In the cold and icy skies of Niflheim, a castle, or perhaps we should call it a base, floated at the highest altitude. It remained hidden from all players, protected by multiple layers of natural obstacles, traps, and illusions, as well as an additional layer of rings encapsulating it.

The shining crystalline castle of Valhalla, connected to the four bases, radiated its usual brilliance. Two crystalline gates led into the castle, illuminating its bright and enchantingly beautiful interior. Two massive rings surrounded it, rotating with a subtle purple glow, while an amethyst star gently gleamed at the center of the topmost part of the base, providing it with an unnecessary yet usable energy source.

To enter the castle of Valhalla, one could only do so by destroying the other four bases, as you probably already know. A lengthy road-like structure was attached to the castle gates, connecting it with the circular platform. This served as the primary entrance for guild members. However, given that the guild consisted of only three members, each had items that allowed them to move freely and instantaneously throughout the base, making the long road obsolete for their purposes.

The Castle of Valhalla was an exceedingly vast base with numerous rooms and areas. It even contained a space that resembled a biome, though Lucian referred to it as a garden due to its exquisite beauty and small size. This garden was none other than the former battleground of Valhalla itself, where Lucian had once fought and defeated the boss Odin's first avatar. What was once a place filled with swords and the blood of fallen warriors and Valkyries had transformed into a breathtaking garden adorned with a sword grave. Here, the weapons and arms of the deceased warriors and Valkyries were arranged in a beautiful display, complemented by new swords meticulously designed and customized by Lucian himself. These weapons were not just for show; they were all functional, varying in power from top-class to legendary, and a select few even being Divine-Class.

This location also served as the repository for one of Lucian's [Owned] World Items. These unique World Items were different from ordinary World Items that could be used by anyone lucky enough to acquire them; [Owned] World Items were bound exclusively to the first person who discovered them or met highly specific conditions.

These weapons and items were bound to Lucian, allowing him to summon and utilize them at will, with exclusive access denied to anyone else. Therefore, it was only natural that he chose Valhalla as the perfect home for such a World-class weapon.

Lucian had also personally designed a lake for this place, situated adjacent to the sword grave. Overseeing the entirety of Valhalla was an NPC named; Artoria Pendragon Alter, a beautiful woman with white-blonde hair, clad in jet-black full-body armor. Her eyes mirrored the color of her hair, and when not donning her divine-class gear, she often wore a gothic dress that afforded her mobility, which was a legendary-class piece of equipment in its own right.

« The area guardian of Valhalla and the guardian of the world item [Excalibur], Artoria is a prospective king devoid of moral compass. Her loyalty burns fiercely, but it's matched by her insatiable desire for battle against powerful opponents. Alter firmly believes that a hero's duty is to be despised and shunned, viewing it as their sole responsibility to employ their full might to eliminate foes in service of their master. She sees this as the inevitable outcome when she drew her sword for her master and came into existence, leading her to entrust her blade to "All the World's Evil" — encompassing everything opposed to her master's interests.

While she takes her role as a tyrant king, responsible for her Valkyries and servants, quite seriously, she has forsaken the ideals she once held for herself and her people. Her people, in this context, refer to her loyal Valkyries who serve under her.

She is an unrelenting, merciless lady who derives satisfaction from inflicting pain and misery upon her enemies and those who oppose her master. She revels in engaging in battles with various individuals from the guild and actively participates in the monthly Tournament of Guardians, using it as an opportunity to assert her dominance and display her strength to the denizens of Vice Requiem. Her affection for her master borders on insanity, exacerbated by her corrupted personality, leading her love to take on increasingly twisted forms. »

Artoria, alongside some other spectral Valkyries, dutifully protected Valhalla, guarding not only the sword grave but also the powerful world item [Excalibur], even though it scarcely required such protection. [Excalibur] was one of the most powerful attack-enhancing World Items, second only to [Longinus] and [World Saviour].[Longinus] had the ability to deliver an instant kill from the very essence of reality and time, while [World Saviour] could amplify its power limitlessly until an attack failed or missed.

Indeed, [Excalibur] surpassed [World Saviour], which was capable of accumulating infinite attack power. However, [Excalibur]'s true potential remained mostly unrealized, restricted to its first and second seals. In total, Excalibur had a total of 13 seals, and unlocking them required meeting cryptic conditions, much like Lucian's Valkyrae Forms. These conditions were never disclosed, rendering it nearly impossible to unlock all the seals. It was rumored that at its full potential, [Excalibur] could obliterate other world items and shatter the very foundations of the game. Yet, for the time being, it functioned primarily as a powerful single-target weapon. (No, Excalibur is not related to Valkyraes. And it's also not as strong, though it might be the strongest World Item...who knows..)

Moving on to other significant areas, there was the Aeternus Challenge Arena, inhabited by the majority of the mob Valkyries, a few Custom NPCs, and overseen by the area guardian, Malenia, the Blade of Aeternus, along with her sister. They were the only Trump card of castle of Valhalla. Lucian hadn't formulated concrete plans for the arena, deeming it unnecessary. If any players possessed the ability to conquer all four bases, they might assume they could conquer the Castle of Valhalla as well. However, as long as Lucian remained logged into the game, defeating the guild was a near-impossible task. Only he had the capability to defeat and conquer the base, and even if he were an enemy player, he could potentially solo clear it, albeit with some time and effort. Given his status as the owner and Guild Master, there was virtually no chance of anyone conquering it. (Malenias status will be in the aux later.)

Now, moving on, one of the most important places in the Castle of Valhalla was the Astral Codex Library. This was where NPC data, along with a plethora of data for other NPCs, items, effects, and various other things, were stored. In fact, this place ranked among the largest within the entire castle, filled to the brim with information. The area was not only beautifully designed to be a mind-blowing spectacle, complete with moving stairs and more, but it also possessed a magical element of transparency, with invisible bookshelfs and walls.

This place was diligently guarded and protected by Meteora Osterreich, an NPC mage who had a deep love for books and an unrelenting desire to uncover the secrets of everything around her.

She had blue eyes and gray hair with bangs that reached just above her eyes. Her outfit consisted of three garments: a green mantle with a large hood adorned with gold highlights at the edges. Below the green mantle was a blue garment with a collar slightly narrower than that of the green mantle, also adorned with yellow highlights. The lower half featured two intersecting yellow half circles. She wore a belt, its end hanging down her right hip. Underneath the blue garment was a purple robe that sat just above her feet, with a strip of white fur running around its hem. She also wore brown gloves and brown boots.

« Meteora serves as the area Guardian of the primary library in Vice Requiem, where her responsibilities include managing and curating the vast volumes of data within. She plays a crucial role in both dispensing and acquiring new data for the library. Meteora embodies intellectual prowess, maintaining a reserved and stoic demeanor. Her speech is characterized by a deliberate, monotonous, and dry tone, yet she makes an effort to inject emotion, often attempting humor through puns to uplift others, albeit with a track record of exceptionally bad puns. Beyond her scholarly interests, Meteora reveals a fondness for indulging in fine cuisine, making her a bit of a Glutton.

Meteora's intellect is very high, allowing her to adapt seamlessly to new environments and to provide logical and magical explanations for most events that unfold. However, her near-emotionless design limits her expression of feelings. Despite this, she holds an unwavering devotion to the guild leader, mirroring the deep loyalty of her creator. »

Continuing on, the guild's Treasury was a sight to behold, almost overflowing with riches. In fact, it was a tad too full for comfort. Positioned directly behind the Throne room, the sole passage to reach it required one traversing through the Throne room.

Guarding this Treasury was a female Hydra NPC, a powerful NPC despite being level 80, rather than a level 100 guardian. Her worth lay not in brute strength but in other vital capacities.

At this moment, Lucian strolled down a vast corridor known as the Hall of the Slain, where statues of Valkyries graced each corner. These Valkyries also served as a protective measure, springing to action when enemy players initiated an attack.

Presently, Lucian made his way across the golden and white-floored hallway, accompanied by Mei Mei, who held his hand and excitedly led him forward, her enthusiasm was visible.

"Why are you so excited, Mei Mei? What do you want to show me?" Lucian inquired aloud. Mei Mei had requested he log into Yggdrasil the moment he woke up, and then guided him to the Throne Room. In his groggy state, he had followed her instructions, but now, fully awake within the game, curiosity compelled him to ask the question.

"Just wait for it. I've invested a lot of time creating it," Mei Mei replied. If her avatar could express emotions, she would be wearing a smile, a rarity that only seemed to occur when she was with Lucian.

"Alright, I'll wait," Lucian acquiesced, taking her hand. With a wave of his hand, they teleported directly in front of the Throne Room.

Mei Mei's demeanor shifted to slight frustration. "Why did you do that? I wanted to build anticipation for the reveal!"

Lucian explained, "The Hall of the Slain is 500 meters long. If we walked at a regular pace, it would take us more than a few minutes to reach the room." He withdrew his hand from Mei Mei's grasp, directing his attention to the towering gates adorned with engravings of a Valkyrie and a mighty warrior—Lucian himself. The other figure was the Valkyrie goddess, a design carefully aligned with the lore.

With a slight touch from Mei Mei, the golden gate shone and swung open.

"Go ahead," she urged Lucian, pushing the doors inward. Unlike standard Throne Rooms, which were simply customized, the Throne Room of Aesir was constructed entirely from Lunarite, Limithril, Solarit, and Astral Gold, some of the most precious metals within the game.

This Throne Room deviated from the norm, eschewing the typical long path leading to a massive throne. Instead, a lengthy pathway lined with Valkyries, each with unique attributes, led to a grand circular platform. (Eschewing means: To avoid something intentionally. Even I didn't knew that word, but when I was searching synonyms I discovered it.)

The circular platform was crafted from Aquaferrium, Luminarite, and Mastramgold, primarily chosen for their aesthetic appeal, as anyone reaching this place was either wholly dead or non-existent. Nevertheless, these metals served a crucial role as powerful catalysts for the magic circle engraved into the circular platform.

Surrounding the platform's edges were 13 golden pillars adorned with intricate patterns. Each pillar depicted a Valkyrae element of Lucian, although only five of them appeared distinct, while the rest bore a colorless white and gold palette, signifying that Lucian had unlocked only five of his Valkyraes. These pillars seemingly provided support for the entire Throne Room.

Upon entering the room, visitors would discover nine exquisite thrones arranged in a circular fashion, creating a circle. One throne stood apart, situated in the far central corner of the circular platform, elevated above the others and notably larger. This particular throne differed significantly, adorned with intricate details and carvings.

Eight of the thrones were smaller in size compared to the one at the center, which occupied the forefront of this grand hall. All of them gleamed with a rich golden hue and featured intricate designs, each throne graced by a central gem. However, at the very heart of the room stood the most immense and exquisitely adorned throne. This central throne had a stunning blend of gold and blue detailing, intricate white patterns emanating from it, forming an appearance akin to a blooming flower.

The floor was adorned with a purple magic circle, casting a gentle, purplish glow that extended from the magic circle through all the thrones before culminating at the central throne. This radiance bathed the entire Throne Room.

Seated upon each of these smaller eight thrones was a personal NPC of Lucian.

Seated on the foremost right next to the main throne was Shiraori, attired in her customary white garb. Her eyes remained perpetually closed, and her posture appeared typically relaxed and leisurely.

On the foremost left resided a remarkably beautiful NPC. She possessed long, flowing red hair and striking golden eyes. Her body was clad in full-body armor in hues of crimson, gold, and black. Her golden eyes betrayed no emotion, resembling lifeless orbs, as she sat with a somewhat stern countenance. A black hairpin adorned her hair, a detail that held significance in her character's appearance.

Seated beside Lilith Aeternus was a doll-like, short-statured girl of exceptional beauty. Her long, straight black hair cascaded down to her hips, framing her delicate features. Her thin eyebrows and dark black eyes enhanced her enchanting appearance. She wore a long-sleeved, short black kimono adorned with intricate golden swirling patterns, paired with white thigh-high stockings. Red threads neatly tied her hair, imparting a pleasing Japanese aesthetic to her overall look.

Her hair was tied in an uneven, long ponytail, and her striking monochromatic eyes portrayed a clock sign. Her right eye had a red tint, while her left eye resembled a golden, inorganic clock face.

Seated beside Kurumi, the final NPC in this row was equally breathtaking, possessing exquisitely pale white skin and long silver hair that cascaded down gracefully. Her crimson eyes, resembling pools of rich blood, added more depth to her beauty. She donned a noble ensemble that harmoniously echoed wirh the color of her hair, complemented by a flowing purple cape adorning her back. A delicate, maid-like headband graced her head as the cherry on top.
