Chapter 10

After I finished checking out my status the Inn owner came to my table.

"Well, here is the special dinner I prepared!" she said.

"Oh let's see!" I replied.

She put the plate on my table, a beef stew awaited my starving body.

My mouth watered, it's been a while since I ate some good food.

"Thank you so much!" I said.

"Don't worry, you deserver it," she said.

After saying that she went back to serve other customers.

Without hesitation, I dug into the beef stew.

It was delicious.

After eating I went to my room.

It had been a tiring day, and my body felt sluggish.

"It's time for bed," I said as I lay on my bed.

My eyes started closing.

[Next Day]

This morning I woke up after having a nightmare, I remembered the days that I worked as a slave for my company.

Many nights without sleep, working hard for low income.

I'm glad I was freed from that company.

After waking up, I went downstairs.

I had some breakfast that the Inn Owner made for me and left for the guild.

The streets were full as ever, stalls up again, and many items and merchants were selling.

The smell of food drenched the air, and the streets filled with noise.

I'm so glad that this world isn't a dream honestly.

Still, I made my way to the guild, I cannot afford to waste time right now.

I need to secure savings to have a nice life without worries in school.

I arrived at the guild building and entered.

The same atmosphere as yesterday, but today I had some eyes on me.

Some brigand-looking fellows whispered

"Isn't he the rumored Adrian Von Veridian?"

I could hear them since their whispering wasn't really that quiet.

It was rather loud, as expected of muscle heads.

I made my way to the reception, where the receptionist greeted me.

"Good morning! How may I help you?" she asked.

"Good morning, do you have any quests available for me?" I asked.

I want to do some quests today and get some coins, it doesn't matter if they're easy or hard.

"Yes we have a couple of quests for a G rank, here you go," she said as she handed me a couple of papers.

I looked at the paper and they seem to be quest requests.

G rank: Find Medicinal Herbs, Reward: 1 Silver Coin
G rank: Kill Slimes, Reward: 3 Silver Coins
G rank: Kill Globins, Reward: 10 Silver Coins

These are some nice quests, and they're all easy and give good pay.

Let's start with finding Medicinal Herbs.

"I'll take all three!" I said.

"Are you sure?" the receptionist asked.

"Yeah, also could you tell me which Herbs I should find?"

"You need to find Cotsbalm, You can find it near the forest outside the capital, they're usually yellow flowers, and difficult to spot," she said.

"Thank you so much" I replied.

"Be careful out there!" she shouted.

I left the guild soon after that.

I walked towards the city gate where I met a guard.

"What's your business here boy?" he said.

I showed him my adventurer card and he let me go.

Soon I reached the forest outside the city walls,

Next to the forest were the plains, which contained many flowers, rocks, slimes, and more.

Can't I just knock out 2 quests in the plains?

I arrived at the plains.

A Beautiful scenery, blue clouds, green grass, many flowers, and rocks in the distance.

The scene was beautiful, but there are still many stuff to see in this world.

Let's look for these herbs before lunchtime.

"I should use appraisal to find these herbs," I thought to myself.

[Appraisal]

Many panels containing information appeared in my sight.

"Is there a way to filter what I see?" I asked myself.

"What do you wish to see?" Panel asked.

I was surprised, I hadn't heard that voice in a long time.

"Woah Panel! Since when were you here?" I shouted.

"I have been watching the whole time"

"Oh is that so. Well, Panel I want to see the plant called.. What was it? Cotsbalm!"

"Commencing Filter," Panel said.

All of the windows disappeared from my sight, and only a couple remained.

The ones that remained were hidden in flower fields, no wonder why it's rare to find them.

They blend in with other yellow flowers in the field.

Good thing I brought a bag with me.

I started collecting Herbs and 25 minutes passed by and I encountered my first slime.

"Well, I don't have any weapons to defeat it with right now.."

I'll just use magic.

Wait! C-Can I use creation to make a weapon?

It's been a bit since I've designed something since my job at the office but let's give it a try.

[Creation]

Woah!

A panel popped up on sight, it looks like a computer screen, but I can model stuff here huh?

I started playing with the panel and made a really quick iron sword, I only needed the blade, crossguard, and grip after all.

It isn't that hard to create.

While dodging the slime that launched itself towards me, I edited the appearance of the sword.

Ain't this a cool skill, I can even edit its appearance and color.

I don't have much time to do this so I'll just finish this.

Woah this takes almost all my mana to make. I guess I still need to work on that huh?

I clicked the finish button and the sword appeared in my hand.

I don't have the swordsmanship skill yet so I'll have to try this without it.

The slime came towards me and with all the might and strength little me had I swung the sword at it.

Surprisingly it just bounced off the slime.

I wonder why it doesn't work...

"What a bummer!" I shouted.

Let's try piercing the slime this time.

The slime tried to launch itself right at me again.

These brainless creatures really think that will do something to me.

Pointing the sword right at the slime. The slime pierced itself and died.

When it died, all of the slime juice came out.

"Ugh, Nasty!" I shouted.

It was indeed nasty.

It was sticky after all.

I just have to collect this right?

When I finished with that I looked for another slime to kill, this time I knew how to kill them so it was fine.

After killing the slime I returned to the city and went to the guild.

Carrying the slime's now cleansed body and the herbs.

I talked to the Receptionist.

"Well look who it is! Did you finish the quests?" she asked in excitement.

"I finished the herb and slime quests but I have yet to finish the goblin quest" I answered.

I showed her the bag with the herbs and the dead slimes.

"Well done! I will mark these requests as completed and bring out your rewards right now"

she collected the herbs and slimes from me and left for a couple of minutes.

"I'm back! Here are your rewards" she said while handing me 4 Silver Coins.

MONEY! MONEY!

I finally have some money for myself.

"Don't be too excited, the guild leader has requested that you come to the training hall before you go!"
