable to them as they can only be cast back out, but we who are summoned are different." Sig didn't continue but Mina's eyes narrowed as she nodded.

"They can banish us or bind us within something." Mina couldn't help her situation though, she came into existence in this world, she didn't have the option of choice.

"Yup. So do take care to clean up after yourself, and don't let too much word of yourself spread, those guys are like a bunch of vultures waiting for a meal." Sig shook her head at the strangeness of humans.

"Obviously they know they can't cause much harm to us, so they chose to seal us away so we can simply suffer in boredom until the seal breaks someday." Sig seemed quite dissatisfied, but Mina looked at her busy fingers and smiled.

Sig likes gaming, so being locked in a dark small place with nothing to do for long periods of time would seem distasteful to Sig, and it was the same concept for Mina, who hadn't existed for very long, and felt a sense of disdain for those so called exorcists.

"Well, I need to go back now, tell me if you're interested in coming over to work, it's nice to have some company sometimes, being around humans and pretending is a bit tiring." Sig said while standing, rubbing her shoulders and began logging off the computer.

"You didn't actually tell me what you do." Mina rolled her eyes and watched Sig's perpetually half dazed eyes show a look of mock anger.

"We do detective stuff for people who were like my contractor, denied by the majority and left to wallow on their helplessness, of course we aren't saints, we charge money for our services, but we also guarantee an acceptable conclusion."

"Do you really get clients? I feel you guys are a bi-"  Sig rushed over and smacked Mina on the head with her hand lightly, but her amused smile showed even she found it silly.

"Who made human beings in desperation good clients, I can harvest a wave of poin- cash! Do you know how expensive skins are in my games, I feel poorer just looking at the options." Sig seemed to look as if she had experienced abuse and torment, and Mina couldn't help but pat her head and laugh.

"Alright, I know the pain too. I'll give you a thousand dollars as a meeting gift." Mina didn't gift herself an absurd amount of money to begin with, but Sig looked as if she had seen her lord and savior.

"Thank you benevolent lord for your grace." Sig teased but accepted the funds none the less, not at all caring about anything aside from updating her current skins.

"Okay, bye bye." Sig waved as Mina stepped through the shadows, the car outside the café vanishing as well, and then the café went dark as Sig also stepped through the shadows and left quickly.

Mina lay on the hotel bed with a pensive look, the things Sig spoke of she also had to be cautious with, so she decided to gain information from Sig about everything else so she she wouldn't be caught by surprise.

"Well, I guess this bed is comfy enough." Xall'minnon lounged lazily and enjoyed the cool air hitting her bare skin, and began to doze off. Although Xall'minnon was not at all tired yet but because she was used to using sleep to pass the time in both games and Cole's life, similar to the gaming mechanic where it was done in games to aid passing the time so simply.

"Well, I'll deal with tomorrow's events tomorrow, for now I'll just relax and think about what I want, I have enough time for that, and if I want help, I can just ask Sig." Xall'minnon certainly couldn't unconditionally trust Sig, but Sig was indeed a demon who although was a genuine gamer, seemed to be quite knowledgeable about certain things.
