The Goddess of Autumn (1.2)

The Weaver Girl snapped back to reality and expressed her resentment, "I really want to kill him."

I sighed and said, "Have you forgotten? He's already dead and who knows how many times he has been reincarnated already."

"Then I'll make sure to abolish his soul so that he can never reincarnate again!"

"Those are the King of Hell's business, we can't interfere. You still have a long life ahead of you, so don't let anger get better of you. You don't want to pass away early, do you?"

I sat down beside her and continued, "Today, I saw Little Seven going down to the mortal realm to find her Dong Yong. This man, Dong Yong has been reincarnated several times and in every lifetime, Little Seven will always go down to find him and get to know him all over again. Unlike you, she doesn't harbour resentment towards Dong Yong at all. Instead, she cares for him every day. I feel tired just by looking at her actions."

"That's because Little Seven is foolish. The Jade Emperor had already said that he could lend a helping hand to Dong Yong. If only Dong Yong was hardworking, he could also be an immortal. In the end, he is too selfish," the Weaver Girl said.

"It's quite silly. The reincarnated Dong Yong is no longer the Dong Yong she knew in the past. The past they had together is over. What is done cannot be undone anymore. It's irreversible."

I looked at the Weaver Girl, hoping that she could move on and find her way out of the dark past. The Weaver Girl fell silent, it seemed she had understood, and it wasn't in vain for me to try to persuade her.

"Is my cloud-patterned brocade robe ready? I especially prefer the clothes you make, you know?" I smiled and patted her arm.

"I'll go get it for you," she replied and stood up to fetch the robe.

Once, the Weaver Girl descended to the mortal realm and accidentally had her celestial robe stolen by the Cowherd. Losing her powers, she was forced to become the Cowherd's wife, enduring three years of life as an ordinary mortal before returning to the Heavenly Court. Upon her return, even her sleep was disturbed by nightmares. After that, she never ventured to the mortal realm again.

The world only knows that the Cowherd stole the Weaver Girl's garments and had a relationship with her, but never cared whether the Weaver Girl was willing to do it or not.

It was autumn in the mortal world, I had nothing else to do, so I decided to stroll around in the mortal world while checking the changes in there and fulfilling my duties as the Goddess of Autumn.

In the mortal realm, standing beneath a large maple tree, I inquired about mortal affairs from the tree spirit.

"Do you also enjoy the sight of these fiery red maple leaves?" A voice appeared near me.

A mortal man adorned in luxurious brocade approached me. He should be quite rich in this mortal realm.

Standing in front of me, his eyes were full of astonishment. "………………As radiant as the rising sun, vibrant as a lotus emerging from the green waves, Your beauty is truly that of a heavenly goddess gracing the mortal realm....."

Although I don't know much about those mundane love poems, I know that he was praising my looks. Mortals who encounter me often praise my appearance; in truth, every celestial fairy in the heavens possesses exquisite features. Yet, I find Winter the most beautiful.

I ignored the mortal, continued on my way, but the mortal blocked my path. He put on what he thought was a gentle smile and said, "I also find these maple leaves extremely beautiful. I'd like to invite the lady to appreciate them together. Would you care to join me for a walk?"

"No. "I stepped aside and walked away from him.

"Check the background of that girl," the man instructed his servant as soon as I left.

They thought I had gone far enough not to be able hear what they're saying, but I'm not a mortal. I heard their conversation clearly.

How foolish, a mortal thinking he could investigate my background. I sneered and headed towards the temple of the Goddess of Autumn.

It was indeed desolate! Seeing the cobwebs in the temple corners and the shriveled apples on the offering plate, I couldn't help but sigh. I didn't want to stay in my temple. There were a lot of people worshipping in Spring's temple, so there would also be a lot of fruits and pastries adorned the incense table there. I might as well stay there during my time here in the mortal realm.

After spending a few days in Spring's temple, someone unexpectedly came to the Temple of the Goddess of Autumn to offer incense.
