Chapter 2

Gloomy: just so we are clear this is my first time writing a story so I am super open to suggestions and I will be trying to stay relatively faithful to the characters as portrayed in the light novels (currently on the 5th volume would appreciate no spoilers) anyway just wanted to say dialogue WILL seem awkward at times and I would appreciate any advice

As I stand frozen in this alleyway looking at the “person” lying limply on the ground in front of me I cannot help but wonder “What the hell just happened??” Replaying the events in my head I cannot help but wonder if I am simply forgetting a major detail about this world I have been dropped in

However, I recalled a detail I thought I could push back for later could this stretched-out monstrosity in front of me be caused by the power I received from the system? I couldn’t help but panic what in the world could I ever need such strange abilities for? Let alone one I cannot even control let alone comprehend how this even works what could make a simple touch stretch the human body so violently

His mouth hung loose in a scream of agony yet no sound could be heard, one eye stretched to impossible lengths whilst the other shrunken to a disturbingly degree

All I could think of while looking at this horrific display of my creation was what the consequences would be what would happen to me if someone else could hold witness to the eyes of this man who looked as if his soul itself was ripped from its confines with trembling hands I reached out in my mind it took forever I could only focus on the sounds of my heartbeat hoping to block out the rest of the world so I could focus on my power

“If I did do this I could fix it right?” I subconsciously muttered under my breath once my hand reached his chest I felt the beating of a heart he was still alive however taking a glance up at his eyes showed no spark of life as empty as the last time I'd looked at them I quickly looked back down at my hand on his chest what could I do

I closed my eyes and focused on how he looked when I first saw him though when I opened my eyes he looked the same should I just give up take his money and leave?

Thoughts of giving up plagued my mind getting his wallet or any other valuables on him and simply leaving what would it matter now that I had calmed down and taken a glance around there were no cameras or windows on the two buildings that made up this ally

So I did it I took out his wallet from the pocket of his jeans and stole the money he had in his wallet which just so happened to be 5,000¥ while looking at his ID I also figured out I can't read Japanese so I'm screwed big timed 

Sadly my “victim” didn't have a watch or phone on him I doubt I could have been able to tell the date however the most interesting thing happened whilst I was trying to drag his body behind the dumpster I was struggling immensely as I was wishing he weighed less or at least was smaller I saw or perhaps a better word would be sense for the sensation I felt it was like instead of a man his whole body was playdough

So I took that playdough and compressed it into a smaller shape after that it was far easier to move the body to a more secluded location I doubt anyone would suspect a ball of flesh the size of a softball to be a human though it would be suspicious, especially with how heavy it is

Now I am about my merry way after dumping his clothes in the garbage the city I am in is pretty nice I haven’t a clue where I am I tried talking to someone maybe the system gave me the ability to speak all languages but not read I naively thought however I was completely wrong I understood absolutely nothing

“Can I purchase an understanding of Japanese?” 

[yes understanding Japanese costs 150 VP]

“What could I buy with 0.5 VP?” I ask hoping for at least something a little bit useful

[The cheapest item listed in the shop is a potion of recovery (basic) for 15 VP] 

I gave up utterly defeated killing someone gave me a mere 0.5 VP which meant I would need to kill 30 people for something I had no use for the only thing I could do was wonder the city aimlessly on my journey I found a market where I bought some food that would be easy to carry around and eat

Eventually, I found a forest a little bit out of town the sun was starting to set and I decided to start training my power here
