Ahhh, waking to the beautiful songs of birds, it just really brightens your morning doesn’t it? Then you realise that those beautiful melodic tweets and crows translate into ‘HEY LADIES!! WHO WANTS TO FUCK!!??’ On repeat with multiple different species going at once in a beautiful horny cacophony of chirps.

What made today's rising so weird was that it sounded like all the birds were screaming directly into my ear canal. Jolting up I felt awake and ready to kill some birds for breakfast.

It was the butt crack of dawn and I Love my sleep. I was like a Bear in winter with how long I slept, I think my record was 19 hours. Needless to say I didn’t like waking up, why would you when you could have amazingly vivid dreams about being a blacksmith conscripted in the wars between worlds. (^AN That was the dream I had last night, no joke^

Slowly the noises outside seemed to quiet but that was due to brains doing what brains do blocking out overstimulation. I don’t really know why they brain that way but it’s probably so we as living beings can focus on important stimuli like sudden noises, what you can see, sex, feeling nothing in your stomach. Speaking of which, my stomach is empty and I had to do something about it.

Realising that I actually had to be productive I started a mental list of what to do today and next week if I felt truly up for the challenge.

1: Find food, shouldn’t be a problem with my powerful Bear nose.

1 part 2; Get enough food to clear my optional mission objective. What? Come on they basically have the same end result, one was just harder than the other.

2: Explore my surroundings and make a mental map of the area around me.

3: Furnish my new home and hopefully complete my third objective.

That seems like enough and covers all my bases I think… hmmm what am I forgetting? What was it? Just on the tip of my tongue there was something else I had to do. I kept telling myself last night to remember it for tomorrow.

“Fuck it! I’ll just start my day, I’ll remember it later”

With those wise words I got up and headed out to hunt and hopefully gather.

Stepping out my front and only entrance I was greeted by the sun shining Directly into my eyes. Causing a guttural and mental reaction to shut my eyes as fast as possible and turn my head away from the light source. Opening my eyes again I now had a black dot in my vision, but that didn’t block out the ethereal sight of dew and mist carpeting the forest. Leaves glittered in a layer of water, grass dripped with moisture, causing drips to fall off the ends. Just like in all those movies and animes you see.

Breath taking I must say but I couldn’t spend hours gazing on the scene in front of me. I was on a mission to fill the void that is my stomach! In affirmation my stomach started to growl, I could practically hear it telling me that I was doing the right thing.

Standing up I stretched to my full height, feeling like heaven had bathed me with its presence cause I just felt guuud. No aches or weird spots along my back from sleeping on what was a cave floor. I guess being a Bear had some advantages.

Doing some stretches I realised I was more flexible in some ways now that I was a Bear then when I was a human. I could now stick my head between my legs and do some autofelatio or lick my butt like a cat. However I now couldn’t reach my back like some bodybuilders can’t. (Look it up, it is hilarious as fuck to watch them try remove tape from their back) I kind of knew that already cause every time I saw a Bear scratch their back it was always with a tree or rough surface not with their claws.

Taking some deep breaths I tried to smell for any animals around that I could eat. To my surprise I could smell some Deer nearby, honestly I could feel joy growing in the recesses of my mind. I could hopefully after my hunt finish task 1 and 1 part 2.

I know what you are thinking “isn’t task 1 part 2 about collecting enough food to last  a week” and I answer yes, but it specified that I had to eat enough for my continued survival, not that I had to collect enough food for my continued survival.

The reason I believed this is because the System stated I had to eat at least 20 to 30 kg of meat to last 4 days, so what if I ate more than that? What if I ate a 60+ kg Deer? Would it fulfil the objective?

I was technically eating the amount that I would need to survive that week and more. Also my Ability {Maximum Potential} stated that it would use all food eaten to its maximum limit so for one Deer I could last like 12 days. So eating an entire Deer in one sitting would fulfil this objective… Hopefully.

Following my nose I slowly headed toward the musky smell of Deer. I realise how weird it is to know what a Deer smells like. But I’ll tell you that anyone who grew up outdoors or has been around livestock and animals would recognise the smell of a medium to large sized prey animal.

Deer honestly smelt more like Impalas to me. I guess growing up in the Bush (^AN A term used to describe rural / untamed areas like nature reserves, said by Africans and Australians^) surrounded by animal skin everywhere in the camps really sticks with you.

Back to hunting where I was having the same issue as yesterday of being Absolutely massive and having to really get into the ninja mindset of dodging and weaving. I was amazing, moving exactly like I envisioned, dodging mostly everything in my way… wait a minute.

I’m so stupid!! The reason for my great coordination from yesterday and today was my {Mind Over Body} Ability. I found it slightly weird that I didn’t slip or trip once my entire journey but I didn't really feel anything amiss because it's passive AND active. I just used the Ability as an active and forgot about the passive that it literally told me about!!

Shaking my head and feeling like slamming my face into a tree or wall I carried on, and stopped getting side tracked!! Luckily I soon came across a game trail or for this case a Deer trail. Slowly I started to walk in the direction that smelt the freshest and where the footprints led.

While walking steadily along the path I slipped into… I guess it would be called a trance but it felt like more…

I could sense everything around me, more than I ever thought I could. The smell of animals scurrying in the underbrush or clambering in the canopy above. The scratches of claws on branches, the fluttering of feathers as birds flew away in fear due to my presence.

The breathing of a… a fox? Looking over to where I heard the breathing there it was, frozen and unmoving like a Deer in headlights. I could have killed and eaten it right there, but I didn’t really feel like eating a fox today, too little meat. so I moved on.

Closing the distance I noticed I was moving down in elevation and that soon the terrain would flatten out… maybe... But I moved on ever closer toward the Deer herd, which of course it was because… that’s what they did as a species? It was unlikely to find a Deer by itself in spring only during autum- fuck! I’m getting off track again.

Getting closer but still a few hundred metres away or more away, I checked which direction the wind was blowing. Towards the Deer it seemed. Shit.

I stopped and turned 45 degrees right, hopefully I wouldn’t run into the Deer yet. I wanted to move in a large circle around the herd so I could be downwind of the Deer or at least not upwind.

Trodding along I was careful not to snap any branches, twigs or bushes. To my surprise I was deceptively quiet for my size, my padded paws making it difficult for me to make noise. The size also helped muffle any noise I could have made when stepping, with them all but smothering anything underneath.

Triangulating where the Deer were I realised they now smelt like they were coming from the left, telling me that they were close and soon the hunt would begin.
