In a time long past, a world named Alterra was once ruled by colossal and fearsome creatures known as dragons. Their dominion endured for a millennium, leaving nothing but scorched devastation in their wake. A reign of terror engulfed not only humanity but also all other species, compelling them to abandon the surface world and seek refuge deep underground, where, at the very least, they found safety from the monstrous behemoths lurking above.

Humanity's demise loomed on the horizon, an inescapable fate, until a celestial blessing graced them with a glimmer of hope. In the form of a woman named Vesryn, they witnessed the birth and upbringing of a sorceress of unparalleled power. Her mastery of magic dwarfed even the most accomplished magicians, kindling a renewed spark of optimism within the hearts of her fellow humans.

Vesryn, with unwavering determination, implored the king of mankind to confront the malevolent dragons, her resolve leaving no room for doubt. In a decisive moment, humanity plunged into a climactic war against the dragons, a confrontation that would determine the final chapter of their fate and open the gates to their long-awaited supremacy.

Vesryn, in a moment of extraordinary magic, sealed the mighty dragons' powers and transformed them into powerless, frail humanoid mortals, leaving them susceptible to the forces of mankind. In the blink of an eye, the dragons were overpowered, and the human empire ascended to become the dominant race, a reign that would last for countless centuries up to the present day.

This heroic feat, wrought by the world's most formidable sorceress, came to be known as the First Dragonoid War, etching its significance into the annals of history.

The dragons, now imprisoned within human bodies and referred to as dragonoids, found themselves subjugated by their human captors. Forced into grueling manual labor, they endured frequent abuse at the hands of their masters. Their existence had been reduced to that of expendable tools, a cruel fate that rendered them oppressed, akin to mere animals. They had become nothing but pitiable slaves, devoid of hope for their own salvation.

Their once-mighty red eyes, which once symbolized their dragon heritage and ancient power, now stood as stark reminders of their wretched existence, serving as emblems of their former glory, now lost to time and suffering.

Vesryn, in her unwavering belief, held firm to the conviction that not all dragons were innately malevolent, and that harmonious coexistence between humans and dragons was a conceivable reality. Despite her ardent pleas, the people, forever gripped by fear of the dragons, remained resolute in their skepticism.

Determined to make her vision a reality, Vesryn passed on her profound knowledge to a select group of ancient knights. She imparted to them the intricate wisdom of unlocking the latent potential within a dragonoid, achieved by orchestrating a mystical convergence of the heartbeats of a human and a dragon deeply connected to one another. In this transcendent bond, Vesryn found the potential for peaceful cohabitation.

This sacred union, aptly named the Vesryn Pulse, now stands as a beacon of hope and a testament to Vesryn's dream of a world where humans and dragons can live side by side in harmony.

Throughout the annals of history, the saga of mankind and dragons was one replete with a relentless cycle of warfare. For centuries, the four human empires—Alterra, Elysia, Sargus, and Fleija—had engaged in relentless battles, launching devastating offensives across the globe, all under the banner of the formidable Dragon Knights. Legends even spoke of a knight of unparalleled valor who managed to unify these disparate empires, wielding the enigmatic power of the Vesryn Pulse to forge an alliance between the races of humanity.

Growing weary of their oppressive enslavement at the hands of humans, the dragonoids, in an act of defiance, initiated a rebellion known as the Arcadia. This rebellion was under the charismatic leadership of the Dragon Knight Estoff Wraith, who championed the downtrodden dragonoids' cause and successfully enforced the Dragonoid Rights Law.

However, the path to freedom exacted a far greater cost than humanity had ever foreseen, as the consequences of these tumultuous events would forever reshape the course of their intertwined destinies.

For decades, humans and dragonoids coexisted in a remarkable era of harmony and tranquility. Yet, in the shadows of this period, the dragonoids were clandestinely amassing their strength, laying the groundwork for a resurgence, for they believed that the planet was rightfully their own, as it had been millennia ago. The time of human dominion had passed, and the dragons yearned to reclaim their planet.

A mysterious group, called the Six Dragon Lords, emerging like a phoenix from the long-forgotten scars of slavery and warfare, appeared on the scene. With the enigmatic eyes of a deity foreign to Alterra, they harnessed the dragonoids' power, commanding them to rise to dominance once more upon the planet.

In a mere span of seven days and seven nights, the once-mighty empire of Alterra crumbled, swept away by the dragonoids who now led a harrowing massacre of the human population. This horrific event etched into history has become known as the Purge of Humanity, marking a devastating chapter in the tumultuous history of Alterra.

As the human population dwindled to a mere thousands, the looming specter of extinction cast a long and despairing shadow over their fate. The survival of humanity itself teetered on the precipice of uncertainty. Yet, amidst the darkness, a slender ray of hope endured, a beacon for humanity's last stand.

This glimmer of hope was none other than the elusive and enigmatic Regression Magic. This extraordinary power held the potential to rewrite the errors of history, offering a chance for humanity to reclaim its legacy and set forth upon a new and heroic path.

In the presence of this power, a single individual would emerge as the harbinger of change, destined to correct the course of history's mistakes. A new legend, profound and full of promise, would unfurl, standing as humanity's final hope in the face of its impending demise.
