Night had fallen upon the port town, casting a glow on the streets as the moonlight danced across the buildings.

The scent of the sea hung in the wind, carrying with it a sense of tranquility that settled over the town.

Amidst the peaceful ambiance, the only sounds to be heard were the gentle chirping of crickets and the rhythmic chorus of cicadas.

However, there was one exception to the calmness of the night. Running through the glow of the moonlight was a naked man named Ginryu.

He darted and leaped stealthily, on a mission to find clothes and tools that would make his life in the mountain easier.

As he moved about, Ginryu couldn't help but marvel at the changes that had occurred while he slept, yet some things remained unchanged. The stark separation of social classes still prevailed.

With a purpose in mind, Ginryu made a conscious decision to target only the wealthiest-looking houses for the items he needed.

The lord's mansion became his destination. Money was not his concern, as he had no plans to reveal himself anytime soon, and the sudden disappearance of money always invited trouble.

Though there were guards patrolling the area, Ginryu effortlessly slipped past them. After gathering the necessary clothes and tools, he carefully placed them in a cloth so the metal objects wouldn't make much sound.

‘Wait don’t I have that inventory looking thing’ Ginryu realized as be remembered seeing  it amongst his skills on the status screen.

“Hey Lucia, open dimensional storage” Ginryu requested after confirming it on his status screen. Suddenly 10 black square openings neatly appeared beside him. Each opening was around 1 cubic meter.

With his belongings safely stowed away, Ginryu stealthily made his way out of the town, keen on remaining undetected.

Suddenly, a pungent smell of blood reached Ginryu's senses, causing him to halt in his tracks. He sniffed again to confirm that his senses weren't deceiving him.

Surprisingly, his heightened senses had gone unnoticed earlier in the day. His current state felt so normal that he hadn't realized the extent of his sharpened senses.

"Yes, definitely human blood," Ginryu mused to himself. He contemplated whether or not to investigate the source of the scent.

Ultimately, curiosity won, and he decided to briefly check it out. Following the trail of blood, Ginryu stumbled upon a peculiar sight.

The path led to a certain point outside the town and abruptly vanished. Observing the trajectory, he noticed that it extended in a straight line towards the mountain.

‘Why would someone who's injured go to the mountain instead of seeking help in town?’ Ginryu pondered. ‘Or perhaps a demon has taken its prey into the mountains,’ he reasoned.

There was no logical explanation for the blood trail to abruptly end unless some form of supernatural power had been involved. The only supernatural power Ginryu knew of was the demonic blood arts.

While Ginryu felt no particular concern for the victim, as most people he cared about were long gone, he couldn't help but wonder if Muzan had that ordered a demon to stick around the area, or if it was just a mere coincidence.

In pursuit of answers, he continued searching for any trace and soon he picked up the scent of blood again.

Following it lead him to a cave on the western side of the mountain. The location was unmistakable, as it was an area he often frequented during his childhood hunts.

As Ginryu stood at the entrance of the cave, a potent stench of blood and decaying flesh wafted out, assaulting his senses.

The sickening sound of flesh being torn from bone and the squelching of a gruesome feast echoed within, leaving no doubt as to what horrors awaited inside.

Casting his gaze toward the dark abyss, Ginryu felt a surge of reluctance. The putrid odor and daunting darkness made him hesitant to venture into the cave.

Furthermore, he knew that engaging in a fight within such a confined space would be disadvantageous.

It would be wiser to lure the demon out into the open, where he could confront it without the limitations imposed by the cave.

The idea of having such a creature residing near his home filled him with an unsettling discomfort that propelled him forward.

"Hey, stop your feasting and come out!" Ginryu bellowed, purposely taunting the demon to draw it out.

To his satisfaction, the chewing sounds ceased, confirming his suspicion that a demon would emerge from the cave.

However, what greeted him was far from the typical image of a demon. Instead, he encountered an unusually corpulent, bald and bloated creature that hardly resembled the menacing figures he had encountered before.

Unable to contain himself, Ginryu burst into laughter upon seeing the grotesque demon before him.

The thought of demons being somewhat fit and buffed had always been what he presumed, but this one seemed more like an inflated balloon.

"Dare you interrupt my meal and mock me? Who..." the demon's menacing words trailed off, replaced by a broken record of muttered phrases.

"Blue eyes, silver hair... it can't be... it can't be," the demon repeated, seemingly lost in his own thoughts.

Ginryu, intrigued by this unexpected turn of events, questioned, "Do you happen to know me?" This new development caught him off guard, as he wondered how the demon knew him or if Muzan had divulged information about him to his demon minions.

"I... it's me, Genzo. Please don't devour me," the demon stammered in reply.

Ginryu raised an eyebrow, contemplating the situation. "Genzo, as in the third son of the village chief?" he asked, seeking confirmation.

"Y-yes," Genzo responded, his voice slurred and fearful.

"I see, so you were turned into a demon," Ginryu acknowledged, a sense of inevitability creeping in.

Although he knew he would ultimately have to eliminate Genzo, the unusual circumstances prompted him to consider extracting useful information first.

"Tell me everything that happened after I disappeared," Ginryu requested, his curiosity piqued.

"Well..." Genzo began, only to abruptly slam his hand onto the ground. As if the earth beneath him had transformed into a black mud-like substance, he began sinking into the ground.

Reacting swiftly, Ginryu leaped away, not surprised by the sudden twist. He understood from the series  that demons retained memories and emotions from their human lives, though tainted and twisted in a weird way.

"Tsk, you should have allowed yourself to be captured. Muzan-sama will reward me handsomely for delivering you to him. I'm sure the other demons were exaggerating your story," Genzo sneered.

Keeping a safe distance from the sinking demon, Ginryu pondered his next move.

He contemplated on how to kill the demon. Remembering his previous fight with Muzan and his demon minions.

He remembered killing the demon by consuming them for calories while he fought. In addition to that his thoughts were clouded my instincts and madness.

However, he now lacked the same level of madness he possessed back then, and the thought of ingesting any part of the rotund demon repulsed him.
