"Shit, I'm going to be late for the bus," muttered a young man, checking the time on his phone.

"Darn it, I should have used my alarm to wake up early. Well, I'll use it for tomorrow," Ryder thought to himself as he sprinted to the bus stop. Out of nowhere, a blue light appeared, and Ryder vanished.

"Aliens took him! I knew it, aliens are going to invade the world," shouted a homeless man who witnessed Ryder's disappearance.

'What the heck, where am I?' Ryder wondered as he found himself in a room filled with students wearing uniforms around his age. 'Are they Japanese? Just what is happening?'

Ryder's heart raced in this unknown situation. 'I need to calm down. I'll follow sensei's advice: "When in an unknown situation, keep low and analyze everything around you."'

Surveying the room, Ryder noticed several knights and a middle-aged man and woman seated on thrones in the front. "What the heck happened?" shouted a Japanese-looking person. "Kyaa, where are we?" cried out a school girl. Panic filled the air among the students.

Amidst the chaos, Ryder burst into laughter upon hearing a girl with an eye patch claiming, "Ah, the great goddess has noticed the great darkness in my eye and summoned me to another world to show the might of my darkness."

The girl glared at him with anger. "Do you want to face my wrath of darkness, you foolish mortal?" (Yep, he completely forgot the advice he gave himself.)

'Oh man, that was way too funny. Is she one of those chunni’s mentioned in manga? Now that I think about it, how do I understand her? She’s talking in Japanese.'

A group of people in fancy robes surrounded an old lady with even fancier robes.

"It worked, Lady Elina!"

"As expected of Lady Elina."

"There’s over 20 of them, incredible. As expected of the great magus, only she could do such summoning."

The situation started to make sense to Ryder, but denial took hold. 'Oh no, no, no, you're kidding me. This is just a strange dream. Yes, this is a strange dream. I’ll wake up any minute from this strange dream,' Ryder tried to convince himself.

"Welcome, otherworlders. My name is Paul Anselet, the king of Prator," announced the king from his throne. "I'm sure you’re wondering why you were summoned to this world, but the best way to say this is the world is in crisis."

Ryder's eyes twitched at the cliché situation. "Please don't tell me it's something as predictable as a demon king," he couldn't help but quip.

His interjection stirred an uproar among the knights and attendants, provoking them to unleash a barrage of insults.

“That brat how dare he interrupt his highness”.

“Look at that barbarian, how does he interrupt his majesty”.

“So uncouth, you could tell he has terrible upbringing”.

Fuelled by anger, Ryder retorted, "Shut up, would you, before I kick all you’re assess!" The shock on the faces of the Japanese students mirrored the tension in the room.

"As expected of westerners, he’s got zero tact," commented one.

"This guy is crazy," said another.

"He probably hasn’t read any isekai light novels," added someone else.

“No, you’re wrong, didn’t you him hear him say something as cliché as demon lord”.

The summoners were angered, and the knights unsheathed their swords. Ryder, on edge, got into a defensive stance.

'Damn it, I should’ve kept my mouth shut. Oh well, I guess I got no choice but to fight my way out as usual. Now is not the time; I got to clear my mind and deal with this situation.'

Unbeknownst to others, Lady Elina, an old man with armor, and the king shared an amused smile.

"Enough, I apologize for my knight’s behavior, child. It’s as the child said; there is a demon king, not a demon lord," clarified the king, emphasizing the difference.

"Um, yeah, I apologize, Your Majesty, for interrupting you," Ryder said on his knees. 'I don’t want to get on the king’s bad side. Why did he emphasize demon king and not demon lord?'

"Bah ha ha ha, you’re an amusing one, child. You seem to be quite a troublemaker," laughed the king, surprising Ryder, and the summoned people. Those in the room couldn’t help but facepalm.

'He seems alright if he can laugh at this type of situation.'

"Yeah, well, I’ve probably caused my parents to want to smash my head in too many times," Ryder said with laughter, making the king and the old man with the spear laugh. Everyone else had a sweatdrop on their head at this idiotic situation.

"I’m sure you're tired, children, and you want to discuss among yourselves over what to do. You shall be guided to a common room where you can have your conversation, and then once you’re done, you’ll be guided to your rooms," stated the king, silently observing the summoned children.

'How sad, children being summoned to this world to fight. By the looks of their eyes, they're civilians who haven’t seen blood. They clearly lived in peaceful times without war. I’ll be sure to inform the others of this, but I won’t be surprised if some of the others have figured this out. It looks like they’ve got uniforms, so maybe they’re part of an education institute—well, except that funny child; he doesn’t even have the same uniform as the rest plus he has different facial structure than the rest of them except the girl with purple hair.'

Most of the students had frightened, anxious, and intimidated faces, but a handful had calm expressions, some trying to uplift their situation, one looking very amused, and others analysing the situation. 'These will stand out among the others, mark my words.'

The king flicked his wrist, and a duo of a butler and maid appeared. "We shall guide you on your way to the common room. Please follow us," they said simultaneously.
