Awakened abruptly by the jarring sound of a Mixi, Rehaan found himself in a daze as he stumbled towards the kitchen. There, amidst the morning hustle and bustle, his mother and younger sister were diligently preparing breakfast.

"Ah, Rehaan, you've finally graced us with your presence," his mother greeted him with a warm smile.

"Mmm, yes, mother," he mumbled, still half-immersed in the realm of dreams.

"Excellent, my dear. Come, lend me a helping hand," she requested, her voice filled with a hint of anticipation.

"Of course, mother," Rehaan agreed, his grogginess slowly dissipating as he joined them in the kitchen.

His sister, Maahi, added her own touch to the conversation, "Brother, why don't you take charge of the fish while I attend to the curry?"

"Sounds like a plan," Rehaan nodded, ready to contribute his culinary skills to the morning feast.

After finishing breakfast, Rehaan's daily routine began. His schedule was always hectic and full of surprises. Upon completing his post-graduation, he focused all his energy on preparing for his state exams. Despite initially dreaming of becoming a teacher in college, he soon discovered his true passion lay in serving as a police officer. His goal was to safeguard others from danger.

Each day, Rehaan would kick off his morning with a run, followed by attending his UPSC class. He would then spend hours at the library, immersed in books, and in his spare time, he would lose himself in novels. This pattern never wavered, as Rehaan was resolute in sticking to it.

Rehaan was given the name by his parents, meaning "God's blessing." Yet, he later found out it also meant "Destroyer of Enemies." Despite this dual significance, both meanings resonated with him deeply. His father instilled in him a crucial lesson - right and wrong are universal, whether at home or beyond. Rehaan internalized these teachings and remained steadfast in his father's wisdom.

In the evening, Rehaan returned home. Maahi was deeply engaged in her phone conversation. Mother was watching TV, and father had left for a meeting. Feeling weary, Rehaan chose to sit beside his sister.

She beamed a smile that illuminated the room. Rehaan couldn't help but be curious about what was so amusing in her chat.

"Oh, look at this handsome guy," she exclaimed, staring at her phone screen.

"Tevin?" he muttered.

"Yes, baby Tevin. Isn't he dreamy?"

"Maahi, I've told you before. Don't idolize him, he's just annoying."

"He's cute, bro. Check out his photo," she insisted, showing him her phone. Rehaan glanced at the screen.

"Hot boys?" Rehaan inquired. With a hint of intrigue, he swiftly snatched the phone from Maahi's grasp upon catching sight of the group's name.

"Yes, it's a group dedicated to our favorite good-looking men. Right now, we're all about Tevin."

Rehaan was annoyed to find out about such a group. He skimmed through the messages.

"He's so full of himself. Why do you adore him so much?"

Maahi, who was four years younger, felt upset when her own brother criticized her idol. She snatched the phone away.

"Oh Maahi, can't you ask nicely? You almost hurt my hand," Rehaan scolded, shaking his hand.

"Seriously, bro, you're dissing my idol now. And remember, this is my phone. I can take it back whenever I want," she retorted. Rehaan stayed silent and looked away. Maahi approached him and asked, "Brother, why do you despise Tevin so much?"

"He's your Tevin, it's just strange. You don't really know him," Rehaan replied.

"And what about you, brother? Why do you hate him? Is there something I'm missing?".

To be continued...
