I came to a stop at the edge of the horde and looked back, before deciding to feast on the points.
'It's not like they can get through my defense anyway, but if I can evolve, I bet other things can to, so why not make myself the strongest?'
I sent my proboscis through the head of a zombie, and whipped another zombie in half with my tail.
'Apparently I can gain points by killing, and my evolution also goes up as well, guess I don't really need to eat, aside from keeping myself in peak condition.'
I rolled to the side and dodged as Rachel pushed a zombie down and then jumped away when it attempted to retaliate.
'You do realize it can't hurt you right? Why are you so skittish?' I asked while spitting acid at another zombie.
Then I instantly regretted it, the body started to melt, and then bones and steaming flesh fell to the ground, and the worst part? The zombie still tried to crawl over to me, even as a puddle!
I snorted, making a soft clicking sound and then counted the remaining zombies and then decide to retreat, the zombie count was still growing no matter how much I killed, and Rachel was a bit faint hearted as she didn't kill the zombies, she just knocked them over, and though they did get back up, it took a while.
I looked at my points and grinned, or tried to, as I saw Rachel shiver when she looked at my grin, but anyways...
I gained quite the sum of points, and then looked for a place where I could increase my stats without getting interrupted.

'Eh come to think of it, I don't have a name, maybe I should get one.' I thought back to the princess randomly and then shook my head whilst smiling at her innocence.
'We need a place to settle down in, so we can hunt and evolve quicker, I don't want to fall behind anyone.'
'Um, we can go to the city's survivor base and see if there are any buildings they aren't using, but I don't know if they'd let us.'
'Hmm, we don't need their approval, let's go, the city is a better place to fight given my species than the woods.' I flicked my proboscis out and smelled the air, then took of running, Rachel keeping pace as we headed into the city.
Though the apocalypse was in full swing, the buildings were still intact, though zombies did seem to be everywhere, but I was silent as a ghost, and Rachel tried, I put emphasis on tried, to be silent.
I came to a stop in front of a gas station, and looked over at Rachel.
'You wanted to eat right? There's food inside, we'll rest here for now.'
I pushed open the door and watched as she joyfully pranced in and skipped to the meat aisle and started gorging herself on meat, plastic and all.
Smiling, I shut the door and looked around, wondering if the princess was still alright.
Halp, I need a good book to read, any recommendations?
Azeriath healer gets my full recommendation. Returnee as well, before you confuse returnee for returner, returnee is much better. Magnus of the warlock era is a rollercoster ride, erm coiling dragon is quite good, and desolate era is excellent, also a roller coaster ride. And thats it for all time good binging stuff, I have more if you like. The list goes on young traveller, mwhahaha.
Some of the novels you recommended have shitty rushed endings. I won't say which ones.. Although they have a good story from start to middle.. Anyone who chooses to read those novels will definitely regret it cuz of the rushed and shitty ending.
Read at your own risk.
@Vyrphax At least they have endings (excluding Azeriath hunter which is ongoing), and are decently good even if they are rushed. Plus the points where they are completwd the plot has 99.9% been completed, coiling dragon has an annoying end but is still good. Also other than the first one, and Returnee the rest have at least 1000 chapters. So lots of stuff to read when you are bored. The author could also read Chrysalis which is ongoing or trees of Aeon.
@DcDragon what I said created a misunderstanding. I apologize. I was not criticizing your choice of novels but the novels themselves. Wouldn't it be a pain in the ass if someone invested time and effort on reading something good at first, only to get an unsatisfying and rushed ending? That would be such a drag. Anyone would feel disappointed in that situation, especially if they paid for it.
@DcDragon But if someone doesn't have anything better to do and just wants to waste time. They can knock themselves out.
@Vyrphax I was reading the devils evolution catalog and it doesn't even end, they dropped it!
@sazalfur that's why we have to be careful on choosing novels.
Well on my personal opinion reading finished novels will save you time
@sazalfur By the way. I really like your novel. It's just rough around the edges but that's understandable. It's really good and unique though. Keep up the good work.
@Vyrphax it gets crazy down the line, be prepared for it. ?
@sazalfur I've seen crazy but I'll humour you.
@sazalfur If you really want crazy. Add some lovecraftian monsters. Look it up.
@sazalfur Really, I got to chapter a hundred of DEC and was gonna get back to it but now you tell me they have dropped it...
@DcDragon I know it's sad, but persevere!
I shall seal the heavens
@sazalfur A Korean novel I recommend is Everyone Else is a Returnee or EER for short it is really entertaining, funny with it's great sense of comedy, and has a nice ending
@sazalfur good work I like Mc showing h7manaty
@Rexsaur I remember that one I was reading it when it first started getting translated and I was so excited not to have to mtl it myself
@Arielus I read it when it was being translated as well. The only thing better than the story are the people like the donation God and the translators who matched the absurd donation chapters up to the very end, also some comments are absolutely funny and deserves at least a skim per chapter to find the gems
@Rexsaur I know sometimes just having a amazing translator can make a OK story something into a joy to read
