Douglas never went out without his bodyguard, Harold a level 6 mage  with an earth affinity  which resembled a mountain of muscle, some people said he was the bastard child of the patriarch, others an orphan adopted by the family because of his affinity with the earth magic

He was said to be the most loyal mage to Ugul and to the Heartofsteel family, he had a large two-handed sword that never left him, he was the commander of Ugul's security forces

rumors circulated that Harold could fight with level 7 mages proof of the importance of douglas within the heartofsteel family ( harold is the bodyguard of douglas )

Douglas immediately tried to recruit Alexander who was also interested in working as an alchemist, he would start with level 5 potions and then once the rank of grand master was reached, he would concoct potions of strength and vitality

if the other party wanted to provide him with ingredients to sharpen his skills he wouldn't say no

the control and purity of Alexander's mana was high so it was easy for him to create potions (he was 3 to 4 times more powerful than a level 6 mage) plus if he ever felt overwhelmed, he could always bring Germain back to ugul (Germain is a level 5 mage, level 5 master alchemist kidnapped by Alexander previously)

he would then use his invocations or other mages he trusted to search for the necessary ingredients for the creation of potions of strength and vitality
