Chapter 42 Radiant Plan

It was a few days after the meeting and in the evening when Sunlight got a communication from Radiant Firelight.

(“What do you want?”) {Sunlight}

(“I have good news. Refulgence has agreed to meet with you.”) {Radiant Firelight}

(“What!?”) {Sunlight}

(“I talked with him and he agreed to meet with you. The only problem is that it has to be early tomorrow morning. He is busy otherwise.”) {Radiant Firelight}

(“I will be there as soon as I can.”) {Sunlight}

(“See you then.”) {Radiant Firelight}

After the connection was broken, Sunlight pulled out another jade.

(“Sunlight?”) {Starlight}

(“Starlight, how far are you from the sect?”) {Sunlight}

(“What is this about?”) {Starlight}

(“Firelight called me to talk with Refulgence, but that would leave only Daylight around. Purelight is close by with Forest Fire, but everyone else is off doing something else.”) {Sunlight}

(“I will be there as soon as I can, probably around middle of the night. But are you going to look around Radiant Manor for proof?”) {Starlight}

“…”                                                                                 

(“Sunlight, we talked about this.”) {Starlight}

(“I know. It is just, I cannot believe that Firelight would push Refulgence to do it.”) {Sunlight}

(“I do not want to believe it either, but considering he allowed the so called ‘oils’ he truly did not have Tor, Felix’s best interest at heart. Or had a sick way of doing it.”) {Starlight}

“…”

(“If I can look around, I will.”) {Sunlight}

(“I know this is hard on you. But once you get proof, we can put an end to his cruelty.”) {Starlight}

(“Thank you, and once again please thank Mercury on my behalf.”) {Sunlight}

(“One more thing. Be careful around Firelight. Do not let your guard down.”) {Starlight}

(“What?”) {Sunlight}

(“Something about him lately did not sit right with me. In the meetings, he was completely opposed to peace in any way. Like he did not even consider it at all and just needed to go against it. I hope it is nothing.”) {Starlight}

(“I understand what you mean. I will be careful.”) {Sunlight}

(“Good.”) {Starlight}

Sunlight quickly made his way to Radiant Fire Island. It was near the meeting time when he arrived at Radiant Manor. Radiant Firelight greeted him at the front door.

“Grand Elder Sunlight, thank you for coming.” {Radiant Firelight}

“I am not here for you. Where is Refulgence?” {Sunlight}

“Of course, follow me.” {Radiant Firelight}

Sunlight followed Radiant Firelight into the manor and through the hallways.

“Why are there no attendants around? Last time I was here, you had too many to count.” {Sunlight}

“I simply figured that it might get loud when you two meet. I do not hope for that, but made sure to send everyone away, just to be safe.” {Radiant Firelight}

“How thoughtful of you.” {Sunlight}

“We are here.” {Radiant Firelight}

Radiant Firelight lead Sunlight to a large double door.

“Are you ready?” {Radiant Firelight}

Sunlight took a deep breath in and out.

“Yes.” {Sunlight}

Radiant Firelight knocked on the doors before opening them. The room was beautifully furnished with two chairs around table, but Sunlight only saw Refulgence standing in front of one of the chairs. Refulgence’s hair had grown out and he had it combed back. He was now clean shaven and was wearing a nice clean luxurious robe. He had a smile on his face, but his eyes still spoke of hatred.

“Father, thank you for bring Grand Elder Sunlight here.” {Refulgence}

“I will leave you two alone.” {Radiant Firelight}

Radiant Firelight closed the doors and left Sunlight and Refulgence alone.

“Grand Elder Sunlight, please take your seat.” {Refulgence}

Refulgence started pouring some already prepared tea, while Sunlight walked to his seat.

“You… You are still not calling me ‘Father’?” {Sunlight}

“…”

“You were perfectly clear about that.” {Refulgence}

Refulgence took a sip of his tea.

“I know… I know… I am sorry.” {Sunlight}

“Sorry is not going to simply make it all go away!” {Refulgence}

“I know. I was wrong. I was wrong about everything. I wanted what I thought was best for you.” {Sunlight}

“Well, in a way, you did. Look at me now!” {Refulgence}

“I know. Congratulations on reaching Nascent Soul. I want to make it better. I want to be in your life still.” {Sunlight}

Refulgence looked down at the cup of tea that Sunlight did not touch at all.

“You can start by at least start by drinking the tea I made. That is unless you do not trust me.” {Refulgence}

Sunlight picked up the cup.

“No. Of course I trust you.” {Sunlight}

Sunlight took large sip before quickly throwing the cup to the wall, while falling to the ground. The tried to use is Aura and divine sense to remove the poison while Refulgence stood up and walked to him.

“Don’t bother, it was made for you after all. With love and care.” {Refulgence}

Sunlight choked out his words.

“Re…ful…” {Sunlight}

“Shut up and make this easy.” {Refulgence}

Refulgence kicked Sunlight in the chest while he did so, he pulled out a clear liquid filled like sphere.

(“Refulgence! Don’t do this!”) {Sunlight}

Refulgence got down and put his face near Sunlight’s.

“I said shut up, Father.” {Refulgence}

(“Refulgence! Listen to me! Firelight is”) {Sunlight}

Refulgence bit into Sunlight’s neck with his fangs. The blood traveled through Refulgence’s body and into the orb.

(“You are making a mistake! You… You… are… in….. dan……….”) {Sunlight}

Refulgence pulled back and stood up. He looked at Sunlight’s dried husk of a body that was slowly turning to dust. He had no remorse on his face, only a wide grin. He opened the door to the room and let Radiant Firelight in.

“Refulgence… you forgot to take his storage ring.” {Radiant Firelight}

“Oh, sorry. It will not happen next time!” {Refulgence}

“Son, you do not need to worry. You will learn with time.” {Radiant Firelight}

Radiant Firelight picked up and looked throw the ring, before putting it onto his robes.

“The Blood Orb?” {Radiant Firelight}

Refulgence handed over the orb containing Sunlight’s blood and Aura. Radiant Firelight put it into his main storage ring.

“Good. Do you remember the plan?” {Radiant Firelight}

“Yes. We will meet up at ‘that’ mountain range, while everyone else is distracted with the Monster ‘Attacks’.” {Refulgence}

Radiant Firelight and Refulgence changed out of their normal clothes and into servant cloths, making sure to hide their Cultivations, before leaving the mansion at sperate times. Refulgence went first and used the Teleporter Formation to head towards the Sacred Light Sect. Radiant Firelight left soon after and headed to Dazzling Wood, where he would then head to the Sacred Light Sect. This would make them less obvious because storage rings make it to where simple travel missions only need one person most of the time.

After Radiant Firelight made it to Dazzling Wood, the Formation he had set up to mimic a Light Bird attack activated and blew up the Radiant Manor. It was around mid-morning when it happened. While everyone around it was trying to figure out what was going on. Radiant Firelight was waiting to use the next Formation.

“It should have activated by now. Soon. Soon Ancestor will be awakened. Then Grand Darkness, that traitor, can be punished. I hope Ancestor is not too mad at me. He has not spoken to me for so long. No! I have done everything right! Nothing can stop my great plan, and the revival of Ancestor!” {Radiant Firelight}

Radiant Firelight had gotten onto the Formation and it started to light up. Then the world shook and creation moaned. The Formation stopped and caused bits of it to explode. Radiant Firelight was unprepared and was sent flying. He was most uninjured from the explosion but his body felt awful and he almost threw up. Many others around him did not look good either and many fell to the ground.

“What?” {Radiant Firelight}

Radiant Firelight felt whatever it was end. He tried to stand up while using his divine sense but fell to the ground with a massive headache. He stopped using his divine sense and stood up. After standing for a few moments gaining his bearings, he remembered what he was here for. He ran to the Formations and realized that they were all damaged.

“No! I need to get to Ancestor!” {Radiant Firelight}

Radiant Firelight ran outside and tried to fly but just jumped up and landed on his face. He slammed his fist into the ground.

“No. No. No! HOW COULD THIS HAVE HAPPENED!?” {Radiant Firelight}

Soon before the event happened, the two people who tracked the Lawless to the World were lead to a meeting by a servant. A peacock lead them to a shallow pond. Where a woman with multicolored hair and in a multicolored sleeveless dress, was waiting for them in a gazebo overlooking the pond.

“Hello, love. Or should I call you ‘Inquisitor’ now.” {???}

“Julia, you know I would not come here without a good reason.” {Woman}

“Oh, of course I do. You want me to convince the others to use ‘that’ artifact. Don’t you.” {Julia}

“Please we have gone to everyone else and they all have all turned down our request.” {Woman}

“Of course, it is only to be used as a last resort. Besides, it would not be very helpful to your mission of capturing the Lawless. So why would you need it?” {Julia}

“Listen here!” {Man}

“Quite.” {Julia}

The man fell to his knees.

“I know why you want it. Everyone knows the rumors.” {Julia}

“As… As long as there is a chance! Then!” {Man}

“Good.” {Julia}

Julia let off the pressure on the man.

“But I still cannot help you.” {Julia}

“I… I understand.” {Woman}

“Sorry love. Maybe if ” {Julia}

Julia and the woman’s head shot to the side. The man looked on confused then felt it.

“Love… is that in the direction I think it is?” {Julia}

“Yes.” {Woman}

“Well then. I guess we will need to use it after all. I do hope I can find a good ‘bird’ there.” {Julia}
