"Wow, you're not very attractive when you sleep, drooling and all messy."

I start to groan and mumble,

"Mom, where's Mr. Truffles? I want him; he helps me stay still at night~"

"Mr... Truffles?"

I start to hear laughing, and my eyes pop open to realize its Elis.

"WHAT. THE. HELL. ARE YOU DOING IN MY ROOM?!"

She has a smirk.

"Well, I just asked your mom, and she let me in. Honestly, it was a little too easy."

"You're kidding?"

"Not one bit!"

I was worried why this random person was in my house to begin with. She began to speak.

"I just wanted to check on you since you seemed sick yesterday."

I thought it was weird for a second because I was feeling perfectly fine. Then I just brushed it off as if I were giving off the wrong vibe.

"Well, since you're here, can you tell me the time?"

"8:22"

"8:22?? We have 8 minutes to get to school! I'm so screwed!"

I start to rush and shove her out of my room.

"I need my space and get ready for school, so shoo!"

"Don't treat me like an animal!"

"Humans are animals too! Now out you go!"

I slam the door and continue getting ready. I hurry to school and see Forres waiting for me at the entrance.

"Where the hell were you yesterday? We were supposed to play video games and study together!"

"Holy shit, when you put it like that, it sounds like you had nothing else to do."

"Well, I cancelled all my plans yesterday for you."

"Damn, that's tough, isn't it?"

"Oh, shut up, now tell me where you went yesterday!"

"I was tangled up with Elis. She's weirder than she looks."

"I'm proud of you, man! You've really jumped up in the world of players!"

I sigh because of how silly that sounded.

"Please, leave the flattery for your girl."

"Just saying, also have you ever wanted to stop a train?"

"Why would I want to do that?"

"How the hell would I know? But if you ever wanted to apparently, according to this new game I'm playing, you can do it with love."

"Yea, I'll go try that next time I need to stop a train."

"I know, right, it sounds so exciting!"

I never knew one person could be so excited, overtrains and love.

The bell finally rings after that weird conversation ends. I get to class, and she's not there like I expected anything to happen, too bad I wasn't prepared for what happened later after school.

After another boring day of school, I was getting ready to go home but decided to go buy a book to read. I looked all around the bookstore but couldn't find anything of interest. By the time I went back outside, it was dark.

"Shit, I better hurry home."

As I was walking back home, I heard a man screaming out.

"Get back here, you thief!"

I see a shadowy figure bouncing around, and it flashed by my face with a bag of catnip. After a little more processing, it was Elis. Of fucking course, the only other person that tries to talk to me must be weird.

I continue walking back home, acting like I didn't see anything. When I get back home, I pass out without realizing it in my bed.

I look at her. She has that smirk that I loathed. She opens her mouth and screams.

"WHO DO YOU CHOOSE?"

I jump out to see that no one is there. Two weeks later, Elis still isn't around. I start to get worried that I was going insane. I looked around for Elis at school that day. She's nowhere to be seen. I start to question if last night was real. Or even if she was real, to begin with. Maybe that car crash messed with my head. Someone taps me on the back.

"Why the glum face?"

"I'm looking for someone."

"Who?"

"This girl named-"

I look behind me to see her with her gray fluffy ears and a smirk on her face.

"Yo Pierre, how's it hanging?"

I get frustrated with her for a second because I was so worried that something happened to her after all those weeks, but then I took a second look at her ears.

"Can I touch them?"

"Sure!"

My hand moved and touched the fluffy ears, and all my troubles went away. I miss this feeling. This bliss.

"So, why are you looking for me?"

Realizing what's happening, I stop touching her fluffy ears and go back to worrying.

"Where the hell have you been!"

"Duh, I was at a concert...?"

"We have school, did you forget about that?"

"Of course not! It's not like anything important happened today, I'm doing pretty well, so it doesn't matter anyway."

I sigh.

"Well, whose concert did you go to see?"

"Huh? Go to see a concert? No, I was in the concert."

"Oh, right, you did tell me that you do music."

She has that smirk on her face. And winked.

"You should come join me sometime if you like that type of stuff! I can even get you a VIP pass."

"Of all the people you could've invited, you chose the one who yells at you?"

She starts to frown a bit.

"Well... yeah, no one else is really that honest with me."

I felt kind of bad for saying that because I think she's saying that she's lonely. I know how loneliness must feel. Having a cat for a friend is lonely, I know from experience.

"I'm leaving now."

"Welp, it was nice to talk to you! See you whenever~"

I sigh and walk away.

This chapter was on the shorter side. That's all I have to say. Lol. Anyway, if you want this or any of the other series I'm uploading  to come back favorite (apparently that's the right term) and comment, and I'll consider it!
